When Justin said he never thought he would have to fight max. It made me tear up a bit, he had nothing to gain and everything to lose. Respect to Justin 🩷
he got payed really good, which is the most important thing. high risk high reward. had he won it would have been another story, He would not have got ppv money fighting for the title and would have lost that too.
Much respect for Justin for taking that fight, he was pretty much all set for a title shot, but put it all on the line against Max so much respect to Justin..
Nah outclassing was the Kattar fight. Max was obviously winning slightly being ahead for the most part but it wasn't a one sided fight not even close to that
@@EmeralArcher In the moment it seemed like a clear victory in which Max was both crisp and dominant. In this sense, he kinda did outclass JG. The only thing that kept it interesting, I think, is that JG could have landed a game changing smack at any moment.
Justin is such a gentleman and an absolute all time legend and Hall of Famer. Would be so easy for him to lean into that broken nose to soften the loss but that’s not what the BMF does. Love everything about this dude man. Inside and outside the cage dudes just all class and truly one of one of one.
He can't lean into it. Because he leaned directly into that kick. Max shattered Gaethjes nose. That was the game changer for sure. But it was all Holloways doing.
Agreed Justin is the man love him .. hate when someone like Usman says the eye pokes are why Justin lost so corny .. we’ve seen terrible eye pokes .. he wasn’t blind after it .. he didn’t take the 5 minutes like he could have and felt he was fine.
@@HaHaroni again: you didn't watch the video. He could've gotten 5 minutes to recover and he clearly didn't need it, when he HIMSELF was asked if it bothered him he said no. You delusional fanboys keep making excuses that the fighter himself is debunking
Justin is a prime example of how fighters should view their training, their fight, the outcome and the reality of what you do next. Not many fighters will sit there and admit someone with better than me or they stalled my game based on the end of this video and how he wants to inspire and teach others he just did that whole interview and taught every one of us MMA fans what a fighter should think of themselves and the fight game as a whole. Too many fighters even some of my favorites get in their head and get severely depressed to the point where it becomes possibly a danger to their lives. I pray that every fighter whether they work with sports psychology or their coach can watch this video and hear the simplicity of how a fighter should view themselves leading to a fight in the fight and after fight and what you do next. Not one negative came out of that interview other than knowing his own mistakes and that's no one's fault he is the most honest man in MMA that is why I love The Highlight.
The first time I watched the fight, I cried tears of joy for Max. The second time I watched the fight I got all choked up at Justin’s grit. Huge props to Justin…love the humility and class. ♥️ from Hawaii.
There’s not a fight fan from hawaii that doesn’t know gaethje !! You’re a Legend man I don’t got balls to do the shit yall do. You guys inspire me to go & try!
I'm born and raised in Honolulu , Hawaii so my favorite MMA (UFC) fighter is Max Holloway . Justin Gaethje is my second favorite fighter and this was even before he fought in the UFC. I watch all MMA fights if they come on TV and I search my computer for fights , so I stumbled upon Justin fighting Luis Palomino and was amazed how good of a fight it was . I was nervous for Max before the fight knowing he was coming up to the 155 pound division . But I give credit to his coaches also for this victory . I have tons of respect for all MMA fighters , it takes guts to get into that ring and fight .
True warrior, true bmf. Still my favorite fighters favorite fighter. Nothing but love for one of the most entertaining guys to ever step into the octagon. Theres always a positive to take away from things, it was fight of the night on the biggest card in UFC history. And guess what, if Porier pulls off the upset, the highlight is in prime position to become undisputed as he fucking deserves. No meatriding over here, I think we need to start giving these legends their flowers while they are still fighting, we only realize how valuable things are when we dont have them anymore.
Yeah I thought he’d lose but even when I think he gonna lose he brings it, 300 was on my bday that fight and the Alex fight bring me happiness for many years just to think that’s a reality fight and then they both delivered to make it even crazier. Legend in my book on the best card ever
Very respectful interview, stating how awesome max was while showing respect to justin. That’s an awesome way to interview someone. I love it, such a quick sub.
I feel like the fear in Max made him fight a perfect fight. Love both of them and moving forward I wanna see Gaethje be more patient and technical. Keep your head up Justin! Tony el Caballo! Congrats on getting Justin on. Sigue metiendole animal salvaje!🙌🏼💪🏼👊🏻
Respect to Gathje a true warrior. Fighting is a double edge sword, you win some you lose some but if you never give up is what makes the difference 🙌👏🙏🤙
This is the most relaxed and open interview I have seen with Gaethje. Usually he looks like he's not really feeling the interview an is just waiting for it to be over. It's nice to see Gaethje like this, see who he is and let more personality out.
Out of all the interviews I've seen Justin in. This is absolutely the best one. He seems to be very clear headed. I like how he was speaking. He seems to be very humble and I like hell likes to help people. He's starting to remind me of Clay Guida, The carpenter. 💯 Class act
Will always be a legend no matter what. Dude had nothing to gain and took the fight. Ilia Topuria should be taking notes. Hope for a speedy recovery, can’t wait to see you in the octagon again🤙
UFC 300 bro first person to defend the bmf. Big pay compared to usual. And he’s a dawg that’s many reasons for a bad man to wanna step in there. He didn’t just go fight anyone for nothing. Gave the fans a fight of a lifetime (300 was on my bday so I’m biased lol)
Justin and Max are 2 greats in the UFC that are active. I’m such a fan of both that I couldn’t side with either one but rather just witness a great battle between these 2 great warriors. Wins and loses go hand in hand when it comes to fighting, it’s a matter of what was done inside the ring that reflects how great a fighter is and not always the end result.
Justin’s a true BMF !!! Makes no excuses and have Max the credit he deserved . I honestly thought this was gonna be a terrible match up for Max , I figured he was gonna get the same treatment as Tony . Too tuff for your own good but max came in like a beast with a fantastic game plan . Two legends put on a fight for the ages .
Wonderful interview. I love how he even admits that the last second knockout adds to the legendary status of this fight and to his own legacy. For me that is absolutely true.
I love the way he thinks about this loss, he's so right, he is always the hammer, maybe he was due, if your gonna get kod, it might as well be one of the most iconic in the sport
I don't think any less of Justin after the loss. He's always a killer and dangerous. He also made no excuses and said it was because Max was so good. He's a legend.
Fucking love Justin , more of a fan after this interview .. always stays true and no excuses .. was rooting for max all the way , hope Justin can go out on some wins.
Develop a strong mind and body. Accept life is violent but beautiful . Enjoy. Be an artist. Live in the moment and do good.! The Hilight. Just Gaethje. What a guy.
I have the utmost respect for Justin as a warrior and as a person. Justin has been so easy to root for. I hurt with him in this loss to Max. Max was amazing and Justin gave him his due credit. I do wonder why his corner didn’t get Justin to grapple with Max when the “toe to toe” wasn’t paying off. There is so much to appreciate about Justin in this sport. The MMA/UFC is fortunate to have a man like Justin representing them. May God restore you fully Justin. Inside and out.

Broke his nose in round one, eye poked in both eyes in rounds 1 and 2, crazy stuff. Justin was really tested in this fight, no way I woulda fought 4 more rounds with a broken nose like that. Respect.
Man, such a great human being. I’ve always been a fan. I’ve been a huge UFC fan since before my son was born in 2006 watched every PPV since. Shit, I went from Colorado Springs to SLC Utah with my son just so we could see this man fight at 291! Definitely will always be our favorite fighter!
