Man I found your MoFi videos 2 weeks ago now.. Here in East Texas in the "sticks" on a dead end road, only option WAS satellite... until now... MoFi4500 Sim7 purchased, installed.. Parabolic will arrive tomorrow, running a single yagi at the moment with Visible.. only issue I had with Visible was putting the damn Sim card in upside down.. put in a couple settings and BAM! it works.. Tower is 6 miles away through trees similar to your home. Did the left read signal Right read signal til we had the best signal the yagi would give us.. Pings are around 100, averaging 20 down 11 up, hit 50 down at 2:30am once lol.. Signal strength 64%, RSSI -73 dbm, ECIO -11, RSRP -103. as I type this. I'll mess with the parabolic this weekend to see if I can get the signal strength up. Thank you for your service and for putting the videos together. You rock man!
@@josee9301 change the APN settings in the mofi go to mofi internal modem and scroll down select visible from the list and make sure under provider selector it is set in generic after all that reboot and it should come on
@@rockernro i did change the APN and the internet light on the mofi would turn on and turn off and it repeats so idk if i need to get a different sim card or what
Im using band 66, attempted to turn band lock to yes here, rebooted... the connection turned to chit.. off and on so turned it back to NO.. all seems stable again... lots to learn... my journey continues....
Found your videos as I was building my setup. Appreciate the effort you put into them. I'm now getting around 36 ping, 31 down, and 7 up. I've put up similar setups for 3 other families now. Just cruising along until Elon comes through with Starlink! My town has been selected as one of the first cities for the ground stations, so I'll let you know how well that's working once it's up. Hearing good things, though!
Hey John, I have some questions about your 8800L mifi solution you did a few years ago. I did a similar solution and it has served me well, but I am having a performance problem with the device itself with over heating and using a ton of data. did you any problems with that device? It reports bogus data usage and turns off a random times.
I’ve since upgraded that way because of battery swelling and it’s small. I found a device that works the exact same only difference is it can be run continuously and takes your sim. Look at my channel check out the mofi 4500 videos. That device works much better than a hotspot. It basically is a hotspot router combo. Only thing is you’d have to get creative and maybe add your own antennas if you really want maximum download speeds etc. Major providers aren’t offering truly unlimited data however there’s ways around it. I believe t-mobile is providing rural internet options now so you could potentially get a sim and a setup from them. Or..Visibile has an unlimited plan they are tied to Verizon. Lastly, on eBay there’s sellers that will rent you sims and charge ya a monthly fee for service. Hope this helps look at my other videos since not knowing what else besides an 8800L the Mofi device was a game changer

AT&T just zapped my sim plan again which was in an LB1120 modem for not being in the original device. I’m starting from scratch and want to use visible. I’m going through your videos now but I want to get things ordered and heading this way. I already have my yagi antennas up from before.
John Barth I’m sure you’ve mentioned this somewhere in a previous video and I read a couple of comments about carrier aggregation allowing for multiple channels And better speed but I honestly don’t know at this point which is better. With or without? I’ll keep digging into your videos to see.
Hey John, I'm using 2 11dbi yagis in my attic directly connected to mofi sim4 with at&t sim. Im getting under -100 sig strength and 11 to 9.5 quality. but my download speeds are less than 10mbps upload at 5. Average down is 5mbps. I have tried all the aggregation and tweaking you talk about band 12 is best but slow and 2,4,and 5 are hit or miss. I have played with the antennas to get 15 down but in 30 min its back to 5.. Help!!
So couple things what band has the highest MHz? First your quality is lower bc it’s in attic there will be some degrading there. So..did you hard wire the mofi to a good router? Secondly. Ensure WiFi is set on channel one with 2.4 ghz don’t use 5ghz on home router. This is the most important. You are using yagis! They suck and are inconsistent. I highly recommend getting a parabolic for your primary and maybe use the Yagi or use both yagis as the secondary. You ask “but John they mofi only has 2 antenna ports that won’t work using a parabolic and 2 yagis.” Well actually yes it will because you need to find a combiner! I know WIRENG sells them they look like a little T metal pole you connect 2 yagis into one. Make sense? Hope this helps. But a parabolic will get you way more gain. Way more gain = way more speed! 😉
John i got a question. I used a visible and I get like 159 ping 8-15 down 10 up. My signal is 85-100 and quality 10.5-13.5 band locked on 4 and 13. I have one outside antenna im going to buy a log periodic soon. I put an att sim in and speed where 6 down and up but the ping was 39 and changed nothing but the card. Any tips on getting faster speeds and lower ping
@@rockernro I know how it works but want to use the Mofi for tethering off of my phone so I can use the phone's data. It supports tethering for that purpose
Alberteezy 21 I have I have a paypal it you wanna buy me another mofi sim 4 please and an unlimited sim! 😂😂. It would be almost pointless bc then I’d have to try and re-coop the cost from mofi by saving in the sim plan monthly. So yeah trust me the thought crossed my mind but I pay 125$ with spectrum for 100mbs and cable. I probably could use any provider here bc surrounded by towers makes me 😯 lol getting 30-50 down on my Verizon here
Thanks, John! Question for you, master of Mofi. I have my mofi4500 connected to my PS4, and I'm having trouble with it disconnecting while downloading large files (ie games and game updates) -- it will download probably a gig or so then loses connection. Any insight?

plz help. i got the mofi 4500 sim 7 router and i have visible but i do not know how to get visible to work the the router

Thaddeus Cedillo article released. Was around 6 cities. Local paper picked it up and informed us.

Sim 4 has carrier Aggregation and sim 7 doesn’t so chose wisely

James Mccoy hmm get a parabolic grid a log will help but parabolic is a million times better! THAT is how you fix that

That’s not what it’s for the mofi is the source for LTE out your sim in the mofi
@@rockernro I know how it works but want to use the Mofi for tethering off of my phone so I can use the phone's data. It supports tethering for that purpose
