I was just gonna say the same!! I remember seeing this video late in the night way back then when they had music videos on TV hahah and it changed my life for the better!!
harcore as fuck. grind too. best ending to a song ever. that harcore angry punk beat followed by that blast beat and a bunch of fills inbetween. so awesome
My very first video. Love you Converge to the moon and back. And for the comments below, we made this before most of you were born - 2002 - and it was a lot of fun to create. Shot on 35mm film...which doesn't happen anymore. Miss it. THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT.
Are you still in business? This is an incredible work of art, just visually always on cue and really unique that kind of defined an era. Something of a pace-maker for videos at the time. Few music videos in underground extreme music really found a footing until this band probably came about, and some of their contemporaries.
This video was the first time I ever heard of or seen Converge. It actually played on MTV and it was super late at night. I don't recall what show it was on but they played it mixed in with other videos like Glassjaw and Thursday and even Good Charlotte ha ha. It absolutely blew me away and I had never heard anything like it before outside of the usual Metal scene. I honestly thought they were an Emo band back then because of Jacob's hair. Anyway I became a fan ever since. Own every album on vinyl and got to see them one time up in Tulsa, OK.
Part of me likes this and another part of me is like wtf is going on. And I've been into extreme music for a while but these vocals mostly are so different.
I’ve been listening to this song and reading the lyrics for like five listens and I still can’t tell when he’s saying like any of it but I don’t care I’m just here because crazy noise makes dopamine go brrrrrr
I literally just noticed that how he wraps the mic cord around his neck when the haunting guitar lead starts in the Jane Live video, was a throwback to this music vid.... lol
You should certainly check out the albums that followed it. "You Fail Me" feels like the aftermath of Jane Doe - it's a little darker, but rewarding. "No Heroes" feels a bit more upbeat, as if they just decided to go nuts with the recording. "Axe to Fall" is certainly the most varied. If you want progression, I'd definitely start there.
the only lyric I can make out is "water slide water slide!" On a side note, I think they're the first hardcore band I've seen with orange amps and rickenbackers
Twolliebollie You're being just as pretentious and condescending by the way in which you describe them. I, personally, wouldn't call myself a Disturbed fan, but there's nothing wrong with enjoying some mainstream rock/metal at times. For instance, I'd call myself a pretty big Breaking Benjamin fan. I'll readily admit their music is not groundbreaking or amazing by any means, but there isn't anything bad about it at all, either. It's damn good mainstream hard rock. Nothing wrong with that, so, politely, get over yourself, please.
Twolliebollie Not particularly. Sure they've declined in the last two releases or so, but they pretty much just release the same album each time. While definitely not a good thing, it doesn't make the music, itself, bad. If one likes Disturbed, then one probably won't mind more of the same thing with each album. On the other hand, if one isn't a big fan, one will likely just tire of them and move on to something else. Generic doesn't, necessarily, equate to bad. And, just because you don't like the band, or their music, doesn't mean they're objectively bad.
When it comes to mathcore bands, this is probably one of the more chaotic. I'd usually prefer something like Fear Before the March of Flames, something a bit more melodic, but you have to hand it to these guys for really going all out and really giving a unique take on the genre. Much respect for that shit.
there was a Russian chaotic hardcore/metalcore band called “Korea”, I definitely recommend you to check out their album which is called “Pulse”, if you are into chaotic metal music with much more melodic elements
@@creekandseminolethere was a bunch of mind blowing bands back then: Knut, Breach, Shora, HHIG, etc. They have been my soundtrack for 25 years, but I have to admit I love music, and I listen from mainstream pop to underground legends ❤
Well I liked the song much, but I just couldn't make out the video. I mean I'm watching a girl walk around a house wile there's like abrasive music. I guess that's apart of converge man

Hit my ears last night while looking for new music. I think I'm going to really love this band.

Love how much it looks like movies from the time did, and the shots of the band are so good and energetic and cut perfectly! Amazing video!
how can we petition a rescan at 2K minimum? I would love to see this in HD.

The end of this song is literally off the hook insane, holy. The whole song is insane but the end especially.
It’s like a fucking storm. Pure sonic assault. It engulfs the listener completely and throws them all around. Pure art.
