- Emmy Award-winning actor William H. Macy is well known for his roles in "Boogie Nights," "Fargo," and the Oscar-winning film, "Room." But for the past seven seasons, he's also starred as Frank Gallagher, an addict and troublesome single father on Showtime's hit series, "Shameless." Macy joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss his character and tackling taboo but "moral" topics on the show.

They don't hit the fact his character is extremly intelligent, and very awoke to the true ways of the world. The chickens just pick around sex scenes. Typical.
Lip inherited his smarts. but squandered them like his Dad. Frank's articulations often are part of his life long con job to anyone who'll listen. this typing is while the last season (11) is airing, and it doesn't look like Lip will ever resume his higher education. and Sunday nite? 1/31/21 I'm not gonna tell you guys what happened. no spoilers here.

Macy is able to play 3 completely different characters in Frank Gallagher on Shameless, David Morganstern on ER and Jerry Lundegaard in Fargo. Such a diverse and talented actor.
William H Macy is a wonderful actor! The cast of Shameless is the best to watch. Love all of the characters. They all pulled their weight in the series. I binge watched it and so glad I did. I am a 75 and a big fan of the show. More! More! More!

Emmy was a terrific actor and played her role perfectly but she was no Frank Gallagher. Frank’s scenes were cant miss tv. Fiona’s scenes got repetitive and boring. It was basically just her and whoever she’s banging at the time having a deep convo. I found myself fast forwarding through most of her scenes the second time I watched the show. Frank on the other hand, you don’t skip his scenes
