Love this recipe! I have a whole bunch of small amounts of different beans I need to use and local smoked sausage in the freezer. Plus a clean out of the veggies in my fridge! I always use the celery leaves in my soups but never have added in the end! What a brightness and the added flavor will be wonderful! Rainy and cold to day so this is perfect.
Thanks for your extended comments in your description section. I have always made this in my slow cooker, but decided to use the instapot. 😉👍 I'm going for 55 minutes and if I need to cook longer I'll do an open sautee 10m version. 😊 Looks Yummy! 😍 I need to work on my tastebuds to get through the okra, but maybe next time... 🙏👍
Absolutely! There are stovetop instructions on the back of the bag. They don't include the extra veggies, but you can saute them on the stovetop along with any sausage you use. Next time you're at the store, look for the Hurst's bean soup mixes and read a few of the bags to see which one to try. You can pick up the other ingredients at the same time! Thanks so much for watching! 💖🐝
I just came across your video, and this looks delicious. I already have my Cajun beans and am deciding how to cook them. I don't eat sausage, but do you think bacon will be a good substitute?
Bacon would be a great substitute so long as you 1) don't add the olive oil at the beginning since the bacon will give off plenty of fat, and 2) drain off excess fat with the bacon so that you only have 1-2 tablespoons left in the pot to cook (you can save the extra bacon fat for later use if you want!). Also, mind the extra salt the bacon will bring - I'm a salt fiend so I think it would be awesome! Thanks so much for watching! 💖🐝
Hi, Sue! Use some extra Cajun seasoning instead. I'd say there's about 1 tablespoon or so in the packet so make it a total of 2 TB's and then you can add more after cooking if you need to. Thanks for watching! 💖🐝
Not necessary with a pressure cooker - just wash and sort for rocks and debris. But if you do have time to soak your beans, you can cut cooking time down to 20-25minutes depending on how soft you like your beans. Also, be sure to read through the NOTE in the description block about timing and pressure setting. Thanks for watching! 💖🐝
I certainly agree with you, though the recipe gives me a great idea, because it looks great...but you're right-this music is WAY too much, and distracting!!
Never heard of 15 bean soup but made this now twice and it's Delicious!!!!

Thanks so much, Salina! 💖🐝
Just tried this flavor. it won't be the last time. Though I did go light on the spice and used ham only. Yummmmm!!
"Sort and Rinse the beans"...the rinse was pretty quick but it took hours to sort them all...plus there was way more than 15 beans in that bag. :)
Haha! Too funny! 💖🐝
😂
The fried okra at the end looks like a delicious addition!
It was! Thanks so much for watching! 💖🐝

Can I use a regular pot? I don’t have an instapot!
