Very interesting observation, I never connected the dots myself. I guess the only difference is in the case of the Menora was the command of GD and in the golden calf was the work of the people. To add to your insight, it also reminds me of the sons of Aharon that offered a foreign fire and we're consumed. How about the bush caught on fire but not being consumed. Or in the case of purification of the capture of the metal vessel booties after the war that had to be put in fire for purification. Your keen observation just opened up many chapters I hadn't thought about. But in all such cases although the fire never changed but the intention behind utilizing the fire made all the difference. If one wants to understand and solve issues you have to dig up the root and look for the rot. So basically the problem is that everyone feels diminished inside of themselves, and being compared to others when put together with others whose thoughts and actions which are not exactly as their maybe they worry they have to defend their thoughts and their outlook They worry about losing stature being made fun of losing students and losing income. This means the realization that nothing can be taken away from you, because everything is coming from Hashem is not being trusted or more accurately understood. Very interesting
How come the menorah was in the Holy of Holies when the Romans asked Yosef to go in and get whatever he wanted? Is t it supposed to be in the Holy Place?
