edit?
and that's a good place to flip.
It’s so seamless as well
The back-flip is an integral part of the proof
I attended the 2007 IMO, actually. Got an honourable mention for getting full score on the sequence problem that did make it into the actual competition. Then I think I got one point on the graph theory clique problem and one point on the planes-and-grid-points-in-space problem. Or something like that.
Great transition from positive to negative cases!
THE BACKFLIP
Yey! A backflip!
How long has it been?
Return of the backflip!
Shouldn’t the geometric sum have (-1)^m*k^{m} instead of just k?
[20:00] I agree, and adding a time code so others can more easily find it (when I am confused by something I immediately look for a nearby time code in the comments). Then, at [21:10] the mistake is undone by cancelling the k in the numerator (which should have been k^m) by dividing by k^m
So, do I understand this correctly: if a_0 is not equal to -k + k/(k+1) then eventually a_m leaves the interval ((k-1)/k, 1) and we are done because of the IH?
Your channel is awesome
Hey!!! The good old backward flip is back!!!! So nice to see it again
One must like a math video with a backflip
Apparently backflips are a thing here ^^ I've been watching for years and I don't remember seeing one before today : )
He used to do them a lot more in the past
He used to do them a lot, then had to stop because he put a microphone just above where you can see, and he might kick it. He's remodeled the space again since then, but I think he ordinarily has a microphone there for the best audio quality, so he needs to do some editing to do it safely.
I found it amusing that the ad happened in the middle of the back flip.
Best way to erase a blackboard.
a(n+2)=[[an]{an}]{[an]{an}}
Somersault hype!
DAMN LOVE THIS 2024 BACKFLIP DROP 🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥
Can you evaluate
Sum of cos(blnx)/x^a as x going from 1 to infinity .
a and b are like parametres
You have a Google Forms in the description to suggest problems
If I'm not wrong you can write cos theta as Re(e^itheta) so this summation is Re( e^iblnx/x^a) = Re ( x^ib-a ) and this sum I just the Bernoulli sum or smth right?
8:42 Mens sana in corpore sano.
Wow, cool.
real
One thing about your definitions. The Reals seem to define 1 = 0.999.... Therefore, it wouldn't seem to be true that {x} is an element of [0, 1).
Didn't suspect that I needed a formal definition of "fractional part," but I do, viz., {x} = x - floor(x). Then {0.999...} = 0.9999... - floor(0.9999...) = 1 - floor(1) = 1 - 1 = 0, which is an element of [0, 1).
I loved the video, but I must admit that I wasn't ready for such depth. So, I didn't follow every tittle. Hope you don't disillusion any of your viewers by doing such an intricate example. You probably should follow up with a much simpler example but of the same ilk, perhaps some interesting subcase of this case. And do continue to include more involved videos in you mix.
another confusing video
Yes,that exactly what i felt, while watching this video.
