    Circa 1918
    Geisha perform a Tsuru Kame (Crane and Turtle) dance.
    Silent Film
    Benjamin Brodsky (an American of likely Ukrainian decent) set up a motion picture company in Hong Kong in the early 20th century. Brodsky travelled around the world as a film projectionist when he was young. He arrived in China in 1909 to start his business of film projection and trading related equipment.

    How nice to see this old footage! By he way, the Japanese name of the dance is written as 「鶴亀」so if you'd like to see some modern versions of it, it's easy to find. :)

      Hello! Film had no sound in 1918. As the Geisha were dancing a very specific dance I did not want to overlay a different song on the video.

      Everyone knows film did not have audio in the 1910s…I don’t think YOU thought this through…
