I just did z1 coils, and oem plugs while doing a valve cover job. From what I’ve noticed when up to temp/ driving they run fine, but when it’s cold it misfires p0300. My brand new plugs are also starting to burn.
I hate to say it but it’s entirely possible that it’s the Z1 coil packs
My local Nissan specialist related a story to me about a Z that ran worse on z1 coils than the used oem he had and stressed I only do oem hitachi when I had to replace mine
@@BalancePointMediadamn .. so my misfire could be from the z1 coil packs . My car sounds cammed in the morning , I took it to the shop replaced bank 2 sensor 2 he said there was water in the 02 . I start it in the morning no check engine , but the idle still dies out and it still sounds like it’s missing
Yeah it had one from previous owner. It was due to oil in plug 3. Changed spark plugs while doing valve covers. Did valve covers incorrectly first time. Redoing valve covers rn as I type. Found out one of my coil packs is non oem.
I wish I would’ve started a channel for the g I bought. For starters here is the first three things I found wrong: PVC pipe and electrical tape, hot air intakes (could pull the filter off by hand). Also had a rear wheel on the front and the front wheel on the back (when he rotated his tires didn’t realize he had stagger set). Everything not mechanical was bolted together by one bolt (grill goes flying off the front of the car going down the expressway at about 120). 😂😂😂 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
I have a 2019 370Z that's been tuned with a CAI and CBE that's putting out nearly 60 more crankshaft horsepower than stock. I'm hitting 64K miles and have noticed that the engine is running a little less smoothly than it was before and was thinking that my plugs may be getting a little dirty and eroded by now. If I replace the plugs, I am also going to clean the throttle bodiesand am considering whether I should go with some new coil packs. I'm interested in a high performance set from a company called Ignition Projects that makes a multi-spark discharge type of coil pack.
Got my g37 with 45k miles. It now has 67. Been misfiring and giving me problems for years
I’m experiencing a random misfire but no code… i just did my plugs around a month ago and im experiencing a random misfire! My car is FBO Tuned on e85! But I can’t seem to narrow down the issue, I did my plugs, cleaned throttle bodies, and Maf!
@@bardo5779 that’s kinda what I’m leaning towards I’m running id1050x injectors and a aem 340lp fuel pump but I had literally just got the injectors cleaned thinking it would help but unfortunately not bro
same very strange random misfire sound coming from the top, on my 09 g37x , but the crazy thing is that i can reproduce it when i stop at a specific intersection that has those induction wires in the asphalt…adding that i did plugs but not coils, cars at 73k. did find oil in plug number 2…
Plugs & coils: 2011 G25 Journey, 33K original miles, original plugs & coils, runs fine, no codes, is age an issue or not really and wait for a code? BTW; great info video.
At that mileage the recommendation is to change them but if it were my car I’d just wait for a code and do the plugs and coil packs at the same time

Hey I did the same shit. Changed my plugs at 135 k. Didn’t do coil packs. Now I’m at 165 k and I got 4 burnt plugs.
Hey I’m going to buy the ngk ignition coils should I also get ngk iridium plugs?
Whatever ngk makes that’s oem spec is what I’d recommend
The only exception is if you’re going turbo or supercharger you’d want to consider 1 step colder
my 370z only has 28,000 miles and i got a p0303 code not sure if its coil packs or spark.

@@scatpack1381 Wish that were true. My local nissan specialist had to pull a set of Z1 coilpacks off a G due to them running worse than old oem ones. The coilpacks are the only Z1 product I wouldn't buy
I have owned my 2 370z ‘s for a few years now one is a 2020 the other is a 2014 and my experience has been even the expensive ones have failures it’s a toss up I feel no matter wich ones you buy. As long as you are able to return the faulty ones
I been having a p0300 for about 2 years changed coil packs and spark plugs and still keeps misfiring 🥲
My 2019 370z check engine light just came on. Code #P0300, from what I’m reading online.

Addendum to the PSA……..replacing older coils can restore lost power even if there are no misfires. On my 2010 Nissan Titan I replaced the plugs at 100K miles and didn’t do the coils. It ran a lot better. No more higher rpm hesitation. Ran like that up to around 130K when I decided to pretty much renew everything under the hood. After I replaced the coils I was surprised at how well it ran. It woke the truck up even more. Guessing the coils just degrade over time and it’s so subtle that you don’t notice. I also only use OEM coils but not from the dealer. Nissan doesn’t make coils, they get the from Hitachi or Hanshin in my case. It’s stamped on the coil. Find out which coil is used in your car and get that exact one somewhere cheaper, like RockAuto or Amazon.
