Hi Markus. Thanks so much for the ZSYB CL60bi light! It's small and powerful and is now my go-to travel light. Also, your health channel has changed my life!
what type of soft box does it use ?

Thanks for sharing your never-ending quest for lightweight, compact and powerful lights. Your episodes are always a 'fun ride' Mr. Markus.

You’re one of the best review channels
Great stuff, as always. I love that you're just talking to us like real people and showing us things that just work. Bravo.
Thanks for the review! I have 3 of the Colbors. Their build quality is excellent-- the only metal lights of the bunch. An interesting quirk is the bi-color version is basically as powerful as the daylight... and there's very little fluctuation in output as you move through the color temperature range (which is unusual). The lack of umbrella mount is frustrating-- I made my own solution for that-- but you can attach three of them together and they'll fit into one case... along with their power cords. The color temperature is also surprisingly accurate, within 100 degrees for both the bicolor and daylight versions. It's quickly become one of my favorite lights, and I've got a lot of different ones.
I use AD200 mounting brackets, they're smaller anyway and have umbrella holes. www.ebay.com/itm/372738636312?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=372738636312&targetid=1262779896169&device=c&mktype=&googleloc=9030800&poi=&campaignid=14859008593&mkgroupid=130497710760&rlsatarget=pla-1262779896169&abcId=9300678&merchantid=127669479&gclid=Cj0KCQiAgaGgBhC8ARIsAAAyLfFl5QbnEEgIinQm1kXRfyM4itUcWspTiPiU3V3jGu-X0FrWKNG-TOUaAhkrEALw_wcB
@@MarkusPix Thanks for the tip! I'll give it a try.
Really cool to see so many battery-powered lights coming out - especially in the affordable range. Thanks!
Ordered ZSYBN CL60Bi due to price - 71 USD, separately got fresnel lens and will test out the set together with MT-49 Ulanzi carbon stands. Compared to quadralite Thea 450 with - it should cut the weight by 80%(!) and add focused power. Cheers and keep up the awesome work, I think you did not give ZSYB enough attention, they are so cheap, yet NP-F are mounted on top (instead of those atrocious handle-like NP-F battery adapters, usually paid separately.
I have 2 of the Godox ML60s and don't mind the form factor or the even spread of light. Actually, when you need to light up a space in which people are moving around, the even spread actually works to your benefit. I've used these to light up a dance floor to record dance recitals, although I needed to use an ISO of 3200. At some point, though, I may want to get something more powerful, probably in the 200w range. No rush on that, however.
Yes the even flat light is great for many uses
I have 4 of the ML 60bi and use for events. One great aspect is try app function. I can control it all from my phone. I will also purchase possibly something at the 200w range. Maybe the new 250
@@draeknoxmedia Hi there. Does the ML60 bi dim a bit when going from AC to batteries or does the light output stays the same whether AC or battery?
@@TheFandangovideoguy the light stays the same. The neewer brand doesn't dem with the 60 watts but the 150 does. Id honestly get the Neewer 60s over the godox and they are rgb. Wonderful lights and the app is better in my opinion
@@draeknoxmedia I will look into the Neewer lights. QUality has improved a bit it seems. Thanks for the info
I absolutely LOVE your reviews!!! So honest (a hard thing to find anymore, anywhere!) I'm constantly upchucking a bunch of chuckles at your descriptive word usage~ Thank you!!!
Not only you're such a cool guy you're educating people they're watching your to a lot of good information 👍
Thanks Markus, I just picked up 2 60W GVM and Neewer a few weeks ago. The little wellmaking light looks really cool, I am going to check it out for a more portable solution.
Hey Marcus I got your notification it's great to be here watching your I learned so much by you showing your techniques and totally happy just keep making videos Marcus you're just a great guy man 🌞👍👍👍👍💕
I like Godox spreading light onto the dance floor is great with no hotspots.
I have learned so much by you that with the minimum gadgets get the best result. Thanks
Thank you for all of your efforts and a fun channel. I learn a lot from it.
It seems like it would be better to just have the lights plug into a central 12 or 24 volt battery on the ground instead of putting all of that battery weight up on the poles.
I build small power systems with 24 volt packs ( very common in the marine world) and it's really easy and eliminates so many battery packs.
yes that would definitely be good, except for all the long annoying cords, but yes I agree
Thank you for another great review.
Very nice explanation for us, the low cost budget people tryng to do good videos or photos. The reason ill follow you and thumbs up and bells is that you start this video without intros and follow me and blabla never ending blabla of 2 or more minutes is just, wao, you dont make me lose my precious time. Good job on production, thats all we need, congratulations.
The lumens just keep coming! Great video stream by the Master Blaster. Thanks Markus (and Cara). - Jim
You light up our day Markus 😊
Great video. thanks for pointing out the true brightness and ignoring the hyped equivalents.
im buying the ZSYB CL60bi.. because looks soo cute
Thank u so much for your support our ZSYB❤
I bought 2 Colbors because of your previous video. Thanks.
Thank you very much for your videos and for analyzing these quality-price products, many other content creators recommend well-known and expensive brands
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 great info/input as to power range & stops - greatly appreciate these LED light reviews/suggestions !!

Awesome comparative review. I have the amaran 60 bicolor and it’s really good but not powerful as the 60D. I have a question. In the Giveaway why Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 it’s not included? Here we got FedEx, UPS and USPS too.
I absolutely love your channel! You have such great authentic non biased reviews. Have you checked out the Yongnuo YN-216 led video light? There’s a 5600K model and a bi-colored 3200K-5600K, and it can take a Sony NP-F battery, dc power, and AA batteries for power.
Hi Nicolas, that Yongnuo isn't very bright and doesn't create a powerful beam, it's just a bunch of little individual LEDs that spread light in all directions. But it's cute.
I need to invest on some lights.... Thanks Markus for the review!
Thanks for the run through. I'm liking the Colbors
I had the Colbors over for dinner the other day. We munched on sauteed Amaran
@@MarkusPix Very 1950's of you. Who won at the bridge table?
I always enjoy watching your channel(s) Always great info, very insigtful, and entertaining. Thank you for being you.
GREAT VIDEO
fantastic video...I want a COB light for sure...do COB lights maintain the same light output whether using AC or battery? Or do they dim a bit /lot when going from AC to battery? Sometimes I don't get access to AC and I will need the light running on batteries for 30-40 minutes and I want to get the most out of it...thanks!
Thank you very much for this videos. It's help me make a good decision on which light to get.
love your channel very informative
I've discovered your channel while trying to find real life and unsponsored reviews. Excellent resource so hats off to you. I am really interested in the Colbor lights and was considering the 100x but can't find any independent review that compares the CL60 and CL100x. I see that you touched very briefly at the end of the video about there not being so much difference between them. Would very much appreciate it if you elaborate on this point as the difference in price between them is not that much and to my mind it may be better to get the X100 for that little bit of extra output. (I will be using the light through a softbox so wondering if that little extra would help. Many thanks and keep up the great work.
If you search my user name, I made a list for myself comparing the brightness for different lights I'm interested in. But here's a more direct list to what you've stated:
Base COB & with Reflector (at 1 meter unless otherwise noted. 1 footcandle [1 lumen per foot] = 10.7639104167 lux)
3243lux/301fc & 22540lux/2093fc (CL60M - 5600K daylight only)
2843lux/265fc & 19665lux/1829fc (CL60 - bi-color)
(CL100X - bi-color)
3,680lux/342fc & 25,070lux/2,323fc (at 1 meter)
590lux/55fc & 2,392lux/222fc (at 3 meters)
“…4-pound, ridiculous, big clunky thing.”
Cracks me up!”
Yes, that's my high tech lingo
Love your videolight series
Thank you Olaf
Markus, please answer this: I bought 3 Wellbeings lights based on your review. I am not able to remove the Bowen's mount by unscrewing it off without the plastic lens falling off (it's held in place through the Bowens mount). How did you keep it in place after removing the Bowens mount? Did you glue the lens in?! I would really appreciate you sharing what you did. Thanks!
Screw the tiny screws back in with tiny washers or just use some crazy glue. I've done it both ways
@@MarkusPix Thabk you! You are the best!! :)
I was worried crazy glue would melt with heat but will try it.
here's a shot showing both ways ua-cam.com/video/dqZrp9zLiT0/v-deo.html
Quick question...
I like the look of that godox battery pack handle ... does it fit and work with the aperture unit?
Thanks for that man!
Yes that is the cutest little late with the case and all that is sharp I like that
Very great and informative video review of different lights, especially the portable and ones small in size really helpful for traveling. Great video breaking down different options and their pros and cons.
Regarding the ZYSB-CL60 light, Can I ask your opinion if this light at full power can just light a backlit subject in the shade with the sun behind them just starting to set or nearing golden hour? With no modifiers just bare bulb and reflectoer, considering it's just 3 stops less bright than the Amaran
Anyways great video, keep up the great work, God bless
Wellmaking light is so good for run and gun wow
Amaran lights! ♥️👍🏻
Buddy, you are just flippin' Coo Coo! but, thank you for being Coo Coo! amazing
Godox is from China I believe so the Amaran is technically Chinese too. In fact maybe most brands for pro lighting are manufacturing in China.
Basically, for most products it is the brand that sells the product more than ita qualities it feels to me. I remember back in 2017-2018 when Godox were way cheaper before they became a well-known brand and they still provided goos quality for the price.
Hi Markus - i have been doing this for about a year and when i started, i had no idea how excited i would get about light & shadow. And thank god i found you - i thought i was strange that i loved lighting so much... you are an inspiration.... my question..... in my setup up i take photos and video at the same time. i use Panasonic cams for video and lumix s5 for photo. can you suggest a good in-between lighting set up using a 3/4 light set-up..... SPACE IS A PREIUM so think of a box room. Please keep up the great work
So cool ! Could you make a rewiew of the ZSYB 500W, please? Thanks.
That's not a portable lights.
This is crazy how good and inexpensive lighting is getting. I spent a ton on big clunky lights I started with. Now I have the Stella pro lights (also expensive). I’d love to hear your thoughts on the Sony fx30. I know it’s a video first cam but it is super compact.
I returned mine
Now you have to try the Zhiyun 60 and 100. Those are smaaaall!!
Tomorrow's video
I am tired of collecting lights. Every 6 months there's a smaller better one. Frankly, some of my favorite images were done with the old-school clip-on lights. Yes, I'm an OG, with the emphasis on the "O"🤣
Thanks for another great video and the giveaway!!!
Another great video. Thank you sir.
📌 Hi Markus, Thanks for another great video review. You currently show the Cobol in 2 videos and because this info is quite important for other prospective buyers, I'm posting this comment for both. I mainly bought the video light because of the USB option, because connecting it to a power bank seemed ideal to me. I already had enough video lights, but without a USB connection. However, no USB power bank works with the Cobol, because it turns out to be no ordinary USB. This is because it is a 20-volt USB connection and to supply it with 5.2 volts, you need quite a few amps. Fortunately I bought the model with a V-mount and I think I will buy a V-mount battery. These are quite expensive and that is why I have to look closely at which model it will be. A small disappointment perhaps, but fortunately there are many possibilities nowadays and there is a solution for everything. You will also lose your money if you are not careful. BTW it's great to see the enthusiasm of you and your wife. Because of this I have to watch out, because the temptation is great for me to buy too much. In addition, Amazon quickly increases prices after your video and the pricing in the Netherlands is already about 30% higher. Thank you for all your wonderful videos and tips. It always makes me very happy and it is a pleasure to watch. Warm regards from the Netherlands. 👍🏻🙋🏻♂️
hey Markus, now that you're talking about power, would you do a video on power alternatives for cameras? I mean, when you need to do long shootings (like events) and you have to carry like 10 batteries.
I'm looking into the Tethertools on Site relay, and the SmallRig adapter for powerbank (can't remember the model number). Seems like powerbanks for powering cameras is a thing now. I've seen that you can power the camera, an external monitor and a led lamp with just one for about 3 hours.
Great video. Thanks Markus
I tried searching your channel, have you done a review of the Raleno 80w LED Studio light? I just got it, uses two NP batteries. I am working with it this week to find the setup for my portrait work.
Do you mean this Raleno? ua-cam.com/video/uQUo3NCJNaI/v-deo.html
@@MarkusPix No, the RALENO 80W LED Studio Video Light, Continuous Lighting with 5600K 7200Lux@1M CRI 95+ Brightness Adjustable, Efficiency Cooling Fan and Bowens Mount, for UA-cam Outdoor Video Recording Photography
Good video as always, thanks 🙏
Markus we need your take on the new ZHIYUN MOLUS X100 & G60 | 100W & 60W
ua-cam.com/video/s_lEnCUt6Kc/v-deo.html
Looks like some new players to the ultra-small LED lights. Although a bit expensive the new ZHIYUN MOLUS G60 & MOLUS X100 LED Lights are super small for their output. You might want to check these out.
The MOLUS X100 has a battery whereas the G60 does not.
I've gone through so many lights from China lately that say "100W" when they are actually referring to the light from an old 100w light bulb, and they all turn out diappointingly weak, and then bi-color to make it even weaker. The Amaran 60D is still the best, not counting the amazingly bright and super small Stella Reflex, nothing comes close, but it has fan noise
@@MarkusPix I agree with you 100% but you need to see the size of X100. I don't think you can get anything smaller .
The Stella Reflex is much smaller and a LOT brighter! ua-cam.com/video/k3jlWb87i54/v-deo.html
@@MarkusPix I realized that now after re-watching your video.
Have you tried the wellmaking in a bowens mount softbox? Wondering if the fresnel head prevents it from adequately spreading the light across the diffuser.
Yeah it has a Hotspot
So are you just saying the amaran is brighter in all these situations because of throw? But what if you do put it in a softbox? That would be nice to know what the difference is especially in the zhiyun review.
I am waiting for you to invent the combination shotgun mic, wellbeing style video light, & ad200 style flash unit -- all remote to your camera!! Cheers man!
I haven't used shotguns in 5 years
What's the difference between colbor cl-60 & colbor cl-60m?
Thank you for the review Markus! Do you know if the ZSYB has a brightness increase when using the power supply instead of the battery? I have had lights that do that and am curious if this is the case?
Sorry big blob, I gave it away so I don't know
@@MarkusPix darn. Thanks for the reply, though
Your wife makes a good camera ! She has learned a lot from You.
yes she's getting good with it
So, not an Amaran is brighter, it just has reflector with the hotspot. :(
👍👍👍

@@MarkusPix 🕺🏾
Great information.
Hi, i buy the colbor cl60 but I can't use with batterys, can you help me with the name of the np adapter?
The ZSYB says it has app control, but didnt found any place to download, does anyone found?
you have been in the business for a long time. do you think all the extra money is worth image Stabilization.
Depends on what you do. For me, it's not that necessary because most of what I do is flash photography and videos where the camera is on a stand.
How do I get the fee lights
Markus! I'm getting a mirrorless medium format camera! Have you ever shot with medium format?
I used to have a Mamiya 645 and Speed Graflex 4x5
A 100W incandescent bulb makes around 6W worth of light. So if there is any truth to their claims, it's more likely a 6W or 10W LED in the first one. 60W from two camcorder batteries would only give you around an hour at full power.
Super bro
Hey Markus, if you had your pick and you could only choose 1 would it be the wellmaking or the colbor light which you show us? Also in the question of which one is; the quietest, the brightest output and easy to use as in plug in and play etc. Thank you!
The Colbor is the brightest of the 2, The Wellbeing is the smallest and easiest to use. Both are quiet.
@@MarkusPix Thanks Markus!
I love the Colbor. And the app which you can control it with remotely is a blessing.
Thanks so much for this. Do you have any recommendations for small and lightweight soft boxes, to pair with the Colbor CL60 or Amaran 60D, for video interview shoots? Specifically one that, when packed down, can fit into a 60cm-tall wheely kit bag. Thanks again!
There are lots of them, you're talking to the kind of small and lightweight 😄 I personally like the Glow Grand Box 32 and the Godox 120cm umbrella softbox, both featured in this video, you should watch the whole thing ua-cam.com/video/5rEvlerZUy0/v-deo.html
@@MarkusPix Amazing! Thank you! I was looking for a video like that in your playlists but for some reason couldn't find it. Unfortunately the Glow Grand Box 32 isn't being sold any more - at least not in the UK. I think the Godox 60cm pop-up that you cover might be a good solution - they do an 80cm one which would be closer to the 32inch Glow in size too. Thanks again!
The pop up one isn't as lightweight though and it droops a bit. The Godox umbrella softboxes are the lightest. Can you get stuff from Adorama here in the States? They have all kinds of lightweight Glow softboxes.
@@MarkusPix Thanks again - unfortunately the Glow Grand isn't currently sold on the Adoram any more (and I think import costs would make it a bit silly priced in total). The Colbor CL60 attachment doesn't have an umbrella socket, so I saw in your review of the light you swapped it for a hot-shoe mount and an attachment from an AD200. Can you recommend where to get a mount and attachment like that separately? Thanks!
Did he not tell us the relative brightness of the Wellmaking?
