Thank you for sharing this. I have Canva Pro and I still could not figure out how to remove the background on my uploaded pictures on my own. I was so frustrated. I feltlike I had wasted my money on my monthly subscription with Canva. Well I'm glad I found this video. It gives me food for thought.

I've been needing this for a school project and I've been trying to find a helping video for so long!

This doesn't really work anymore. Spark is now Adobe Creative cloud, and the customization features are now behind a paywall. SO - if the image is big enough and the automated adobe software removes everything for you - you're set...but I'm finding it's leaving random blank spots and ghosted images, which you can not remove unless you upgrade.

Glad it helped! If you want to keep using Express, consider just adding an element (like a square or brush stroke), of a similar colour and putting it over what you need to block. Otherwise, check out my latest video which has some new software that may have what you need. Good luck with the design!

this is helping me out question though how could I remove the white parts from my image I am stuck on that any help would be appreciated cause what I'm trying to do it shows the white and it ruins what I'm working on which is why I am asking

It can be tricky when it gets down to the last few areas of complicated photos. If you check out my new video there's a link to a few more apps that help remove BG, one of them may catch the problem areas. Lastly there's a free software listed called PhotoScapeX that will give you the most control over removing trouble areas. Hope that helps!

You could consider product shots, or sometimes logos and patterns that you want to place on new designs.

Sorry to hear there, sadly removing the background automatically online is a bit of hit and miss. A new site I found is www.erase.bg/ - give that a try and see if you get better luck.

For this video I used a computer, so not sure if it would work on iPhone. On phones, iPhone and Android, there's a lot of apps that focus solely on removing the background and do so well.

If the design is an image file, like a JPEG or PNG, this trick can work to remove backgrounds, but not as reliably.

How do you upload it from Adobe? I can’t figure out HOW you got the picture from Adobe to Canva?

The simplest way is to download the Adobe image as a PNG, then upload it to Canva. While in Adobe, you can try to Copy it like you would ay text, but there's not guarantee that'll work. Give that a try and let me know!

I think the program may have some difficulty with text as it may think it's in the background. Sadly currently most algorithms work well with items or people.

Check out the updated link in the description, some of the software listed in the new video may be of help! If you can't copy and paste the image from another app or website, try downloading it and then uploading it to Canva.

This was false advertising. The title said "Free Canva Trick" but the explanation morphed overt to Spark. Yes. I watched the whole thing and it was a scam.

I appreciate the feedback, however, Adobe Spark (which is now called Adobe Express) is a free application and the features described were free to use when the video was recorded.
A newer video linked in the description lists out another 5 free programs to use to remove backgrounds. All the best!
