@@bigrig8539 also, every country has an intelligence service that uses bots to influence people. for example, in the UK I see lots of new accounts being made in support for bringing back our old PM boris johnson, and they all retweet the same kind of stuff. the UK has a dedicated part of the army for this, this is all out in the open. israel has these bots or sometimes paid people on twitter accounts to harrass pro-palestinian tweets. japan has these bots that you might have seen, when anyone mentions japanese war crimes during WW2, they completely spam the replies with propaganda about how japan was innocent lol. the US also uses bots for various things, but ESPECIALLY for regime change abroad. one I can think of just last year that especially focused on twitter was ethiopia, where the US clearly had bots/accounts to try make people terrified there was a bigger civil war than there actually was, so that they might start all attacking each other and completely destabalise the country (luckily there is now a peace treaty between the 2 groups). there is no other country in the world that has successfully managed to overthrow/corrupt as many other countries' political structure than the US. there are bots/paid account operations with loads of evidence, and then usually come the admissions once there's too much evidence. yet still, there is barely no evidence for the russian government being responsible for getting trump in, despite them having way less GDP that the US so they shouldn't be able to invest in hiding these kinds of things better. of course there are russian bots, but the idea that they got trump in is ridiculous when the US is built from white supremacy and has all the foundations and recent history of being very right wing. even democrats are right wing to most of the world, especially what is allowed to be done to people that aren't americans when soldiers are abroad. people should care more about the bots that genuinely affect their own countries' politics, made by people in their own country. also, to show solidarity with the countries in the global south that have been horrifically affected by regime change/western interference with their politics that keeps the country in poverty and/or war.
