Wow. Your best content yet. And that is hard to say as all of your content is amazingly skillful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience sir
I appreciate the knowledge Dino, 30 yr old second generation Masonry contractor from America I know a old educated legend when I see one. You’re appreciated by us truly passionate craftsmen, thanks again Dino.
Brushing that flaunching will just leave it open to the elements, I was always taught to use a 2.5 to 1 mix and polish it when it had nearly gone of leaving it as smooth as possible, same with benching in manholes.
Answer ya own question sue, in a manhole ya want the water to roll off the benching back into the pipes, don’t want the soot rolling back into the chimney and down back into the fire, ya would rather it get trapped at the exit point 😌
another amazing video, I hope that those that know have picked up on the lining bricks are LBC a company that doesn't exist anymore and have been a bone of contention on SkillBuilder. Shows how old they are .
Spot on Dean, nice bond and setting out. Think if it was me on the dogtooth course instead of the soft reds I would’ve used an imperial blue. Knowing that in 100 years time I’ll be back up there replacing them 😂.
Absolutely brilliant channel & bloke. Love this guy his values & what he stands for. I’m a chippy of 55 so this isn’t my trade. But I am absolutely hooked . Well done dean . Keeping posting these brilliant videos . All the best to you
Yes I was going to comment on the fact you were so insistent on keep a proper bond, then you said about cutting in closets, which I tend to do on piers ect 👍
And what not match the existing …get a grip fella listen Dnt come on here with that sxxt ask a respectful question and you will get a respectful response
I would love a pint with u Deano mate. Would love too hook up if I’m ever down south brother. NVQ LEVEL 3, INTERMEDIATE CRAFT AWARD, ADVANCED CRAFT AWARD, SMSTS college years 2004-2008, old school trowel pal 👍
Why the 3/4 and header in the face . Pointless tying into the 'wiffs' ..... They never used to in the old days . They relied on good old gravity . Keep it simple . 👍🏴
Sorry mate but you’re incorrect…awkward points they stretcher bonded and scratched the false joint in as you was able to do so as the stocks wore cooked at leaser temp . This method is passed down to me from generations dating back to 1731
Nice. I hope more people now get to know the importance of lime in pre 1920 buildings. I get a bit frustrated myself trying to explain to people sometimes .
Neat job that like the coin .Only day they will be finding them all over and doing a documentary on it .👍🏻 what a Joke about the (wireless old school ) loved the old music need to make a builder CD dean with all the old tunes and flog them out 💡
