It's nice to see somebody put Blanton's Single Barrel where it belongs. It's not that great, it's good not great. The Blanton's Gold and Straight From The Barrel would be another discussion however. I walked into one of my local liquor stores and saw they had a Blanton's Single Barrel behind the counter for ... $170 🙄. That's nearly three times MSRP! I wish I could find single barrel store picks of Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare!
I’ve been watching this channel for a pretty good while now, and I know you love Benchmark Full Proof which is really good “for the money”, albeit a bit young and spiky, but I’m a little blown away here.. Just to clarify: we are seriously saying, prices aside, that Benchmark FP, TF and SB are as good or better than over 50% of all Buffalo Trace products including BT, BLT, ETL and every Weller except FP and 12?!
Great video... Thanks. We do not get many these bottles in Europe. I never even saw a bottle of Weller. However Blantons (Single Barrel, Gold and straight from the barrel) is quite often available. I would have liked to see how you would rank blantons gold and blantons straight from the barrel on this list. I saw recently a Pappy 12 at 900euro (app. 1100usd) at my local shop. I doubt it is worth it - for that price I could get 25 bottles of Eagler rare 😀. Cheers.
Thanks for the breakdown outside the livestream, love the content, but I’ve never gotten into the live streams! I usually skip through them after they are over. Good choices, I’d be curious to see the list when price/availability comes into the picture.
Glad to see baby Saz at the bottom. That is a bottle I just don't care for but most whiskeytubers praise. I put Old Rip above lot B and I put Antique 107 a little higher but overall I'm pretty close to you. There are a couple I've never had including Weller 12 and FP which I must remedy.
I've had 12 and 107. They're good but not at secondary prices. Had a chance at an Old Rip 10 a couple of years ago for $225 and passed based on my Weller tastings.
I just grabbed a Benchmark single barrel because of you. Hoping I enjoy it as well. For 26 bucks out the door(tax included), hard to beat if it is solid. I'm not a huge fan of the Sazerac Rye either. Grabbed a bottle in NOLA just because it was only 19 bucks. Local place to me wants 79.99 for a 750 of it 😂😂
Agree on the Sazerac Rye. Love the Benchmark Full proof. Local store was ringing it up for the price of the Benchmark 8...$12. They finally caught on but I got some great bourbon cheap for awhile.
I admit it, I'm a weenie when it comes to high proof. So I mostly drink Weller Special Reserve and I LIKE it. Unfortunately, in the boondocks of Texas, I have to pay $100 plus tax for a 1.75L. Ouchie. Love the channel but I will never see most of the Buffalo Trace bourbons down heah. I'm a C- (sniff).
I like the concept of what you did here even though it was hard to enjoy watching because by the end the regular bottle of Buffalo Trace was the only one I have, and here in NY they are getting just coins shy of $49 for a .750 bottle, that's flat out criminal! great review, Thanks and 🥃Cheers!
I agree with most of your list. I think the pappy is overrated. EH taylor, full proof is my favorite. The stags to me are right below, along with the weller full proof. Solid rankings.
Stagg Jr. seems to be sort of a white whale for me, it always drops at times I can't get to the store then I see locals posting 2-3 bottles they picked up and comparing batches when I've never even had a sample of one. There's also the fact that I'm starting to get a real strong grape flavor I don't like on a lot of BT stuff so as easy as it would be to find Stagg Jr on secondary at +$300 around here I can't justify spending that on something I've never had.
Great video David! I enjoy you sharing your opinion here. After reading some comments, it may be better to use a 90-100 rating system rather than ABC. The problem being that some people might think a C is bad news since that was never good to bring home from school on our report cards. A 93? Hey, that feels pretty good for my favorite bottle! Anyways, love your content! And looking forward to more videos!
This video is an "S", I don't think you any video of yours ever ranked below an "A". You are a legend! Equal shout our for the Taylor series, my personal favorite line. Couldn't agree more on the Weller Single Barrel, give me Benchmark Single Barrel any day.
Kind of a cheesy board but it gets your point across. I like buffalo trace and eagle rare have never tasted anything else yet. Unfortunately in my area they rarely get anything from buffalo trace. Enjoy!!
The next video should use the actual letter ranking, and rank them from favorite to least favorite within each letter. It will be more organized and easier to see where it ranks within each other.
This is definitely one of your best videos!!!!! U should do this with all bourbons like wild turkey, heaven hill etc. SUPER HELPFUL Can u do a close up of this board please? And u left out the btac Saranac rye
So for my money you say to go with the Benchmark Single Barrel thats $25 at my local Walgreens over the Buffalo Trace thats overpriced down the street at the liquor store for $60. Sounds good to me😂. I'm just getting into this so buying the cheap stuff first.
After watching this video I know to not trust your pallet in any future videos 😂 RHF at a B??? That's one of the best pours BT makes by a wide margin. And you put Weller 107 above Blantons?? 107 tastes like a cinnamon candle. And the disrespect of Weller SR smh.
Hello, your wine bottle is so familiar... was it purchased from China? We are a factory specializing in the production of liquor bottles, so I am very sensitive to this. If your company needs new bottles, you can contact me and I will design some solutions for you
Really!!! 80% of these bottles are only average or above average Cs and B- They are better than you gave them compared to the vast field of other below average Bourbons. 😢
It's nice to see somebody put Blanton's Single Barrel where it belongs. It's not that great, it's good not great. The Blanton's Gold and Straight From The Barrel would be another discussion however. Funny since you and many other youtubers put your buffalo trace products font and center on your display bars.
My man put BT at “C” and below some of the Benchmarks. Yikes, but each their own. Thanks for going through all of these!
Really like this style of video and think you should go through and do it for more of the big distillery’s with a large product lineup!
Great video, as always. I’d like to see more tier lists for other distilleries with large catalogs, like Heaven Hill and Jim Beam.
Cheers.
That’s a lot of bottles. Thanks for sharing David!
Would love to see this format for other major distilleries. Thanks!
I agree with 99.9% of your list. The only bottle i would move is Weller 12y. I would put it right where you put weller sib and weller cypb.
With all of the middle of the road ratings you have all of the Trace stuff in the most viable shelf’s behind you! Interesting
I dont think these ratings are "middle of the road" if you listen to what he was saying about each. A "B" in this rating system is very good.
Well considering the whole topic and even the rating system and colors on his chart are a lift from a year old bourbon junkies vid….
Thanks for the breakdown outside the livestream, love the content, but I’ve never gotten into the live streams! I usually skip through them after they are over. Good choices, I’d be curious to see the list when price/availability comes into the picture.
Love this video…other brand comparisons would be cool to see!
David…did not know you are an elementary school teacher! Love the board!

Appreciate the efficiency of this ranking video.

Bang
Boom
Agree with most but antique would personally be a lot higher

I couldn’t agree with you more. Most of those bottles are so hyped up. Great job on this. Have to try the rock hill now.
Rock hill is a solid A.
Such a great idea to recap livestreams w a condensed video!
I admit it, I'm a weenie when it comes to high proof. So I mostly drink Weller Special Reserve and I LIKE it. Unfortunately, in the boondocks of Texas, I have to pay $100 plus tax for a 1.75L. Dude has all benchmarks above BT and Blantons. I get it those aren’t your fav but the benchmarks seriously.
Thanks to your Turtle Creek video I got some Buffalo Trace AND Eagle Rare! Big thanks
This was interesting and helpful David. Thanks!
I'm not with you 100% but CLOSE! Great job! 👍🥃
Good vid. A buddy has the WL Weller and said the MM2023BEP is better. He regrets not selling the WLW and pocketing a grand.
Excellent distillery overview, very helpful.
what does S stand for? superier?
The best whiskey you have ever had only cost $20,000 a bottle what a bargain
Stagg Jr. seems to be sort of a white whale for me, it always drops at times I can't get to the store then I see locals posting 2-3 bottles they picked up and comparing batches when I've never even had a sample of one. Our palates match! Great video!

Equal shout our for the Taylor series, my personal favorite line. Couldn't agree more on the Weller Single Barrel, give me Benchmark Single Barrel any day.
Thanks David. A great summary. Everybody has to like a good Handy…😮
Thanks for the visual report card for us with a short attention span ! Ha
Kind of a cheesy board but it gets your point across. I like buffalo trace and eagle rare have never tasted anything else yet. Unfortunately in my area they rarely get anything from buffalo trace. Enjoy!!
I have a weller full proof store pick that is absolutely amazing!!
I thought the ranking were spot on even though I have not had the opportunity to try the higher end bottles.
The next video should use the actual letter ranking, and rank them from favorite to least favorite within each letter. It will be more organized and easier to see where it ranks within each other.

"I'm so cool that I don't like Blantons."
I tried to purchase a Glencairn from your site but it said it couldn’t ship it to my address in Ohio?
Special Reserve was disappointing. I picked up a 1.75 for $37. I wouldn't pay a dime more. The $200 for the 1.75 is a joke.
ok stupid question..ill be the one haha...whats the S stand for?
Superior
The 107 was a disappointment for me. I'll take the Blanton's any day over the 107.
What about Hancocks reserve?
Awesome video
Si, great content as always!
Need to get a sample of Double Eagle Very rare blows everything else out of the water
That's harder to find than Pappy
After watching this video I know to not trust your pallet in any future videos 😂 RHF at a B??? That's one of the best pours BT makes by a wide margin. And you put Weller 107 above Blantons?? 107 tastes like a cinnamon candle. And the disrespect of Weller SR smh.
Everyone needs to ask themselves how much of whisky rankings are hype? A true blind ranking is much more trustworthy than this.
Hello, your wine bottle is so familiar... was it purchased from China? We are a factory specializing in the production of liquor bottles, so I am very sensitive to this. If your company needs new bottles, you can contact me and I will design some solutions for you
I thought Dana White drinks Howler Head?
Does S mean super?
WOW...A lot of fence sitting.
I feel like OWA has a lot of batch variance.
Kosher rye recipe is mash bill 2 not mash bill 1 buffalo trace
Wow. You rate BT ie 80 proof Stagg that low?
Zoom in! Good stuff!
Really!!! 80% of these bottles are only average or above average Cs and B- They are better than you gave them compared to the vast field of other below average Bourbons. 😢
No Bowman?
ETL and W12 belong with Saz.
I would have put Eagle Rare at a A and Buffalo Trace at a B Antique 107 at A Sazarec Rye a C 😃🥃Those are the ones I have at my place now.
Weller 12 is only good for making poor man’s pappy!!!
You lost me when you put sazerac that low. Boooooo. It’s literally way better than everything else you put on the board before it.
Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star
Doesn’t make the list.
😵
Hope I can’t try as many of those bottles one day!
2020 George T Stagg BTAC is the whiskey I’ve ever had !!
Vanwinkle 12 lot B is the best “Van Winkle” by far
Blah blah blah buffalo trace... there is so much better stuff out there to enjoy.
Got a sub from us! Nice video man!
