Adam's an interesting guy. It's apparently become something of a joke that he's always sad or is dead on the inside, but from the way he talks, it sounds like he's really getting fulfillment from his current job, doing what he loves and constantly being around great co-workers. He's surprisingly optimistic and he also has a great sense of humor that shows more in earlier Inside Gaming videos where he talked more since the Bruce and James schtick wasn't established yet.
As someone who's been going to the gym for about a decade, Bruce's story at the end had me squirming because of how unsafe it was. NEVER put your hands on those plates! Never put them under the plates, never put them on top of the plates, just don't touch the plates! If the pin is stuck and the plates are out of alignment, tell a member of gym staff and let them fix it. You're a squishy human with lots of bits and pieces that are very easy to snap or crush. Those machines can do a lot of damage if you're not careful at all times.
I've been a "fan" of Markipliers since his Slender videos. Back then he had just over 1,000 views on each video and his videos gave exactly what I was seeking. When I looked at other videos, it was just a lot of half-assing and overly winded chatter. Markiplier played the games and made it enjoyable to watch and listen to him, he has a great voice and if he wanted, like Adam said, MArkiplier could easily go into Voice Over work. His popularity is surprising because his humor is very relatable for me, I guess because we grew up in the same generation so those jokes he has are familiar. Markiplier really is a good person. I would have thought it was an act, but he is a legitimately good guy who does donate to charity, who does interact with his fans, and hell, if he wanted, he could be a Funhaus member and fit right in with ease.

I'll be honest, I love Bruce's straightforwardness and realism in responding to these kind of issues- it's quite refreshing to see someone make observations without treading into over-exposition or over-wariness in relation to the issue, he says it how he sees it. Also Adam and Lawrence are pretty cool too.
After discussing if they have enough time to talk about how Bruce broke his finger, its started buffering right after Bruce said "I was at the gym and..". Adam speaks the truth. I mean its the reason I converted from Rooster Teeth (I still watch them but not every single video) to Funhaus full time. I watch every video even if the game involved isn't interesting. The point is you guys are interesting and I can feel you guys having fun instead of being corporate. Oh my god, I'm not the only one who thinks to myself... "Softshell jacket... +10 Defense.... But Turtleneck sweater...... +7 Intel, and +2 Charisma...."
Your channel is an oasis of intellectually and emotionally intelligent conversation in a sea of youtube gahbage. thanks for doing what yall do, keep it up!
Just wanted to comment on the "Fix for Crunch Time". I'm a software developer, and in a lot of ways, game dev is software dev; some of the tools are different, but most of the processes and practices are the same. My last employer had crunch time once a quarter, even though we had several "linchpin" developers. Adam is pretty much correct, you can't "fix" crunch time without doing things that could be very detrimental to the business (shipping late, or cutting features, for example). What you CAN do is give developers an active stake in the product. There's lots of ways to accomplish this; equity, stock options, and bonuses are just a few. If the incentive your employer gives you for putting in lots of overtime is that you get to keep your job, then chances are there they don't really care about you that much. That's effectively how interns are treated. This might reduce crunch time, but won't get rid of crunch time. At a minimum it will make people involved in crunch time feel like their efforts are appreciated and rewarded.
I'm pleased they did this as a theme for their Dude Soup. Funhaus is my favourite UA-cam channel and I always enjoy hearing their opinions as I generally think they're fair, mostly unbiased and sincere. Thank you.
Just one question ... *WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE WANT TO KNOW* *THE ADDRESSES OF THESE GUYS !?* Wow, some people are really lonely and desperate for attention.
I appreciate your guys' approach to issues. Most conflict is not handled so delicately and I appreciate it. I feel the best approach to any conflict is proper communication and often times things get blown out of proportion due to miscommunication issues. So, thanks for keeping an open mind and showing that people make statements with intentions, regardless of whether they are inherently good or bad. Gives everyone a better perspective of things.
And what they mean with "drama" is stuff like random children accusing UA-camrs of copying others. Wow, PDP and MP are really fighting for a better world. Not like TotalBiscuit though, who keeps trying to tell people that nontroversies (like this one) are a waste of everyone's time and thought.
Actually, if both Felix and Mark start promoting small channels they think are cool that would really move the scales because they are so big, Felix especially - He gave Jack a huge kickstart. And Mark only mentioned Patrick in one video and sent 100 000 subs his way before the guy even had content yet. Imagine what they can do with that fame if they are actually up for it? Pewds has more followers than many countries have citizens.
I think the 'good' community of UA-cam are the people who just don't comment. they're there to enjoy your content and that's fucking fantastic. this may be a little bit of backwards thinking, but the idea of community interaction is never fulfilled in the UA-cam comments section. genuine fans and appreciation are usually found in Facebook groups and Reddit threads. I rarely have an interest on opinions in these comment sections. and usually when they appear it gets abnormally shit on by those with opposing views. Only when you seek out opinion pieces to an obscene or controversial videos (or any videos) is when a community is truly willing to engage in discussion which on the rare occasion doesn't boil down to a war of religion and sexuality. Me simply having this observation and commenting in the very platform which, I'm saying is irrelevant, has a tone of irony that I find amusing.
+Michael Waye I see your point, but you can see true conversation in the comments. You have to scroll a bit, but it's there. Especially when the content creator ask for an opinion. I mainly see it on smaller channels such as Open World Games. It's there. I see your point though, there are a lot of times I do not comment. Like on Seananners videos. I love his videos, and only sometimes I comment.
Have you guys considered hosting more Dude Soups with a guest that chooses/is the discussion topic? I really enjoy when the Screwattack and RT guys join in! For this one in particular having Pewdiepie or Markiplier on to discuss their comments would be informative.
'markiplier could read the back of a cereal box and id be fine' yep...same here...i started watching his video cause his voice was just so soothing even when he's acting up lmao
I'm happy you got some sort of treatment Bruce. One time I did something stupid and completely disconnected my right clavicle from my sternum. If you don't know what those words mean, look it up because it didn't feel too good. I went to the doctor and he proceeded to tell me that it wasn't broken, and that I tore a muscle, and that I just needed to take aspirin. Which was complete bullshit. The X-Ray I took 3 weeks later verified it was basically broken. So I basically had to go through a month with burning pain and without a cast. I basically had to makeshift my own cast. I completely lost hope in the medical industry after that event.
I think a point you guys may have missed is the Indy scene. Developers who are burnt out on being told what to do, working crazy hours for no additional compensation, and having their artistic visions comprimised are now increasingly moving smaller, independant design studios. They may still work as many hours, or more, at times, but its by their own choice instead of instigated by management.
+Dornaden Yeah, Funhaus is one of the only channels on UA-cam that have real personalities and never clickbait for views, just honest and logical responses
parker d Yeah, clickbait in the sense to make it more interesting, but no boobs in the thumbnail and it is always in topic, which is fine in my opinion, they never say in a video about Suicide Squad MARGOT ROBBIE PROBABLY HAS CANCER and that is not even slighty mentioned in the video
Hanane No I just found the situation funny. How come on this channel everybody gets butthurt about jokes, but on others everybody just has a good time?
XD Lawrence is really smart. They guy talks like a teacher, but when they're talking, I'm thinking in something and then Bruce talks and speak exactly was in my mind. Like I said, I like everyone but Bruce is my hero (Plus, he likes all the tweets when I mention him XD)
I can get a child not thinking about it, but how can a fully funtionin adult not realize that sending a guy his address is creepy. Like it baffles me that people don't realize just how weird the stuff they do to celebrities/internet personalities is. Like unless it's bet or a dare or meant to be a joke no one should be so lacking in common sense to not see how weird stuff like that it. And on a lesser note, is it hard not to see an internet personality on the street and not act like you know them personally? I mean it's a simple "Oh hey, your Adam from Funhaus right? How's it going?"
In my opinion a lot of UA-cam drama simply comes down to competition between channels. I think the issue is a lot of people just weren't expecting to see competition for views in the same way we see competition in other industries. UA-camrs are essentially running a business, and with UA-cam growing faster than the number of "available" views in a given day, it's no wonder that competition for those precious views is heating up. The Toby situation is a bit different, but looking at a lot of UA-cam drama as a whole, it's clear to see that content creators are getting much more competitive in trying to get users to view their content over someone else's. Also, I think the reason that drama/competition on UA-cam gets much more heated and personal than competition between something like two car companies is the same reason why social media can be so brutal, delusions of anonymity.
So I work in the landfill business. Depending on the landfill is how recycling works. So, most stuff you put in the recycle bin goes straight into the landfill, paper and aluminum are about the only things that are actually recycled. Everything you throw away breaks down into methane that is then capture and used as fuel.
+Strygger Yea There are totally a ton of people that I can understand why they dont see this bullshit. Though from my experience, its getting really shitty. This "youtube drama" culture is getting un savory. Its totally understandable that youtubers want to talk about it before it gets a little too out of hand. Seeing the different perspectives are interesting.
nothing really having to do with this video but i was super hyped and impressed to see the Calvin and Hobbes cover photo for the channel, brings back so many memories.
22:30 That's exactly the problem. The worst people also are the loudest people. Most people are cool and are like me, rarely commenting and just sitting back and enjoying the content. And wishing I had your job. Make sure you take your own advice. Don't change your content. Just do what you guys want. Its awesome and hilarious and interesting.
I'm way late to the party on this Dude Soup. But speaking as someone who is studying Games Development at University, along with three years previous experience doing it through College. Half of what we get taught is just to put our face to the grindstone and pretend to be happy about it; i'm talking 16-20 hour days to finish the work required. Tutors have explicitly told us that the course is set out in this manner to get us used to the 'industry standard'. The only people who have prospered on this course are those with some kind of social anxiety or stigma with literally nothing else to do but the work. It's actually that time consuming that it killed my passion for games along with my desire to work in the industry itself. I'm posting this incase anyone reading this decides 'I want to be a game developer', i'm not saying don't do it, im just telling you to consider the steps you want to take and will have to take VERY seriously before continuing. Because everything they said was right on the fucking nose, its not as much of a 'fun' industry as you'd like to think it is, its actually the most draining thing i've ever done in my life.
Ofcourse Pewdiepie enjoys what he does because he earns money with fake reactions to entertain little kids. There is no entertainment value there and I find it so ironic that people are judging Keemstar but yet when someone calls out KSI and Pewdiepie for childish and fake reactions they're "wrong". UA-cam 2016 is pretty dominated by 12 year olds and weak minded teenagers and adults who have a different mind set to the viewers from 2006-2011. They get offended easily and make reddit posts whining about why a youtuber did what, that would not happen back in 2009. Also the people who say there was no drama back in the day are also viewers who weren't even there at the time. Has everyone forgotten the big drama that went down in 2007? Fake nuke in 2009? Wings v keemstar 2010? Wings v syndicate 2011? I could go on and on but its a shame how cancerous youtube infact the whole internet has become.
+MickeyMoTiOnZ Keemstar makes money off of peoples drama, Pewdiepie make money off videos where he, possibly, is giving fake reactions. At least Pewdiepie isn't making a living off of other people business.
In my country, overtime gets 2 possibilities: Either, they can take this overtime and get off work for - lets say - 20 hours, if they have 20 hours of overtime. or get paid when the year is done - say a total of 300 hours overtime = 300*hourly pay at May.
I think you might have chosen the wrong straw that broke the camel's back. I might be wrong but I believe both videos were in response to the drama between H3 and Leafy. Namely, the fact that Leafy is allowed to use the same platform as Mark and Pewds to breed hatred. Toby didn't really spur this because it seems as if everyone that has worked with him does not like him.
+Dolan Everyone that is smart sees it is a trending subject because the biggest youtubers are talking about it. Keemstar is scared because people might actually start to notice that he is really a garden gnome. That is why he is constantly making twitter posts denying any wrong doing and passing blame to everyone else for things he does in reality. This should be good.
+gameguru1234 How does that change anything with what I've said? A title is a title, sure they talked about it, but it seems almost every UA-camr is trying to get into this "UA-cam drama" circle just for the hell of it, and it's almost like it's a cry for attention and views. I'm not saying this directly to Funhaus, but more to every youtuber trying to use this "UA-cam Drama" as some sort of attention. Still love Funhaus tho
I loved the analysis of the "drama" situation and thought the guys did it in a really respectful way as always! I would have liked to have seen your guys opinion on UA-cam drama putting UA-camrs on edge and further limiting content creation in terms of people being afraid to post certain videos. For instance Pewds said in his video that he was thinking of making a video about the people accusing him in a playful and comedic manner but was put off by the fact it wasn't worth the risk of drama! I wondered if you guys had ever felt like you couldn't post something because other UA-camrs would call you out? And what your opinions are on that subject!
When I was studying game design, we had to read articles about what's going on in the industry and we ended up reading articles about the awful working conditions, how it's awful to be a tester, how greedy and corrupt the industry is, and it just made me say, "oh, fuck that." So now I work in cybersecurity.
Funhaus is the best youtubers ever. No pointless swearing or burping or anything even watching demo disk their great people. Thank you for the videos Funhaus to all of you there Adam, James, Lawrance, Bruce and the others in the back I cant name all of them but thanks for the videos I been able to laugh at times and have a reason to care thank you.
So this basically brings me towards starting uploading UA-cam videos just because I like making them and not for an audience. Good, no schedule change. Love you guys ♥
Whilst I understand what people mean when they say Pewds & Co are adding to/benefiting from the drama by addressing it. However, what I took from what he said was best explained like this: Imagine, a pub full of socialites, all at various levels of intellect and inhebriation, discuss a local "crime or scandal". Whilst they have every right to discuss and share their views amongst this social group they are not a Courtroom, they have no real power and shouldn't think they do. Just chat, challenge, debate and learn in your social arena and leave justice and legal action to the proper circles. Just my opinion.
Adam's an interesting guy. Re watching Dude Soup podcasts to help me fall asleep in June 2019
Lawrence's birthing hips. mmhm
Oh my god, I'm not the only one who thinks to myself...
"Softshell jacket... +10 Defense.... But Turtleneck sweater...... +7 Intel, and +2 Charisma...."
I would love to meet one of these guys they seem like good people.
Your channel is an oasis of intellectually and emotionally intelligent conversation in a sea of youtube gahbage. thanks for doing what yall do, keep it up!
Thought it said PewDiePie & Markiplier Hate each other for a sec there xD
I was gleefully unaware of the existence of drama until this video. #SchrodingersDrama
I'm pleased they did this as a theme for their Dude Soup. Funhaus is my favourite UA-cam channel and I always enjoy hearing their opinions as I generally think they're fair, mostly unbiased and sincere. Thank you.
Just one question ...
*WHY THE FUCK WOULD ANYONE WANT TO KNOW*
*THE ADDRESSES OF THESE GUYS !?*
Wow, some people are really lonely and desperate for attention.
Not like TotalBiscuit though, who keeps trying to tell people that nontroversies (like this one) are a waste of everyone's time and thought.
no, more like UA-camr being target as rapes and trying to get views. it's stupid!
Good episode in general, but give Lawrence a dictionary so he learns words other than lament
'markiplier could read the back of a cereal box and id be fine' yep...same here...i started watching his video cause his voice was just so soothing even when he's acting up lmao
Lawrence has a moose-knuckle during the whole video
External genitalia can be a bitch
Baikal920 I agree fellow male
I'm happy you got some sort of treatment Bruce. One time I did something stupid and completely disconnected my right clavicle from my sternum. If you don't know what those words mean, look it up because it didn't feel too good. I went to the doctor and he proceeded to tell me that it wasn't broken, and that I tore a muscle, and that I just needed to take aspirin. Which was complete bullshit. The X-Ray I took 3 weeks later verified it was basically broken. So I basically had to go through a month with burning pain and without a cast. I basically had to makeshift my own cast. I completely lost hope in the medical industry after that event.
can Matt Peak be in one of these?
Can Matt Peak be inside me?
I think a point you guys may have missed is the Indy scene. Developers who are burnt out on being told what to do, working crazy hours for no additional compensation, and having their artistic visions comprimised are now increasingly moving smaller, independant design studios. They may still work as many hours, or more, at times, but its by their own choice instead of instigated by management.
The title made me cringe until i saw it was funhaus
+Dornaden The only people who look at a situation rationally and don't take a side.
>Watch ad
>Everybody points watches towards camera simultaneously
Yay! Super Sellout Bros!
It's part of their job, they are earning money and not there for free for your amusement...
It's almost as if I was joking...
Hanane No I just found the situation funny. How come on this channel everybody gets butthurt about jokes, but on others everybody just has a good time?
funhaus has entered the drama wagon...
no, they entered the gungeon. didn't you see the video?
I really respect Bruce's opinion on every theme they talk. I like all the guys, but he specially always have the best point of view in the matters.
Can someone make a video compilation of all the times Adam says "We live in a weird world where..."?
Stop whining about funhaus talking about drama. It's a fucking discussion. They can talk if it's happening or not.
4/20 Blaze It Bro!!!! Let's not forget about Weed, Hitler's Birthday, and Colombine School Shooting. Glorious day indeed, am I right Stoners?
Yup
So I work in the landfill business. Depending on the landfill is how recycling works. So, most stuff you put in the recycle bin goes straight into the landfill, paper and aluminum are about the only things that are actually recycled. Everything you throw away breaks down into methane that is then capture and used as fuel.
Does anybody even care about this? I didn't know it exist before this video came up.
+Strygger Yea
There are totally a ton of people that I can understand why they dont see this bullshit. Though from my experience, its getting really shitty. This "youtube drama" culture is getting un savory. Its totally understandable that youtubers want to talk about it before it gets a little too out of hand. Seeing the different perspectives are interesting.
dude soup podcasts are def the reason i love this channel. keep up!
Who are you kidding with that gym story, Bruce. You broke your finger in your butt. Don't be Kanye about it...
Nah, he was lifted 300 pounds WITH ONE HAND! Guy has an 8-pack, brah.
nothing really having to do with this video but i was super hyped and impressed to see the Calvin and Hobbes cover photo for the channel, brings back so many memories.
john marston is hot
22:30 That's exactly the problem. The worst people also are the loudest people. Most people are cool and are like me, rarely commenting and just sitting back and enjoying the content. And wishing I had your job. Make sure you take your own advice. Don't change your content. Just do what you guys want. Its awesome and hilarious and interesting.
Not you guys too
"I can't take a bag of protein powder on a plane" is the most dude bro thing you can say
Hey Funhaus #niceshirt
Why thou
+The Derpy Batman What art thou asking of me?
+Frodo33 yea
The Derpy Batman ty
+MickeyMoTiOnZ ...the fuck are you going on about?
I know I hit nerves when I get comments like this ^^^
+MickeyMoTiOnZ Keemstar makes money off of peoples drama, Pewdiepie make money off videos where he, possibly, is giving fake reactions. At least Pewdiepie isn't making a living off of other people business.
CometX-ing That business is already public, he has never made any private information public. If you are a scumbag expect to be exposed simple as.
Also he keeps you up to date with everything that is happening.
You know shit's about to get real when Adam says: "We live in a world/strange time."
WEW GUNGEON :D
In my country, overtime gets 2 possibilities: Either, they can take this overtime and get off work for - lets say - 20 hours, if they have 20 hours of overtime. or get paid when the year is done - say a total of 300 hours overtime = 300*hourly pay at May.
Not even an hour. Unsubbed
yeah wtf guys -.-
I think you might have chosen the wrong straw that broke the camel's back. I might be wrong but I believe both videos were in response to the drama between H3 and Leafy. Namely, the fact that Leafy is allowed to use the same platform as Mark and Pewds to breed hatred. Toby didn't really spur this because it seems as if everyone that has worked with him does not like him.
*sigh* Another channel using this whole "UA-cam drama" for a title... I trusted you, Funhaus
This should be good.
they live on UA-cam. what else are they gonna talk about for an hour
+Dolan All the better to beat achievement hunter :)
JohntheSpyCrab As much as I wanna disagree, it's pretty funny how true that is.
Their additions to the mattress ad make me want one.
I clicked on this video and heard the words "Achievement Hunter" in 4 seconds, THAT HAS COMPLETED MY DAY
Adams impression of a paparazzi was funking hilarious
When I was studying game design, we had to read articles about what's going on in the industry and we ended up reading articles about the awful working conditions, how it's awful to be a tester, how greedy and corrupt the industry is, and it just made me say, "oh, fuck that."
So now I work in cybersecurity.
do you like your current job?
Definitely.
+Saibot216 what do you do in your current job?
Checking security logs, making sure no one is trying to break into a corporate network.
I watch you guys' videos religiously, thanks for giving me a short break from life. I really appreciate your work.
Keemstar is literally the TMZ of UA-cam. Something I'm sure no one wanted nor asked for...
#MakeUA-camGradeAgain
"It's like Dark Souls with guns"
WE HEARD IT LAWRENCE, DON'T THINK WE DIDN'T!
can we talk about Lawrence's arms though they look AMAZING
Funhaus is the best youtubers ever. No pointless swearing or burping or anything even watching demo disk their great people. Thank you for the videos Funhaus to all of you there Adam, James, Lawrance, Bruce and the others in the back I cant name all of them but thanks for the videos I been able to laugh at times and have a reason to care thank you.
So this basically brings me towards starting uploading UA-cam videos just because I like making them and not for an audience. Good, no schedule change. Love you guys ♥
I love how vanoss, H20,Nogla,Wildcat,Terriorizer, Spoon, ect all have no drama attached to him
Holy cow, this is the first time I've clicked on a sponsor link that really applies to me... these MVMT watches are pretty fucking great.
Whilst I understand what people mean when they say Pewds & Co are adding to/benefiting from the drama by addressing it.
However, what I took from what he said was best explained like this:
Imagine, a pub full of socialites, all at various levels of intellect and inhebriation, discuss a local "crime or scandal". Whilst they have every right to discuss and share their views amongst this social group they are not a Courtroom, they have no real power and shouldn't think they do.
Just chat, challenge, debate and learn in your social arena and leave justice and legal action to the proper circles.
Just my opinion.
