    Thanks for bringing the phrasing to our attention. I thought I had this piece down but realised I wasn't paying much attention to the phrasing

    As a self learner, I find your advice has been very helpful for level one and two . I am on level three page 12 Serenade. It has occurred to me that when you change fingers in the past and now on line 2 ,bar one that the intention of the piece was to teach the pupil to be able to jump notes rather than stretch. There will be times when one has to leap and without looking at the keyboard. I would appreciate you comments

      There are different fingering styles taught and used in piano playing. The style I use and teach involves trying to play a piece legato at first as that seems to provided the most dependable fingering, which means not so much jumping around.
