I know what my partner likes----more than one little packet of oatmeal . 🤣He's 6'6" with a hearty appetite. When making those bless up bags, you could add an MRE heater for about an extra dollar. Them having a way to warm up the food is a game changer. Good video!

The antibacterial wipes were a great idea many people miss. The only problem with the title is MRE stands for Meals Read to Eat. except the snacks everything has to be cooked. None of the main food is ready to eat.

Excellent idea for anybody to do for themselves and/or others, especially for the homeless!
There are so many people who are in need right now and something like this is a blessing to ANYONE these days.
Combining that with a care card with Scriptures is such a wonderful idea to share with ppl who probably doesn't even know the Lord!
Thank you for the idea! I'm going to do this to bless somebody!
May God continue to bless you and yours in every way that He sees fit!❤

I add a small packet of baby wipes, that can be used as toilet paper and hand/facial wipes.
I also add Emergen-C packets instead of powdered drinks.

Defeats the purpose of R to E, but it's still good.
Ideally you want something that you could eat straight from the pouch or the can without adding water or needing to eat. Granted, heating makes them much more palatable. But, in the field you just want to rip, open a pouch and be able to eat from it. No water, no sitting around the campfire, you're trying to get a job done.

One thing they recommended to add to the homeless food packs here is a comb, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, bandaids and a pair of socks

Just a tip... But the bag can be used as a container to collect water.

I won't say I wouldn't touch the current MountainHouse meals. It's just the previous packaging was set up as "2 servings", which in actuallity would be one serving to get half decent calorie count.

Great video, just get a Harbor Freight 'box knife'for $2 and throw one (with 1 or 2 spare blades) in every other MRE,

Great ideas! If this were like canned food, I would say it would keep 2-3 years, being that yours is all dry, it could last a lot longer that that. I have never seen the Idahoan Loaded Potatoe soup mix before, thank-you! I have made a few of these and I like to use canned food like Chili. I can eat it cold out of the can on the go if I need to, or just warm it by a campfire in the can, no need for a cook pot. I carry a titanium long handle spork in my go bag, but I don't worry about a spoon at all. If I lose mine, I will just carve one from a stick. I like to add Lipton tea mix from Dollar Tree, or the like. It is in a pouch that makes two quarts. I like mine a little stronger, plus like about two glasses per meal, so I open the pack as small a tear opening as possible, make it by the glass, just fold the top over several times to close it and it is my drinks for the day. It can also be heated to make hot tea in the morning. I just like the real tea and sugar, over things like Crystal Lite, the artificial stuff in those upset my stomach and give me a slight headache. Thank-you for the info, now I need to find that soup mix:)

Thank you for watching and commenting! We got this soup mix at our local Walmart. We finally got a dollar tree on our small town and it has some great finds for prep items and easy prep Food. We are planning a hike in and camp trip this next week so I need to get some new ones made up for our packs 😁

Why do people call them Meals Ready To Eat, when they are not? You have to boil water and cook. If it was a real mre you can eat cold and it’s because you’re in a position that cooking is not possible i.e. military use

The mountain house meals last way longer in terms of years.. so those rank higher for me no matter the minimal cost of the at home made MRE that you have to switch out every 6months
