I hope Pvt. Harry Eagan’s little grave marker is still there. I saw it just as the plane was landing. I’ve done a lot of mapping and work concerning the Sheepeater War. Beautiful land8ng!
These airstrips were built many years ago by the forest service to provide access. Now days, they are used by hunters, rafters, hikers, and emergency crews. This area of Idaho is very remote and has no roads for access, due to this flying is the main means of transportation and these airstrips are well maintained. It's a wonderful area to fly around! Say hello to all the Swiss backcountrypilots for me. I would like to fly the Alps someday. :)
absolutly amazing, but one question...for what in the world is there an airstrip...just for fun or a good spot for hunters or what are you doing there normally, when not making some nice videos? big respect for you backcountrypilots and greets from swiss mountains :D
This was 12 years ago. It’s rougher than heck now. Pretty hard on the 185.

This was recommended by Pete’s Dad! Juan Browne. Blancolirio👍
Safe to assume there is no courtesy car at this airport? :)
Miss me some Mountain Matt!

Cool video. Not leaving yourself many options though.
is there anything near the airport worth coming to? or is it just to get out in the woods?
Unbelievable :)
Nah! Not to worry. Airplane engines never quit. -old pilot
@Vndemir
In these videos I have Air Trac 8.50's on the mains. I will hopefully upgrade to bushwheels soon, then the fun will really begin. :)
@mtweiss01
If there was one, I did not see it. :)
