Great video Mike! Being a very precise person myself, your videos are like a magnet to my style of learning....I want to know the hard fact without a lot of talking in circles or glazing over details which leaving me guessing. You are a great teacher...you explain the lesson, the purpose, what to do, and how to do it correctly. Keep up the great work. Detailing is less intimidating when there's someone like you explaining it. thank you
Fantastic video!! These dilution ratio questions are always on AMAZON on Meguiar's concentrated products. This video will help so many including my self.
Very informative video which I really enjoyed. I just ordered a few gallon sizes of Meguiar’s from Car Supplies Warehouse. They had great sales, easy to navigate site, smooth checkout and quick shipping!
Beware, the ACTUAL dilution line when adding the concentrate either from 4:1 or 10:1 is the first notch above the 10:1 line, NOT the bottom of the filler neck as shown in this video. I found this out the hard way. I diluted as shown in the video with the pre marked bottles as shown and it wiped off the lettering on my steering wheel buttons. Great product but please correct this video.
Dear Meguiar's I have been using your APC (D-101) for two months and I'm generally satisfied but I have a little issue with it... When I use it on a plastic with pores and work on the surface with a brush, after wiping it with a microfiber cloth, a white residue appears in the pores after a short time, which is difficult to remove. I'm pretty sure it's the same residue that remains on the funnel, for example, when I pour concentrate into the bottle to dilute it. What am I doing wrong? Should I rinse the surface (e.g. dashboard) so that no sediment remains? Thank You very much for the answer.
@@jorgevaldovinos9735 No I didn't. And since Meguiar's didn't bother to answer my question I stopped using it inside the car. That residue is nearly impossible to remove and there are others APCs that don't have that problem, I switched to them. I suppose it some kind of alkaline sludge and to prevent it from appearing would be rinsing the surface. That might not be a problem if You are using steamer like many North America's derailers but I don't use it so I'm not 100% sure.
Oh NO... I have been wrong in dilluting the detailer line bottle for 10 years.. I poured the water to the dillution ratio line I wanted, then pour the products (APC, LT HD, SD, WB) to the widest cylinder part of the bottle. Not the slimmer neck one.
The fill line is definitely not bottom of the neck. Do your test. The 10:1 is about 750ml (25.36oz) that means 75ml(2.53oz) concentrate you need to add if you fill up 10:1 line with water. The fill line will be the ridge right above 10:1 ratio line.
Hey Meguiars! the dilution ratio is wrong in this video 10:1 should be until the first line after the mark of 10:1 , not all the way up as shown in this video. that would be ~8oz of chemical and ~24oz of water.. If you bring the calculator the dilution of 10:1 for 32oz should be "32oz Divided by 11 (10+1) = 2.91oz" .. Means 2.91oz of chemical... Please fix this video as people are using more concentrate that they should.
Am in the process of starting my detailing business there are so many products out there. Am from the Caribbean your products are not available her. How profitable would it be to order them.
You think by building all these bottles you have a FILL TO HERE line to mark off the water level ... The blank detailer generic bottles do not have a ring at the bottom of the bottles so its about 2 line up the neck the water fill mark ..
I'm a beginner detailer. My question is this. Is it best to use distilled water than to use tap water because of all the minerals and chemicals that's in tap water when mixing. Just thought I would ask.
I have a question do the chemicals lose the effectiveness over time? An expiration date of sorts. I over bought and have 4 gallons of AP cleaner and several other of your products planning on being busier till COVID hit
The shelf life of most of our products is 3-5 years if stored in moderate temperature controlled environments but it is common for many to last even longer. Typically when a product "goes bad" it changes consistency, separates, etc. and can become harder to apply/remove rather than losing efficacy.
First, keep in mind the ph listed is before diluting the product. Second, to be clear 13 on the ph scale is alkaline not acidic. This is a very common range for an all purpose cleaner. Although it is probably safe to assume many people use this without wearing gloves if you are particularly worried you should use gloves.
Yes, this unfortunately could happen if not diluted properly. As the label indicates you must dilute at 4:1 for exterior use and 10:1 for interior use.
The "best" wax for any given car can be highly relative to the condition of the paint, color, as well as your personal desire for it. That being said if you are simply looking for the best protecting wax you will likely want to consider our new Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax. As it will offer superior protection and water beading. It also has the added benefit of not turnign the trim white if you accidently get some on the plastic, rubber, etc. Here is a link... s.3m.com/mw3ag

How about if I dilute M799 Bead Booster using ratio 1:1 or 2:1? Does its performance change drastically?
Yes, it's performance would change as you are watering it down quite a bit at that point.
What's the recommended dilution rate for pre wash on car paint?
Which product specifically are you referring to?
