    This is excellent and exactly what I need to check the CSC roof hydraulic fluid reservoir.
    Thank you for posting it.

    Thanks for the great tutorial. We hav a 2014 EOS and currently the top works fine. I would like to check/flush the fluid, however.

    Hi Klaus! Thank you for detailed videos. Very useful indeed. I just used the same febi 02615 produced in 2022 to refill my MB R170 roof pump. It is colorless as seen in this video. However, years before, I remember it being very yellow. I also noticed that new MB cylinders (build in 2023) still come refilled with a yellow fluid. I was afraid that my febi 02615 was counterfeit but relaxed after seeing your video. Do you have any idea the reason for that difference? Thanks in advance.

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  11 місяців тому +1

      FeBi went to being colorless a number of years ago and Mercedes may still be adding a dye to their fluid. Outside of the dye, the fluids should be identical.Sorry to hear that you are using new cylinders from Mercedes, but I appreciate your candor. The manufacturing date is printed on the hoses, as you probably know since you mentioned the parts were made in 2023.

    Hi. How often does this need to be replaced? Does one siphon the old fluid out with a syringe until empty and then refill with new fluid? Does the level typically go down if there are no leaks in the system? Thank you.

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  3 роки тому +1

      The fluid level does not go down if there is no leak - this fluid does not evaporate. The manufacturer says that the fluid never has to be changed. Not so if you are in a hot climate or are using the top daily. If the fluid in your pump looks really dark, then you may want to siphon out as much as possible and refill.

      Thank you so much! Honestly I haven't really looked at the color of the fluid, only to see if there is or has been any water down there. I will however make it a point to inspect the fluid ASAP. Again, TY and have a great day!

    good morning I wanted to ask for information. if I top up the hydraulic oil, do I have to do some bleeding procedures or just fill up to level?

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  3 роки тому

      The system is self bleeding, meaning, you only have to fill it to the proper level. There are two reasons why the fluid level would be low in your pump: you purchased a used one to replace yours, or there was a leak in the system.
      If you are replacing the pump with a used one, please be aware that you purchased someone else's part that either was not working any more or that will fail soon. If you are not replacing the pump but you have found a low fluid level, then you must have a leak somewhere that needs to be taken care of.

      thanks for the explanation. last year I changed the pump and controller ... because after an infiltration it burned everything. so far it has worked fine. i had trouble with the sliding roof motor and i changed the nylon gear. reassembled now it no longer opens the top .... that is, it opens the sliding roof .... goes up the rear window ..... opens the boot .... but does not release the uprights for insertion into the boot. it tells me system error. is it possible that the sliding roof is to be calibrated? I made the reset in total closure. then I sent the scooter all the way forward and closed the flap then I reassembled it. I have now checked the pump and the liquid is at the right level. I brought the machine to have it analyzed with a computer and it says there are no problems. can give me some advice thanks

  • @cefrio
    @cefrio 2 роки тому

    Question, so if you want to open up the whole roof and it gets stuck midway, could this pump be the cause ?
    Having this problem right now it just stops half way just when the most heavy part should go up.. closing it up again goes fine

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  2 роки тому

      Let's check the fluid level in the pump first. Is it between the MIN and MAX lines on the pump's reservoir?

    • @cefrio
      @cefrio Рік тому

      @Dimitris Katsaros yes it was solved, when the roof opens there are 2 'flaps' left and right around the backseat window, ore little wings (for lack of a better word) that kind of go up and flip to the outside, one of these was stuck cousing the wholo roof to stop.. that was quickly fixed and all works well again

  • @jordancarlson6960

    To confirm… when top is down there should be more fluid in the reservoir?

  • @MRLaurens
    @MRLaurens Рік тому

    How often do you recommend to check and top up the fluid?

    • @TopHydraulics
      @TopHydraulics  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for asking. The only time you will have low fluid level is if there is a leak. In that case, topping off without replacing the faulty parts wouldn't help you much. The designers' idea was that the fluid never has to be checked or replaced, but that is unrealistic. You will be checking the fluid level once you find the top not moving properly and anything in-between may help you for peace of mind. Given that you have to go through some acrobatics to see the fluid level in the pump, I would suggest every one to two years.

      The type of oil is ZH-M. The easiest suitable fluid to buy is Mercedes 0009899103.
