These depictions of the sun and the moon are quite common in the art of the Middle Ages. It was almost every time the sun and moon were depicted in the paintings (especially religious paintings) of this period 14th-16th centuries, C.E. It was a totally common practice to depict in religious paintings the "opening of the heavens", as a circular opening in the sky, where inside would be an angel, or God's spirit shining forth in rays of light. These types of depictions were also found on maps and calendars.
@@jonathanhorvat2452 Well the instances involving the military go back to the major implementation of high-performance military aircraft. Both the Axis and Allied powers had airmen taking note of unusual arial phenomenon. The Allies even gave them the name "Foo Fighters". These arial phenomenon are not the same as renaissance artists depicting the Sun and Moon having faces or physical bodies. The artists in question are too far away in history to reproduce first-hand the accounts depicted in the paintings, in the first place. Most of these works were done close a millennium or even longer after the event actually happened. You don't believe these artists actually knew what the people depicted really looked like, do you? They have no idea what the people involved in these Bible accounts even looked like. It is not logical to say they knew enough about the event to depict an actual representation of what happened. Take as an example the painting of Mary, and the Angel Gabriel in 'The Annunciation with Saint Emidius' by Italian artist Carlo Crivelli. It is absurd to point to this painting as UFO conspiracy theorists often do, and say, "Look UFOs!". The artist is obviously trying to point out the occurrence of a divine encounter. The artist never expects people to believe that he actually knew what Mary or Gabriel actually looked like. If he doesn't even know what the people involved looked like, then what about their surroundings? If all of these things are merely used as depictions, then surely the same must be said of the aerial phenomena associated with the event. Don't you think so?
@@-OICU812- no, i just pretend like they are old fashioned photographs and that everybody depicted is alive with the "photographer," as it is more fun this way. Don't you agree? @P. Kelly Stark 939393 the difference in interpretation that you describe comes from pure lack of research about the background or the art and artist then, not from whether you look at the painting in question through analog or digital medium, so the conclusion is that the medium that you use to analyse the painting is by definition irrelevant. But I feel like you are ultimately running away from the line of questioning that was put in front you, does the definition of a collection imply the ownership of the actual physical medium? The answer would be no, not only because the definition is not specific, but also, any illusion that the word doesn't apply in contexts like these is purely outdated, words evolve in meaning and with the possibility of acquiring items in digital form constitutes just as much as collecting than actually collecting the physical object, the value that you put on the item itself and the ease of acquirement of one medium compared to the other are factors that are irrelevant to the question.
@P. Kelly Stark 939393 i see what you rpoint ultimately is, but i cant fully agree with it, i think it comes from a purist perspective, and i say this coming from someone who truly appreciates art in its physical medium and understand its appeal on an emotional level. putting aside the fact that nowadays you can get digital form of these paintings in such quality that what you describe is just not true anymore, at least for certain pieces, the misconceptions that you described are also things that you can find out about without being in the precense of the painting at all for that matter, the background behind the historical context of both the period in wich it was created and of the authors true intentions is not necessarily written in the canvas so you tend to have to do a separate research to find out these things, otherwise you end up with several interpretations for what the painting is actually portraying, like its the case, sometimes a piece of art without proper historical context can have more than one interpretation in the eyes of people, and this phenomenon has nothing to do with being able to see the finer details or not, its about the interpretation of the iconography. for example, even after you explained what is actually being portrayed in it (wich i still would have to check myself how true it is with research of my own, but i would also argue that if the painter was truly evoking religious iconography lets not forget that alien life and their technology could be interpreted in early human life as divine in nature, these beings whatever they could be, could be seen as gods, never forget incomprehensible technology can be seen as magic in the eyes of the "ignorant ) i still dont see how those shapes and "figures" resemble anything of what you described, specially on the painting that joe first pulled up, wich i dont recall the name of to be honest, dont even know if it has one to be fair, im not saying it isnt, only that its not recognizable in my eyes as such, and like i said, and pardon the repetition, it has nothing to do with the possible lack of detail when compared to the physical object. but even after all this i think once again we ran of course from the original argument, wich was whether him "owning" a collection of images of such paintings, with similar and arguably weird iconography would constitute as a collection, and i say by definition yes, it does, and imo such images can perfectly be used for analysis of the paintings iconography, but the images/paintings are not enough to constitute as a complete and thorough analysis.

I think the amazing thing about the craft in the paintings is that it could be possible someone from a future timelines that knew about these important historical events traveled back to the past to try and witness them to verify their validity or even just to see them happen. If we consider what Bob Lazar says about how these craft travel in which they physically warp the fabric of space and knowing that space and time are one in the same it's extremely possible that the craft that were painted were indeed some beings from the future traveling in time. To travel and warp the fabric of space is to travel and warp time.
Those crafts in the paintings look like they have heatshields similar to the Apollo and Orion command module heatshields that are necessary for reentry into Earth’s atmosphere. They even look like they are depicted as though they have fire, friction, or some type of energy spiking off them like a heatshield.
@@worstoneyet8098 even so through Einsteins general theory of relativity we've proved that it does exist and that it gets warped around massive objects and also slows down if you are traveling faster. The Miracle of Fatima or "The Miracle of the Sun" was a religious event that occurred in the city of Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. It was an apparition of the Virgin Mary to 3 little shepherd children. In order to be believed of the encounter by sceptics, the oldest girl asked the Virgin Mary to perform a miracle. They were then told to ask people to gather in October in order for them to witness the miracle and believe her prophecy. This led to the summoning of a large crowd of people on the 13 October 1917 who then witnessed all sorts of strange phenomena with the sun. In certain accounts, the sun did all sorts of strange things like moving up and down, back and forth, spinning, dimming to the point where it became dark and the stars could be seen, also became radiant, bright and warm to the point where it had rained earlier and peoples clothes became completely dry. There have since been quite a lot of scientific theories and explanations for this, but none conclusive. It was officially recognised as a miracle by the Roman Catholic church.
I think it’s nothing to do with religion personally. But it’s a beautiful way to look at it for sure. It’s crazy what people say about it I really wish I was there that day to see for myself.

Do you really think a painter would see a UFO and go "Yeah - that's not interesting enough to put as the center piece of a painting. I'm gonna focus on this woman praying, might include that UFO as part of a backdrop though LOL"
@Garden Organic They are. How many paintings over the past 5,000 years have there been of "angels" in the sky? Lots of them. Hundreds and thousands of years ago, there was no such thing as aircraft. It was impossible for human beings to fly through the air. Hell, they didn't even have cars until a hundred years ago. If you lived in the 1500's and saw something or someone FLYING ACROSS THE SKY, it would only be natural to assume it was a heavenly being; in other words, an Angel. Isn't it peculiar that the main attribute of angel is that they have WINGS. In other words, they can fly. It wasn't until the 1600's that anyone even suggested the Earth was round. The realization that Earth is a planet floating through space and the Universe is a relatively new thing. Therefore, anything that flew around in the sky that could not be explained or identified were seen as Angels from Heaven, not Aliens from outer space or another planet.
Maybe there was talk about it but it was hushed because you might seem like a lunatic. A bit like in modern times, humans don’t change that much you know.
@Mr. H I'm not talking about the "concept" of flight. I never said the concept of flight is a modern thing. I said aircrafts and airplanes are a modern thing. Of COURSE the concept of flight has been around for eons. To any and every human that has seen a bird or insect fly through the air (and even those who hadn't) the idea, concept, or fantasy of flying has existed. I think you missed my point.
Hector Munoz I think he means, rather than it be taken as a man staring up to the skies looking at an extraterrestrial aircraft, there could be a theme of wondering and curiosity instead of the artist blatantly drawing a UFO.

The painting where there is a man (behind the Madonna) in the background is looking up at the sky. Why put him there? It could've been a complete painting without him, but the artist decided to share what he saw in real life probably. Anyone that thinks this human kind is the only form of not evem that intelligent life in THE GIGANTIC, UNMEASURABLE UNIVERSE WITH OVER A BILLION STARS, is a narrow minded, brainwashed, idiot!
Riaz Hamdan Malik you’re getting really radical for no reason. But simply put, back then they didn’t even know there was a whole universe that was practically infinite, remember they used to think that the earth was the center of the universe (I mean given any point would be the center for any observable creature) but they didn’t know we revolves around the sun and that the moon revolved around us. It makes sense that they would believe these were gods because they didn’t have the tools to observe them properly
@Riaz Hamdan Malik There's perfectly rational explanations for all the strange objects in old paintings. Keep in mind there are many aspects of our current art/culture that people a thousand+ years from now will struggle to explain. That being said, think about how vast space is. Also remember, if any other civilization is keeping an eye on our solar system, they're seeing Earth as it was hundreds, thousands, even millions or billions of years ago depending on how far away they are. Even if they can travel at the speed of light, the journey from a mere 1000 light years away is...1000 years long! It's very unlikely we'll ever see another civilization. That's not to say none exist, because there's almost certainly life out there. Will we ever meet? Probably not. It might not even be possible for a civilization to progress to intergalactic travel without destroying itself first. There's far more variables to consider than just "is there life out there?" Odds are almost 100% that ET life exists apart from us on Earth. I think it incredibly unlikely that we'll ever encounter it though.

I have personally experienced this twice in my life. Once with 2 mates on the way driving home late at night, and another at a trance festival(not on psychedelics at the time). It was not a sense of it accelerating, like you would see with any kind of turbine motor. It came from very high up, shot down into what I would say an extreme height, and suddenly stop. It stood still for just a second before shooting through the sky at extreme speeds. The intense thing about it was the lack of acceleration or deceleration. It was an instant not moving to being out of sight within a second or two. It is in my opinion that UFO's have been around for a long time, but in my research and from what I can believe, they are Nephilim and not outer space aliens. UFO technology can only work on earth as it requires some sort of energy/magnetism to be able to function. I believe we as humans are not allowed to build this technology, or any of tesla's free energy projects, as that would be our only defence against this. The Nephilim tie into the Jesuits and NWO, and I believe UFO's, aliens, space travel and all these things were created as a distraction from hiding the real truth from us. They are here and they are going to use an alien invasion, to orchestrate a one world control mechanism. The real villain's are the fake heroes who create the chaos, in order to create the control, until you are hopelessly dependent on them. It is all tied together, everything.
I agree. Joe should interview the 1st alien. I think that if it was live and people could take the time to really get to ask questions and understand the impact of the situation, it would gradually shift from alarm to fascination. If the average person was addressed as though they matter, in a way that makes us feel inclusive, then we will all start to feel as though our contributions matter. We are all in this together. There were two, which I can remember, really interesting stories in history in terms of magic/cosmic/religious sightings. The first was before the battle between Constantine and a pagan roman general. Constantine's entire army saw something magnificent come out of the sky, most likely a meteor. It was so awe inspiring that Constantine ordered his men to paint it on their shields as he thought it a sign from god. On the flip side after Mehmed II finally took Constantinople from the Christians the entire city saw blue fire shimmer around the hagia Sofia. Again considered by all to be a sign of god
If you did any digging at all, you'd know that the Constantine the Great story is VERY, VERY Hard to pin to down. Some have said that Constantine had a vision in his sleep where Christ himself gave him the Chi-Rho and told him that Christ was essentially another aspect of a singular almighty God. Then there's another story that Constantine supposedly saw the symbol burning in the sky and had his men paint it on his shields. You even completely got it wrong that it was a Pagan Roman General. It was against Maxentius, another Roman Emperor. Saying that it's just a Pagan General cheapens the whole thing as Maxentius was the last Emperor to reside in Rome. I like Joe but his fans and the people on it are always so misinformed and really just take a small scrap of each story that fits whatever one they want to tell.

Early eighties, 82’/83’. A friend and I at approx. 6 years old were in his front yard claiming cars as they drove by( fun kids game) for some reason we both look up and notice a huge cloud cloaking all but a hand full of spots of an enormous air ship. We were young. But never brought it up to anyone. We didn’t run in and tell anyone. His grandma on the first floor porch behind us we didn’t even say grandma look! We actually never even brought it up to each other til I returned from boot camp. Saw him at a New Years party. We ended up alone in a living room and it pops in my head so I say “ hey, do you remember when we were kids and saw that thing in the sky?...his eyes opened as wide as possible both of us had the hairs on the back of our necks stand up. Goose bumps all that. It was crazy. We must have been too young to comprehend or panic. That’s why we had such a strong reaction years later when it was apparent we both remembered it.
Relatable... me and my two sisters were driving to our new home once and in the sky there were 7 or 8 clear dots. First we thought they were stars but then noticed they were too bright and in a formation. Upon noticing I stopped the car and we got out to watch it. They were hovering and I remember joking about it... “I bet these are secret government air ships doing a test run”. Till this day we still remember it and we still do not know what they were. It’s baffling how many people have UFO encounters!
Honestly, the best way for me to describe the sighting is there was some kind of ship, easily the size of a Nimitz class aircraft carrier, cloaked in cloud vapor and only for a moment we could both make out portions of the actual structure. I remember it looking like the sides and corners of buildings with lights in what may have been windows. Other than the actual sighting it was non-eventful. The weird part was the two of us not speaking of it for so long. There was no discussion what so ever other than the initial”OMG”. Then when we saw each other many years later and actually brought it up in conversation, it hit us both like a ton of bricks.

Actually what those seem to be are personifications of the sun and moon and other planets. It was a common motif in medieval and renaissance painting, although perhaps they based it in UFO sightings. Jack Vallée wrote a book comparing the modern phenomena with old legends and fairytales etc. Richard L Thompson also wrote a book touching upon Valée’s work but goes into investigations of public files on sightings and world cultures, particularly Vedic (Hindu). There are reports of people seeing lights in the sky moving throughout history, and it is even said Alexander’s army at Tyre won with the help of flying shields. The shields supposedly followed them around. In 15th century Europe people Reported raining blood, frogs, etc. The book Unexplained Phenomena inspired by Charles Fort is a good summation of such reported accounts.

Define Divine overthinking a joke bro
These depictions of the sun and the moon are quite common in the art of the Middle Ages. It was almost every time the sun and moon were depicted in the paintings (especially religious paintings) of this period 14th-16th centuries, C.E. It was a totally common practice to depict in religious paintings the "opening of the heavens", as a circular opening in the sky, where inside would be an angel, or God's spirit shining forth in rays of light. These types of depictions were also found on maps and calendars.
yeah and they're also found trailing aircraft carriers on a regular basis, even today. very common depiction.
No, they're aliens! Shut up!
Also I like to think that DaVinci and the like were actually transported to their respective time via UFO, and with that technology in their hands they could surely transcend time.

Time is a measurement system that we as humans invented.
How do we know it wasn't mass hysteria?
I've seen the same type of thing when a cloud formation passes in front of the sun. I've also seen greater miracles than this from the Almighty. What you believe and obey from the Lord Jesus Christ will determine your eternal home. Just sayin...

Not to mention aliens would be the centerpiece of like, every painting...
@Mr. H wtf dragons lol
"My wife is a painter, everything is intentional"
Spoken like a true expert.
Perhaps its symbolism?
Fraser Stewart wouldn’t symbolism have to be thought out, planned, and painted? Isn’t that intentional?
Hector Munoz I think he means, rather than it be taken as a man staring up to the skies looking at an extraterrestrial aircraft, there could be a theme of wondering and curiosity instead of the artist blatantly drawing a UFO.
從astari I get that but even that would be intentional to be symbolism. But it is art which is open, most times, to interpretation I might see intention and you may see symbolism. It really is a brilliant thing
Hector Munoz I agree with you that it is intentional, although there could be major symbolism that we can never comprehend, it begs the question of how did these pre-technologically advance people perceived extraterrestrial life, guess we will never know but yeah art is a great way to open minds
Bob Ross said that in art some details were mistakes

It's simply the artists vision of the God of the Sun and The God of the Moon. I don't think there is anything else to it. People in this day and age have a tendency to overthink things because we are inundated with information and opinions whereas the simple and most reasonable thing to do with paintings and images like this is just to rewind your thinking and put yourself in the era of the artist and simply try to think where their thoughts were at given their level of education at the time. We only think of aliens and UFO's because they're prevalent to our current societies and are commonplace in popular and wide-spread thought patterns, however, in this painting, its just a portrayal of yet another couple of Gods.

Modern time: there's aliens in paintings!!!!
Clean your ears out!!
THERE ARE MANY VERY OLD PAINTINGS WITH QUESTIONABLE OBJECTS WHERE YOU WOULDN'T EXPECT TO SEE THEM, MANY, NOT ONE THAT COULD BE OF THE SUN AND THE MOON !!..
There's far more variables to consider than just "is there life out there?"
Odds are almost 100% that ET life exists apart from us on Earth. I think it incredibly unlikely that we'll ever encounter it though.

I am over the moon mate
Me too my alien friend is from Honduras....
WTF
Flashbacks are a biatch
Sounds like a kid playing with a drone
Bro you seem decently scattered on this?
Nephilim not outer space? Why can nephilim not be from outer space?
Please refrain from extensive jabbering because people whom want to counteract NWO lose followers due to jabbering aimlessly.
I agree. Joe should interview the 1st alien. I think that if it was live and people could take the time to really get to ask questions and understand the impact of the situation, it would gradually shift from alarm to fascination.
As an Istanbul native, I had never heard of that story before, after researching a little bit; I can say that it sounds interesting
@@FBRaptor It really is quite remarkable. They have ideas about what caused it, but it still remains very interesting and mysterious.
Fallen angels it could be as well, 1/3 of angels followed Lucifer to earth so you never know
If you did any digging at all, you'd know that the Constantine the Great story is VERY, VERY Hard to pin to down.

Wow. Thats kool. What do remember of that event.?? I Would enjoy reading that. Very interested in this true story.
UniQ I too have seen “moving stars” above my house
C. Librera III That’s so fascinating! Honestly though, wish I had the camera i have now, back then. Wouldn’t that been a good memory to watch 😁

If so, why would they paint them as dark figures instead of brighter, lighter colored figures
Yea, the promise of Valle's thing was there is an intelligence interacting with humans and it seems to mimic what the person's expectation would be of the next generation of technology. People saw faeries, then airships, then atom punk type technology, now it's space aliens.
