This is awesome! I didn't know there was a way to harvest wood without killing the tree-- very cool!
Oh yes there're several practices! 🌿
Awesome video mate. Just planted a baby one of these ! Keep it up
Nice! 🌿😀
Love oak trees! They are so iconic to the English landscape. My second favourite is the Beech tree.
I think they might just be my favourites :) beech woodland is lovely too
In that case then here's an interesting fact and that is did you know that in the olden days the Oak and Beech were seen as the king and queen of all British trees.
@@alexcrockett5665 perfectly sums them up 😀
@@lawn38 they are beautiful trees definitely the top two with the third I would say the ash tree.
The Oak, the Beech and the Ash are definitely my top three.
@@alexcrockett5665 I live in Leeds, West Yorkshire and Ash is probably the most numerous tree around these parts. Ash die back is a big worry but not seen it here yet. My 3rd favourite tree is the Weeping willow, so majestic when mature 😀
What a beautiful tree. There are so many different kinds, it amazing. I love it
Spectacular trees! 🌿

Beautiful oak trees I planted one last week I do hope it grows and thrives for years and years many thanks for your video 🙏
Thats awesome, I hope the tree does well! 🌿
Thanks for the good work. New subscriber here.
Theres two different native ''english'' oaks- sessile and robur however telling them apart is not always easy and to make it harder they cross pollinate and hybridise. They grow all over Britain and can easily reach 30m some much taller :)
Shame we are struggling to plant more oaks these days with the oak processionary moth (OPM) problem. Hopefully the restrictions will soon be slackened and we get back to planting the mighty oak in our public green spaces.
"National tree of England!"
🤩🤗
It’s a magnificent tree!!!!
@@LeaveCurious We need more of them!!!!!
they can be commonly found in parks and gardens.
I bought a young whip but I can't figure out where to put it. Not sure exactly how much space I need and minimum distance form things like power lines, other trees, etc.
i'd give it as much space as possible. although oaks grow slowly, they'll grow very tall with a broad canopy. they also have a high water demand, so worthing bearing in mind if planting near buildings.
Is it possible to grow English Oak at a temperature of 20 - 30 degree Celsius
Yes most certainly, they very much enjoy the sunlight! Just ensure its well watered and sheltered from the wind 🌿
Did you find out what the lower trunk discolour was,?
Ah no I completely forgot, I will go back and take another look next time I'm that way... can't find anything on my initial searches though 🌿
so, did you find out what the grey/silvery stuff is?
i think it might have been lichen growth. but be certain without going back to the tree again!
4 grains
It is having 💧 water
How many years ago plant
I’m not sure to be honest, I’d say at least 200 years if not double that.
Are English oak trees found in America? Thanks 😊
English Oak, Quercus robur... is found in America yes. Although it's native to Europe!
