There's only one trick I think they're missing to make this mod PERFECT. For the boss intro cutaways, when it's Peppino it renders him in this muscly, ultra-detailed Shonen/western comic book style. For the mod I think they could take it above and beyond by rendering their female equivalents in that ultra thin lined 80s bishoujo fantasy style, big wild hair and eyes with too many highlights. Really lean into it, you know?
They shouldn’t get mad at the internet being the internet. They made a mod making the male main character a female, they should know the repercussions by now.

It has been confirmed by Peppina's original creator that Peppina is in fact Peppino's Niece, she's in highschool and is working part time at Peppino's Pizza.
Love how the original Vigi (technically) still appears in the phase 2 background of the boss fight along with Noise appearing in the background of the Noise-Chan fight. Shows that these characters STILL canonically exist here along with Peppino, they just get significantly less spotlight.

I love how in this context it feels more like Noisette is a mom dragging off an unruly kid. Or she somehow can’t tell the difference between Chan and regular Noise and the latter set her up
i really love the detail of Peppina and even Gustava getting so angry on the TV when you do the lap 2! Also Peppina has a special animation when you enter to a secret. those details makes more interesting the mod.
Gustava is ready to throttle you for this. Peppina looks truly terrified in Lap 2, where Pizza Time gave her the expression "My crush just overheard that I like him, I'm screwed!"
Gotta say, i like the added touch of the OG bosses showing up in the background supervising their counterpart's fights. Its a neat little touch. Gotta say its a wonderfully made mod so its nice to see more updates on it. I remember seeing the original art on the internet that most likely inspired it. its neat.
The mod creator might be working on that soon enough. But it would take a long time to replace all of pepino’s sprites. Seriously that sprite count is absolutely insane

Not gonna lie, the technical difficulties card with Peppina in a cast saying Peppino in it was really cute. You just know Peppino does care for his… sister? Niece? I’m not all that familiar with the Peppina lore, but it’s a very nice touch.
I like that everyone acknowledges and accepts the fact that the Peppina sprite is just really tall. I am painfully biased towards character height differences, I think it's a cute detail when she taunts with Peppino and has to crouch down. It's cartoonish and almost feels intentional when her sprite just slightly clips through things or gets obscured. It feels like something this game would do, anyways. It's a wonderful mod and I support the developer's creativity.
Gustava’s tv during lap 2 is like: “ARE YOU @#$&ING KIDDING ME!!??” Also Peppina’s version of the “WAR” title card looks and feels way more horrifying.

I like how Fake Peppina keeps the distorted appearance but instead of uncanny valley she's just more angular like a rougher drawing of Peppina so she's still got some cuteness too. Hopefully that carries over into the actual boss fight when it's done. Also a nice touch how Peppergirl uses the artist motiff to fill in Pepperman's shoulder charge with the painted cutout of his arm.

They got the style they were looking for down pretty well, but I do wish that Peppina has a bit more motion on some of her sprites. Some of them come off as a bit stiff. The worst one for me being the superjump cancel. I feel like if they gave her a little spin when she goes into the knee, it would feel a lot more natural.
While it's kinda strange where you have moments Peppina's sprite becomes Peppino, her mouth being transparent to the background, and Gustava's sprite becoming Gustavo at times, I like the idea. Hell, I wish this was an official Tour De Pizza DLC.

A story line I’ve made (which is entirely fan made by me) Peppina is peppinos cousin. (Hence the last name difference.) and is working at peppinos pizza. But pizza head has somehow rebuilt the tower and is trying to lure peppinos close relative into the tower to do *something*. But peppino sees this and try’s to stop her by chasing her in the opening cutscene. But he fails and they are trapped in the tower. So with no way out peppino teaches peppina how to successfully “beat” the tower by the movesets, combos, and all of that. The reason peppino can’t is because he already did that and is TIRED AT HELL! But peppino will try to protect peppina. Hence the title card in oregano desert.(The bosses are gender swapped and I don’t really have an explanation other than pizza head got new people. Also this is VERY FAR FETCHED, so don’t take this seriously.)
Easter Eggs: 18:41 Pepperman is looking outside the Window. 20:33 The Vigilante can be seen next to the Cactus. 23:27 The noise is the Camera men for Noise-chans TV.
Oddly enough, this fits into the alfan theory that Kobeni from Chainsaw Man is actually Peppino's Daughter. This is just Kobeni actually being useful for once lol, likely before the events of Chainsaw Man.
I honestly think that for the armor transformation they can give her some samurai armor. If Paola Spaghetti can have a tank she can have Japanese armor
