    I’ve done many Des Plaines canoe marathons in my youth. Some of my most fond memories. Never about winning, always just for fun with a group of friends. Such a long time ago. 😢

    thank you so much - our home is in the video flooded 5 times Then torn down - in the flood alleviation - the whole neighborhood is gone- thank you for this film.

    I've caught many carp, bass, panfish, Pike, catfish there and its definitely getting better but still tons of unhealthy water. Great video, love biking the woods here and fishing this river.

    Thank you so much! I kayaked 5 miles along the des plaines river and I saw so much trash it was heart breaking! I’m hoping to get my environment club at libertyville high school to pitch in with cleaning up the river!

    I fish the sanitary and ship canal sometimes and it’s crazy how fish even survive in it but it think they’re doing alright

      I didn't think that was going to be brought up. Des plains is a sewer. You could call it the bloodstream of the republican party. Accurate.
