@@diversezebra6754 That was my plan too! But I ran out of time and only watched this video before my event tonight, so I went with this deck and had a blast playing it! Did you also play a deck today??
Thanks and you are very welcome! I’ve really enjoyed the starter decks and the formats using the starter decks so far so will most definitely keep up future reviews for them.
I'm really digging the new Amethyst low-drops like Llama Kuzco and HeiHei. I like this starter a bit more than the Amber/Sapphire one BUT it's hard to deny the power of a Turn 2 Shifted The Queen. I enjoy all your content!
For constructed the amethyst steel has the needed cards for bounce, for limited I felt the sapphire Amber just had the better ability to draw cards and go wide with big booty characters
I could see some good combos with a bit of tweaks. A bounce deck is pretty cool for gaining those lore counters and avoiding a challenge on merlin. I'm enjoying this deep dives you are doing. Thank you. Like #97
I really want this deck, but my LGS is handing them out at random for sealed okay this Saturday. The deck, plus 2 packs, and two extra packs after the sealed event.
@@kendramathes I guess I'll find out at noon... If you want I'll let you know what my LGS says, if it's universal rules, or specific to each different GS.
@@edwardmorse6283Someone tonight was calling him the immortal chicken every time we played him. So much fun! But he was only almost immortal as Kronk did banish him for good once. 😢
Both are much better than Chapter 1 decks but I would lean towards Steel Amethyst just do to the recursion and resist getting a lot of value out of your characters
I think you shoud alwasy use Cinderella ability ;) You draw 1st., then discard - so You can always discard the card You just drew, but maby You will draw the best card in deck:)
@@HobbyHeroPlays-oi8jt Question is then, if its still not proper play. Generaly if You have no cards in hand, then You put the top card of Yours deck in grave. I'am not any expierence player in Lorcana, so iam not sure here - but in other games (like MTG) its still proper to do it - becose ther is bigger chance You will put the "weaker" card then the best card in the deck in grave, so you increase Yours chance to draw the "best" card.
@@MareczqZglos generally would only play Cinderella if there is a card you want to get rid of in your hand or a very specific card you are digging for. Otherwise you run the risk of drawing something you way want later and having to discard it. For example you play her on turn two with four good cards that allow you plays for next two turns. You activate her ability and draw a 7 drop that is a key piece for the matchup but isn’t inkable. Now you have to either pitch it and risk not having it later when you need it or pitch one of the cards that were going to be your tempo plays for next two turns. Same for when you have an empty hand; you have no idea what the top card is and as such risk drawing your optimal play and discarding it. Unlike Magic the banish zone is much less accessible than discard pile so when something hits banish it’s usually gone for good.
Which deck are you choosing for starter deck challenges?

I’d choose this steel/am starter
Dude, these 2 videos covering these starters are freaking awesome! They've gone way above what I was hoping to find! Thank you for these!

Thanks! I’m right there with ya. This deck has a lot of value cards in it which is going to make it hard to beat in a limited format.
Once that turn 2 Queen is showing up x4 in a constructed deck, ima be scared to face her!! 😂

Good talking to you last night! Good luck today! Good breakdown!
Thanks! How did you guys do last night?
I split for 1st and got 7 packs

Much-needed breakdown. Thank you.

Thank you for this! Just getting into Lorcana so deciding what starters I need for bulk!
You are very welcome!
Very good content. Good comments on the cards new and Chapter 1.
Thank you very much
Nice amy/steel challenger deck with a few tricks, excited to try using some of the new shenanigans in my existing amy/steel from ch1.
Love the Amethyst/Steel love
I personally think this deck is the strongest of the two-better draw, better characters, and better control.
I would agree. A lot of value in a lot of these characters to create advantage
#30 Thanks for the great overviews before we get to play tomorrow.
You are very welcome
For constructed the amethyst steel has the needed cards for bounce, for limited I felt the sapphire Amber just had the better ability to draw cards and go wide with big booty characters
I ended up playing both over the weekend and felt Steel Amethyst was slightly better but also slightly harder to pilot
Nice in depth video so juiced for this new set. Hopefully we can get our hands on this more easily
Definitely going to be short supply but hopefully set one taught the LGSs better ways to get them to players

Yeah, Amethyst bounce will definitely see some play. Too much synergy to ignore.
Like #16 Gotta love Merlin, art is phenomenal!
Art is so good for this game
#37 - I’m running this one, definitely to try the new Resist keyword
It’s pretty strong especially in limited format
It felt like it changed my play style quite a bit tonight with the new resist component. But it was fun learning how to use it effectively.

Excited for this deck and this set!
A lot of staples in both decks this time. I like that they seem to be doing it on purpose based on these and set 1 starters.
Like #53 Love the wizard's battle theming of the deck.
I think Mim and Merlin were done very well

So three pack to build with?? You could have a whole new deck!
@@HobbyHeroPlays-oi8jt exactly, that's if the pulls are favorable. Is sealed play the same like other sealed play, where you can use any colors?
@@Dragonia9 well that should add a ton of flexibility
@@Dragonia9I’m not sure about the color restrictions. I wonder if LGSs get any say in that or if there’s a very specific laid out approach. 🤔

Bounce that goat. Definitely a fun looking deck
Bouncing any of the Merlins is a good time 💪
Like #12 this deck seems pretty strong but I guess we'll find out tomorrow
I think you can with either but I do feel like this one is a stronger overall choice
Merlin rabbit is absolutely insane. It’s a 4mana 3for1.
Yeah, he’s very good. I like him better in constructed but still good in limited
I think this deck is really interesting, I am interested to see how bounce does versus discard.
In my very small amount of testing bounce seems better as a supplement than the focus of the deck.
