    In its heyday, that was a beautiful backyard oasis. Hot tub, outdoor kitchen, patio, built-in seating area, even additional wiring for lighting…someone put money in that yard. So sad to see the current owners not keep it up. Al, you did an awesome job cleaning it up. 🥰 I hope they get the junk removed, fence repaired and keep it up.

    I happen on your You tube channels a few weeks ago by chance and now I am hooked watching you transform yards! I’m amazed at how able bodied people let their yards go. Don’t get me wrong, I understand hardships; I’ve had my share but these yards are ridiculous! For the old and the ones under financial hardship, I get it, but most of these people are healthy and have no sense of pride in their homes. It’s disheartening 😢! Bravo to Al for your generosity! Don’t burn out doing this!! ❤

      Burn out, tired… that’s where a lot of these souls seem to be, they’ve got work, tiny kids, stuff to deal with, worry worry worry, in the face of that, lawn care drops down on the priority list. Then every time you glance out a window and see the jungle, it just is another stressor.

You relieve the stress and anxiety that comes with not being able to take care of your property.

      I absolutely agree. Amazing job and uncovered treasures to boot. I have experiences facing a yard like that. I had a 1/3 acre and every year the weather would be so nasty and rainy. The weeds and grass and bindweed would grow while I was unable to use a trimmer or mower. By the time the weather cleared up my yard was over whelming and it would take me all summer day after day to get it under control again. haha fall was nice tho. As a senior single lady I can see how it can easily get out of control. That's a big yard for one person.

    Al Bladez, our hero. He is the most motivated, ambitious and thorough hardworking man I know . He takes a lot of abuse from some of his clients that don’t believe in picking up after themselves, wrapping up their garden hoses, cleaning up their junk hidden in the long grass. He does it for free and their consciences don’t seem to care if he wrecks his equipment by running over stuff he can’t see in the tall grass. So shameful. If I ever was fortunate enough to have a backyard like this one, I’d think I died and went to heaven. I’m a 76 year old woman with health issues but I can still hold my own because I’m stubborn. I can still lift a hammer to put some nails in fence boards too to make things look better. I take pride in my home and yard.

      I'm 43 yo female and I have chronic back and hip problems as well as arthritis in my knee but I still make sure the garden looks nice even if it takes me so much longer and I also tackle my grandma's, if I do too much in one day I then spend several days recovering, so there's not really any reason to have your yard look like a junkyard when you can still cut the front yard

      I know an 85 y/o woman who STILL maintains her OWN yard. She has a driving lawnmower and she’s a Christian and even does her neighbor’s yard for them when she has the time. She scoots across her yard like it’s nobody’s business and has plants that she grows & maintains and has one of the most beautiful homes I’ve ever seen (which she takes care of herself even though she has children who can help her). She is an awesome example to this younger woman… and I love her fortitude so much and admire her wisdom deeply. She’s one of my good friends and her name is Miriam. (I made friends with her unexpectedly bc she used to be a Florist and I am also one). Honestly… I understand how some ppl don’t have the equipment or tools, and sometimes the health to maintain their own yards, but where there is a will, there is always a way! (Even if you have to hire someone)…. I think it’s such a wonderful blessing that Al helps his neighbors in need who might need an extra hand. We can all learn a thing or two from his wonderful example! I learn so much from Miriam. She is my hero and one of the ladies I treasure most in my life… I love listening to her stories and what God has brought her through in her lifetime. She’s just a gem and inspiration to me and I hope to be self-sufficient & reliant upon God like her when I’m an older woman…. someday I’d like to pass down the knowledge He gives me also.

    A touch of my OCD kicks in when I see yards with old cars, trucks, boats, pools, hottubs, etc which can be thrown away. However I do understand that people aren't always able to remove these themselves or pay someone to. Being elderly and semi disabled I know the struggles of trying to keep a yard nice looking!

    While I understand that sometimes illness and circumstances cause it, I am always so surprised when I see how people will allow their yards to get so full of trash and overgrown! What an amazing transformation! God Bless you for making such a difference!

    • @Cloudburst2000
      @Cloudburst2000 Рік тому +12

      It can get out of control very quickly. I think it often happens when people fall on hard times and can’t afford either the tools to upkeep or pay someone to upkeep. I knew a woman whose husband abandoned her with their young children. She was working two jobs just to put food on the table and keep the lights on. She didn’t have time for yard work, she also did not have the money to pay someone to do it. Her yard got overgrown very quickly. Luckily, people in the community stepped forward to help her with the yard work. But stuff like this happens way more often than you think. Yard work isn’t usually a person’s main concern if they are struggling to feed their family.

I bet if she got her patio pressure washed, a few nailes in the boards of her fence to repair it & company like 1-800-Junk to remove that broken hot tub & other debris, her backyard would be very nice. You did a great job! I hope this inspires the homeowner to continue to get her backyard back in shape. I just subscribed to your channel. 😊

But I can still get out there with a string trimmer when I need to. This yard with all that patio work could easily be maintained with one. It doesn’t all have to be done in one day. They are also battery powered now so you wouldn’t have to worry about gas & oil. As are blowers. Just saying!

      What gets me is letting the brick area getting overgrown. All it takes is a box of kosher/canning salt; a gallon of cleaning vinegar 5 or 6% acidity, and a tablespoon of dish soap. Cover the brick area with the salt, mix the vinegar and dish soap together and either use a watering can or a pump spray and apply the liquid to the salt. Learned this in a landscaping class almost 50 yrs ago and still use it today.
