- Did you know there’s another popular textile besides the KishuThara, that doesn’t get as much coverage as its far more vibrant counterpart?
The traditional Buray textile, a silk and cotton weave, is another textile treasure that comes from eastern Bhutan. There's a quaint little village under Radhi gewog in Trashigang, where a handful of households weave this textile but the story here is a lot more intricate than the motifs they've been weaving for generations.
Thank you so much for showing my lovely village! That's the undeniable truth of rural-urban migration and degradation of culture, tradition and craftmanship.
Found your channel by chance and safe to say i'm not disappointed. My first visit to Bhutan has left me yearning for more. Will definitely visit again. Keep up the good work ✌️
It’s very beautiful work.
Ana Ngawang is so pretty. Her soul reflects through her warm beautiful smile.

Where are you from
I'm glad the 11 year old girls are no longer weaving and most likely are now going to school. 10 hours is a very long work day! Do men ever learn how to weave?
Men ploughing the fields.
The arts that are are part of our rich civilzational history are dying. Children must grow up again in their indigenous culture and ways and relearn their traditional arts. Schooling and traditional arts need to be fused.
