A cis friend of mine actually has very consistent periods and they always start on the full moon. The first day of her period is often horrible so she would stay home from school on that first day. One of her male classmates noticed this absence that happened only on the full moon and asked her if she was a werewolf.

Sometimes it can clot up to the point that your body ends up having to push out the entire lining in a few, or even 1 piece instead of bleeding over the course of the few days

A few weeks after my hysterectomy, I was talking to a woman who asked me how I was dealing with menopause/if I was taking hormone replacement. I responded that the Dr only had to take one of my ovaries so (being in my mid 30's) I wasn't actually experiencing the hormonal changes of menopause. She was so confused and was like, "So you still get your period?" No matter how I tried to explain it, she could not wrap her head around the idea that my hormones could still cycle like normal, but with no bleeding.
2:49 this idea actually stems from an inaccurate idea of women's anatomy from the middle ages. It was believed that periods were a manifestation of women's sins for being women (?). It was common for people to make women bleed before periods because they thought it would relieve the 'sins'. Their periods was apparently a sign of the devil, and if they bled, the evil was 'purged' from them. This was further propagated by nuns who no longer got periods because they would fast to 'repent', and their body couldn't afford to get periods when their body was starving. But of course the church was like, 'hey, this totally means periods are a sign that women are evil, and only if they repent to god that they are forgiven!' Isn't it boggling that women were so objectified yet feared in the same breath? Wowsers! Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
And considering how common it was to have many children (due to high infant mortality rate and no birth control) I can see how being constantly pregnant could give one the impression that periods aren't a regular thing.
My guess with the church aspect is they also assumed that periods were from because of the Adam/Eve tale, how once Eve commits the first sin she and all women after are cursed to have painful childbirths, and I guess they lump periods in along with that? Again, only a guess
Not sure how accurate is your comment. But people in middle ages had poor understanding of how human body works in general. A lot of ailments were explained by imbalance in bodily fluids and they were pretty obsessed with that and how it can be relieved. Such a theories would likely have something to do with that.

Does this inferentially mean that when transmen/nonbinary or other gendered individuals transition and don't get a period any longer they've found a cure from lycanthropy (being werewolves)?! period advice for those who are new (from someone who actually has their period) keep in mind that some of these may seem obvious to you, but not to others 1. always keep a pad, tampon, or other absorbing period product on hand (in your purse, backpack, or something else you carry around a lot) toilet paper works but only for a short period of time 2. when you are on your period and you go to the bathroom, always bring your period products, even if you just changed your pad Don’t make the mistake of having a pad that’s too full (it gets itchy) 3. Certain pain killers may work for some peoples cramps and not for others, and some might not have any pain killers that work (I’m so sorry if that’s you) but if you do find pain killers that work, bring them with you everywhere and eat food with them because it can hurt your stomach otherwise, if you are a minor, make sure your parents approve it hope this helps! sorry for the longness
To clarify your 1., this means even when you aren't on your period, even when you don't expect your period for a while. The human body will find ways to mess with you. Certain stressors sometimes will alter your cycle just enough to ruin your day if you don't have a way to deal with unexpected flow. Also, if you don't like disposable products, remember to look into menstrual cups. They're not as nice to use while you're away from home, but they're still far more reliable in my experience than pads or tampons. You have to find one that fits you properly, but once you do, and you get used to inserting and removing it, you will have almost no leakage at all, and can use it for typically up to 8 hours at a time! If you plan right, you can avoid having to empty your cup while away from your own bathroom most of the time. This does depend on your own personal size and flow rate, though.
#4 If the pain is debilitating, talk to you doctor. There may be prescription medications that help or you might be suffering from an underlying disorder, ie pcos, fibroids, etc.
You can also get reusable pads and period underwear. Simply rinse them out before washing properly at a low temperature. Yes they’re more costly at the beginning but they last for ages and are way better for the environment, so save you money in the long run. I use WUKA and find them WAY comfier than disposable pads. I also found my period symptoms to be less and my period to be slightly shorter (but I have very weird period symptoms so uh that one might just be me).
You are beautiful inside and outside. Your scars don't make you ugly. They're the proof that you're strong, that you've been through bad things but you've made it. You don't have to push yourself to become perfect. There's no such thing as a perfect human being. You are doing your best and you are enough. You're appreciated and loved the way you are. There was one teacher when I was in school, a coach, who taught world history. I liked him. His class was easy, and as long as you weren’t acting a fool, he was really chill. My favorite part about him though was that he wasn’t a stickler about the bathroom; he rarely told us to wait and even more rarely told us no. One day, on my period, I asked to go to the bathroom during notes/lecture. He asked me to wait until it was over so I sat back down. I wait a couple of minutes and then get back up, still during notes, this time he said yes. I guess he realized it was serious even if he didn’t have the specifics. Another day, this girl asked to go to the bathroom and he asked her to wait so she yelled out about being on her period. He started laughing about how he didn’t need to know that and dismissed her to the bathroom. All the guys, including the teacher, found the situation kind of awkward but ultimately just funny, and it was never really mentioned again. 10/10 teacher right there
I have heard that women tend to run colder than men, which has led people to say that air conditioning is sexist. I don’t know how true that is, though I have a feeling it has nothing to do with having one less layer of skin.
I actually looked into this cause I was born female and am always cold but my cousin always complains he's hot. So a possible explanation I found for why women on average tend to be colder than men is because women have so much blood flowing to the reproductive organs, keeping those organs warm and fully functioning, that is draws blood away from the extremeties, concentrating it close to that area of the body. Take this with a grain of salt cause it's been a while since I looked this up but that's what I found and it makes a lot of sense to me. I mean if you're growing a new human inside you then you'll have to keep that new human warm consistently so it can grow properly and it needs a lot of nutrient rich blood to grow and form. Keeping the blood close to your core and reproductive organs means it can keep the temperature more consistent in those places and it's readily available for a developing fetus (Idk how to spell fetus). And I mean if a good chunk of your blood is in your core and away from your extremeties then you're going to feel cold more often
the "air conditioning ia sexist" claim does have some merit to it. back when air conditioning started to get widely used in public buildings, it was mostly men controlling the temperature because mostly men worked while women were expected to stay at home. now that there are a lot more women in the workforce, the expectations for air conditioning haven't changed. women (or people with lower testosterone levels) tend to run colder, so they want the room's temperature to be higher, while men (or people with higher testosterone levels) run warmer, so they want the room to be cooler. this is why a lot of women complain that the buildings they're in are too cold, it's because the "perfect room temperature" was picked by a man.
Humans generally vary within the same ranges of body temperature, it's just the patterns of warmth can be different across genders, with heat being more evenly distributed in men whereas women tend towards having a warmer torso but colder limbs. This does vary strongly from person to person depending on personal details such as genetics and area of upbringing though, but it's a likely explanation for the classic "women with cold feet/hands" thing.
I don't know much about women's periods, and I don't blame myself. Growing up, when we were going through sex ed, we were segregated by gender, and taught different things. Boys weren't taught about periods, because "You aren't going to bleed from your vagina." And it only got worse growing up, because in the absence of a trustworthy source, I had to do my own work to sort information from misinformation. And when you're young and lack reliable sources, and misinformation comes from sources that should be trustworthy, that can be a really difficult task (To be clear, by the way, I grew up before the internet was a big thing. I still remember getting access to it in the late 90s, it felt like I was in the cool sci fi future.) If we want men to be knowledgeable about women's anatomy and experience, it behooves us to teach them. Ensure that the information taught in sex ed isn't separated by gender, and that the information taught to both boys and girls includes not just information about themselves, but about eachother. And yeah, maybe you have to separate the actual students, I was there and can easily imagine that, but don't separate the information. So many misunderstandings could be avoided this way. A bit less comedy content for your channel, I imagine, but I think it would be worth it in the long run.
I don't know where you went to school but in Finland we had all of the children attend the same sex ed class with the same information. Also this was during the early 2010s for me
Where I grew up, this lesson series was repeated 4 times in 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th grades with 9th combined and the others separated. It was 1 hour a day each day for a week. The first year? Please keep the information specific to what the kids need to know for their own bodies. It's a lot to take in at first if parents haven't explained. Give them a chance to process. Every year after should extend all reproductive education.
As an adult, you have the ability to educate yourself about anything you wish to know. You can't blame the education system for your choice to remain ignorant as an adult.

Idk, what do you mean by violently anemic. I use to be very anemic because I was a cutter. So bleeding from my wrists and stuff still happened even while on my period. But I would faint and my bruises were the sizes of soft balls even just bump from hitting the corner of something in accident. I was always violently cold and pale, kinda greenish tint under my eyes but I always bled.
Menopause happens when we run low on eggs in our ovaries (we are born with all we ever have). Even if the Fallopian tubes did get clogged with animal products it wouldn’t have any effect.
Yeah, people who've had ovary-sparing hysterectomies continue to ovulate, and only stop menstruating because the uterus isn't there to respond to hormone cycles any more, and people who've had tubal ligations continue to ovulate and menstruate, so blocked fallopian tubes would make no difference except to fertility.
'Have it cold' probably came from an incorrect translation from Dutch. It just means 'are cold'. And on a side note, it is true that the ideal room temperature for women (on average) is higher than the ideal room temperature for men (on average), but obviously that doesn't have anything to do with extra layers of skin lol.
Re: vegan menopause. I *think* this idea stems from the use of soy to reduce hot flashes. Long term, daily soy consumption is known to reduce the proteins that relate to hot flashes (science backs this up). If the person thought that hot flash = menopause I could see how they draw their (very wrong) conclusion. Sorry if others have pointed this out already, I scanned the comments and didn't see it.
Before I got my period (and when i still identified as female), I thought everyone got their periods in the full moon. Turns out when I heard people talking about how periods happen about every 28 days like the cycle of the moon, I thought that meant it was at the same time of the full moon… I was very surprised when I found out that was incorrect.
The skin bit is nonsense, but the temperature bit of that comment is true. It can be argued that women's fashion is the issue, as in office attire for women often includes skirts and tights and a blouse, not a full suit, which would be warmer. But if I remember correctly, women in general tend to be colder sooner than men, and the temperature chosen in work spaces is often calibrated to the comfort of men rather than women. It's one of those things where women aren't considered when deciding the average etc.
I think I read that testosterone makes people run slightly hotter? I believe I read a piece from a trans guy who found he was generally warmer after starting T and a lot of people agreed in the comments. I can’t remember if the piece was scientifically backed up or if it was just that person’s experience but it was interesting.
See, women get colder faster because their body focuses on heating their core/stomach region for possible babies and reproductive organs and their extremities are left getting cold faster... It's just that the body is focusing on one part and doesn't do efficient heating for the feet and hands....

I would love to hear your opinion on the manual that was recently introduced to schools in India to sensitize students and teachers on LGBTQ+ rights and issues, but removed a few days later when a far-right person said that it was going to "traumatise children." On the subject of "women get cold faster than men" it's not 100% false, but it's because testosterone (producted or injected, your body doesn't care) induce muscular growth, and while doing nothing muscles produce more energy (and therefore more heat) than other tissus do. Long story short : more testosterone -> more muscles -> more heat (If course this is reductive, but having higher testosterone mâle it easier to develop muscles and that's what I'm trying to explain)

Not understanding women's anatomy is a gendered issue though and erasing that wouldn't be a good thing. Organizations and work places not considering what kind of care women with periods, going through pregnancy and labour is a real issue. In some places girls have to skip school when they're on their period. Some people still hold the idea that menstruating women are too unstable for certain career positions. This is a gendered issue.
Yes, I see that. I am a cis woman and have experienced those issues. That point doesn’t contradict my point. There are also men suffering from these issues, trans men, which get completely erased otherwise. There are women whose biology offers different challenges, among trans and cis people too. We should learn good human anatomy and understand diversity.

That doesn't make them unimportant issues and should be taken seriously, but the majority effected by these things are women. But I definitely agree that learning better and more diverse human anatomy is definitely a good thing!

When I was growing up my dad didn't believe in severe ear aches. I got them a lot as a child and my mom had to take me to the hospital multiple times. My eardrums ruptured once, and I was in a lot of pain, but he still didn't believe me or my mother. He told me to sleep the "pain" off. Anyway, nearly 15 years later he finally got an ear infection so bad he couldn't function at all. My mom and I had no sympathy for him at all.

The first time I used the women's restroom many years ago, I was amazed by the levels of farting It took me a while to realize these people were literally holding them in for the restroom because so many women refuse to admit the fart at all.
I hate the last article they show because it portrays it as if he divorced her because she was trans when really, if you read it, there’s a total of about two sentences near the bottom that say the actual reason was that she cheated on him. But then in the end they drop that and talk about the trans part again. It was purposely made to be transphobic and mostly ignore the real problem.

A cis friend of mine actually has very consistent periods and they always start on the full moon. The first day of her period is often horrible so she would stay home from school on that first day. One of her male classmates noticed this absence that happened only on the full moon and asked her if she was a werewolf.

I’ve heard lots of people say “just hold it” talking about periods. And the analogy I like is the “ever had a nosebleed? Yes? Well why didn’t you hold it?”
I know two men in my life who think this, and one of them refuses to believe me that it just freely flows. ‘Women just want bathroom breaks at work/school while men are forced to work!! They should hold it like men!!’ These men have children. Girls. God help them when they get their periods.
To be fair holding in your pee for too long is not healthy...so the men should also have bathroom breaks as needed. I suppose the moral is: we just need better work environments in which we don't need to deny our basic needs for the sake of productivity.

A few weeks after my hysterectomy, I was talking to a woman who asked me how I was dealing with menopause/if I was taking hormone replacement. I responded that the Dr only had to take one of my ovaries so (being in my mid 30's) I wasn't actually experiencing the hormonal changes of menopause. She was so confused and was like, "So you still get your period?" No matter how I tried to explain it, she could not wrap her head around the idea that my hormones could still cycle like normal, but with no bleeding.

2:49 this idea actually stems from an inaccurate idea of women's anatomy from the middle ages.
It was believed that periods were a manifestation of women's sins for being women (?). It was common for people to make women bleed before periods because they thought it would relieve the 'sins'. Their periods was apparently a sign of the devil, and if they bled, the evil was 'purged' from them.
This was further propagated by nuns who no longer got periods because they would fast to 'repent', and their body couldn't afford to get periods when their body was starving. But of course the church was like, 'hey, this totally means periods are a sign that women are evil, and only if they repent to god that they are forgiven!'
Isn't it boggling that women were so objectified yet feared in the same breath? Wowsers!

Not sure how accurate is your comment. But people in middle ages had poor understanding of how human body works in general. A lot of ailments were explained by imbalance in bodily fluids and they were pretty obsessed with that and how it can be relieved. Such a theories would likely have something to do with that.

Does this inferentially mean that when transmen/nonbinary or other gendered individuals transition and don't get a period any longer they've found a cure from lycanthropy (being werewolves)?! period advice for those who are new (from someone who actually has their period)
keep in mind that some of these may seem obvious to you, but not to others
1. always keep a pad, tampon, or other absorbing period product on hand (in your purse, backpack, or something else you carry around a lot)
toilet paper works but only for a short period of time
2. when you are on your period and you go to the bathroom, always bring your period products, even if you just changed your pad
Don’t make the mistake of having a pad that’s too full (it gets itchy)
3. Certain pain killers may work for some peoples cramps and not for others, and some might not have any pain killers that work (I’m so sorry if that’s you) but if you do find pain killers that work, bring them with you everywhere and eat food with them because it can hurt your stomach otherwise, if you are a minor, make sure your parents approve it

To clarify your 1., this means even when you aren't on your period, even when you don't expect your period for a while. The human body will find ways to mess with you. Certain stressors sometimes will alter your cycle just enough to ruin your day if you don't have a way to deal with unexpected flow.
Also, if you don't like disposable products, remember to look into menstrual cups. They're not as nice to use while you're away from home, but they're still far more reliable in my experience than pads or tampons. You have to find one that fits you properly, but once you do, and you get used to inserting and removing it, you will have almost no leakage at all, and can use it for typically up to 8 hours at a time! If you plan right, you can avoid having to empty your cup while away from your own bathroom most of the time. This does depend on your own personal size and flow rate, though.
#4 If the pain is debilitating, talk to you doctor. There may be prescription medications that help or you might be suffering from an underlying disorder, ie pcos, fibroids, etc.
You can also get reusable pads and period underwear. Simply rinse them out before washing properly at a low temperature. Yes they’re more costly at the beginning but they last for ages and are way better for the environment, so save you money in the long run.
I use WUKA and find them WAY comfier than disposable pads. I also found my period symptoms to be less and my period to be slightly shorter (but I have very weird period symptoms so uh that one might just be me).
#3 Magnesium can help reducing cramps/pain.

It’s truly amazing that women can’t bleed when on their period. I once saw a woman get her arm torn off and she was fine because there wasn’t any blood loss. Well she was fine before the second bear showed up.
There was one teacher when I was in school, a coach, who taught world history. I liked him. His class was easy, and as long as you weren’t acting a fool, he was really chill. My favorite part about him though was that he wasn’t a stickler about the bathroom; he rarely told us to wait and even more rarely told us no.
One day, on my period, I asked to go to the bathroom during notes/lecture. He asked me to wait until it was over so I sat back down. I wait a couple of minutes and then get back up, still during notes, this time he said yes. I guess he realized it was serious even if he didn’t have the specifics.
Another day, this girl asked to go to the bathroom and he asked her to wait so she yelled out about being on her period. He started laughing about how he didn’t need to know that and dismissed her to the bathroom. All the guys, including the teacher, found the situation kind of awkward but ultimately just funny, and it was never really mentioned again.

I have heard that women tend to run colder than men, which has led people to say that air conditioning is sexist. I don’t know how true that is, though I have a feeling it has nothing to do with having one less layer of skin.
no it's just that womens average body temperature is a little higher and because of that they feel cold more quickly
I actually looked into this cause I was born female and am always cold but my cousin always complains he's hot. So a possible explanation I found for why women on average tend to be colder than men is because women have so much blood flowing to the reproductive organs, keeping those organs warm and fully functioning, that is draws blood away from the extremeties, concentrating it close to that area of the body. Take this with a grain of salt cause it's been a while since I looked this up but that's what I found and it makes a lot of sense to me. I mean if you're growing a new human inside you then you'll have to keep that new human warm consistently so it can grow properly and it needs a lot of nutrient rich blood to grow and form. Keeping the blood close to your core and reproductive organs means it can keep the temperature more consistent in those places and it's readily available for a developing fetus (Idk how to spell fetus). And I mean if a good chunk of your blood is in your core and away from your extremeties then you're going to feel cold more often
the "air conditioning ia sexist" claim does have some merit to it. back when air conditioning started to get widely used in public buildings, it was mostly men controlling the temperature because mostly men worked while women were expected to stay at home. now that there are a lot more women in the workforce, the expectations for air conditioning haven't changed. women (or people with lower testosterone levels) tend to run colder, so they want the room's temperature to be higher, while men (or people with higher testosterone levels) run warmer, so they want the room to be cooler. this is why a lot of women complain that the buildings they're in are too cold, it's because the "perfect room temperature" was picked by a man.
Humans generally vary within the same ranges of body temperature, it's just the patterns of warmth can be different across genders, with heat being more evenly distributed in men whereas women tend towards having a warmer torso but colder limbs. This does vary strongly from person to person depending on personal details such as genetics and area of upbringing though, but it's a likely explanation for the classic "women with cold feet/hands" thing.
It’s also probably partially because women’s clothes are usually made thinner than men’s and women tend to shave a lot more of their body hair off.
I don't know much about women's periods, and I don't blame myself.
Growing up, when we were going through sex ed, we were segregated by gender, and taught different things. Boys weren't taught about periods, because "You aren't going to bleed from your vagina." And it only got worse growing up, because in the absence of a trustworthy source, I had to do my own work to sort information from misinformation. And when you're young and lack reliable sources, and misinformation comes from sources that should be trustworthy, that can be a really difficult task (To be clear, by the way, I grew up before the internet was a big thing. I still remember getting access to it in the late 90s, it felt like I was in the cool sci fi future.)
If we want men to be knowledgeable about women's anatomy and experience, it behooves us to teach them. Ensure that the information taught in sex ed isn't separated by gender, and that the information taught to both boys and girls includes not just information about themselves, but about eachother.
And yeah, maybe you have to separate the actual students, I was there and can easily imagine that, but don't separate the information. So many misunderstandings could be avoided this way. A bit less comedy content for your channel, I imagine, but I think it would be worth it in the long run.
I don't know where you went to school but in Finland we had all of the children attend the same sex ed class with the same information. Also this was during the early 2010s for me
Where I grew up, this lesson series was repeated 4 times in 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th grades with 9th combined and the others separated. It was 1 hour a day each day for a week.
The first year? Please keep the information specific to what the kids need to know for their own bodies. It's a lot to take in at first if parents haven't explained. Give them a chance to process.
Every year after should extend all reproductive education.
As an adult, you have the ability to educate yourself about anything you wish to know. You can't blame the education system for your choice to remain ignorant as an adult.

Idk, what do you mean by violently anemic. I use to be very anemic because I was a cutter. So bleeding from my wrists and stuff still happened even while on my period. But I would faint and my bruises were the sizes of soft balls even just bump from hitting the corner of something in accident. I was always violently cold and pale, kinda greenish tint under my eyes but I always bled.
Menopause happens when we run low on eggs in our ovaries (we are born with all we ever have). Even if the Fallopian tubes did get clogged with animal products it wouldn’t have any effect.
Yeah, people who've had ovary-sparing hysterectomies continue to ovulate, and only stop menstruating because the uterus isn't there to respond to hormone cycles any more, and people who've had tubal ligations continue to ovulate and menstruate, so blocked fallopian tubes would make no difference except to fertility.

Re: vegan menopause. I *think* this idea stems from the use of soy to reduce hot flashes. Long term, daily soy consumption is known to reduce the proteins that relate to hot flashes (science backs this up). If the person thought that hot flash = menopause I could see how they draw their (very wrong) conclusion. Sorry if others have pointed this out already, I scanned the comments and didn't see it.
Before I got my period (and when i still identified as female), I thought everyone got their periods in the full moon. Turns out when I heard people talking about how periods happen about every 28 days like the cycle of the moon, I thought that meant it was at the same time of the full moon… I was very surprised when I found out that was incorrect.
The skin bit is nonsense, but the temperature bit of that comment is true. It can be argued that women's fashion is the issue, as in office attire for women often includes skirts and tights and a blouse, not a full suit, which would be warmer. But if I remember correctly, women in general tend to be colder sooner than men, and the temperature chosen in work spaces is often calibrated to the comfort of men rather than women. It's one of those things where women aren't considered when deciding the average etc.
I think I read that testosterone makes people run slightly hotter? I believe I read a piece from a trans guy who found he was generally warmer after starting T and a lot of people agreed in the comments. I can’t remember if the piece was scientifically backed up or if it was just that person’s experience but it was interesting.
See, women get colder faster because their body focuses on heating their core/stomach region for possible babies and reproductive organs and their extremities are left getting cold faster...
It's just that the body is focusing on one part and doesn't do efficient heating for the feet and hands....

I would love to hear your opinion on the manual that was recently introduced to schools in India to sensitize students and teachers on LGBTQ+ rights and issues, but removed a few days later when a far-right person said that it was going to "traumatise children." I haven't heard many people talking about it and feel strongly about this issue as it happened in my own country.
Arrgh. So tired of the "think of the children!" argument. Hadn't heard about the India case but this kind of thing happens in US school districts all the time. But kids generally are not confused at all if you explain simply.

On the subject of "women get cold faster than men" it's not 100% false, but it's because testosterone (producted or injected, your body doesn't care) induce muscular growth, and while doing nothing muscles produce more energy (and therefore more heat) than other tissus do.
Long story short : more testosterone -> more muscles -> more heat
(If course this is reductive, but having higher testosterone mâle it easier to develop muscles and that's what I'm trying to explain)

Not understanding women's anatomy is a gendered issue though and erasing that wouldn't be a good thing. Organizations and work places not considering what kind of care women with periods, going through pregnancy and labour is a real issue. In some places girls have to skip school when they're on their period. Some people still hold the idea that menstruating women are too unstable for certain career positions. This is a gendered issue.
Yes, I see that. I am a cis woman and have experienced those issues. That point doesn’t contradict my point. There are also men suffering from these issues, trans men, which get completely erased otherwise. There are women whose biology offers different challenges, among trans and cis people too. We should learn good human anatomy and understand diversity.
@@Elektrochoke I would still say that with trans men many of the things that I mentioned are more an issue on an individual and not systematic level. That doesn't make them unimportant issues and should be taken seriously, but the majority effected by these things are women. But I definitely agree that learning better and more diverse human anatomy is definitely a good thing!
Honestly, we should all understand basic reproductive anatomy as the majority of us become fertile and able to make more of ourselves.

When I was growing up my dad didn't believe in severe ear aches. I got them a lot as a child and my mom had to take me to the hospital multiple times. My eardrums ruptured once, and I was in a lot of pain, but he still didn't believe me or my mother. He told me to sleep the "pain" off.
Anyway, nearly 15 years later he finally got an ear infection so bad he couldn't function at all. My mom and I had no sympathy for him at all.
