Has the inability to live record new layers been fixed? Can it jam record external sounds now? I heard the skip back can be set to external input but haven't figured out the settings.
Great tutorial thanks - mine should arrive very soon and i'm looking forward to making some beats - this thing is hotter than a fire in a tumble dryer !
Nice tutorial vid mate. This might be a stupid question, but how can I tell what software update my SP hardware is on? I got an Sp404k2 secondhand, so I have the hardware, but don't know what version it's on, and don't have the manual or anything so UA-cam is my only resource. looking forward to getting into some nice jazzy chops ;)
Something I do to work on drums faster: I’ll rec a 1 bar pattern with my long synth recordings set to one shot. Then I’ll TR-Rec my drum patterns in. It saves me time not having to draw every individual drum bar of an 8 bar loop.
You forgot to show how to resample. You said this was for beginners but you started out great then started doing thing without saying what you were clicking or doing. First half video very helpful. Second half e useless
Respect for going beyond the usual genre category of this instrument, monotony and limitation are not what brings hope and development. But I’m surprised by the manual technique of hitting the clap on the pads, is this really the kind of music production we deserve?
Generally I like playing with the pads to add a human element to whatever is being played. The point is not the cleanest and most precise input, the point is to be a little rough with it and enjoy that as a sound vs what you get with a daw which can sound too clean and sometimes boring. This is also just a demo.
It doesn’t matter what the external gear is? It could be anything with a line in. Tutorials usually work best when you watch more than the first few minutes.

fuckin bus fx!
Might be the best beginner video to jump right into this. I'm thinking about buying this and out of all the videos this one is the best.
Hell yeah, glad it was helpful

Should I do a 'restore factory settings' thing if I can find it? or would I then loose anything important?
Go to “utility” then “system” and the version is the tab all the way to the right
Great Video! Thanks for posting
Thank you!!
4:50 I've been experiencing that a lot recently with recording my SP jams on video and having the mic cut out 😤
Not my favorite feature!
Amazing video, thank you so much
Thank you!! 😊

TR Rec is cool, I enjoy playing the drums in but having that mode as another tool is amazing.
Mate! Youre seriously making me want to buy one of these!! Solid video
Thanks man. You should def look into it.
Very kind video here, basic is so helpful.
That’s what I was going for, glad you liked it!
We can see the wave list of seeds inside ❓❓

lol there’s literally a chapter marker in the description for the resampling section. It’s useful to pay attention.
Don't do multiple takes. Just sync with midi
I like to have some raw non quantized takes but yes midi sync is a cool feature
Thanks this was great!
Glad you liked it!
What cable are you using to connect S-1 ans SP?
Headphone to stereo trs
Shame you didn’t go back and add audio where it cut out I have no idea what was going on there
In retrospect I probably should have added audio at that point
Very helpful, thank you.
Glad to hear it!
Super useful TY!
You’re welcome ☺️

LOL, sure this will help later, showed me how to start a new project then went on to use external gear.....WTF?

Thank you sir!
