    Great video!
Do you still use the Tayama?
Also curious about which one is easier to clean and more sturdy.

      Thanks a bunch.
I actually don't use the Tayama much anymore since I have an older version which creates less soy milk per use. Also, the grinding cylinder on the MioMat really seems to help grind the beans better to give you less waste.
I haven't noticed any difference in sturdiness and both of them clean up in the same way. Just wipe them down right after use and you won't have any bean residue sticking to the blades or the inside cylinder.

The Tayama cup itself doesn't give an exact measurement, but it holds about 100 mL of water. It also has gram markings on the side that goes up to approximately 85 grams.
The recipes in the book will say "1 cup," "½ cup" which refers to the actual cup that comes with the machine and not the Imperial system most Americans use. The recipe book even says their measurements in the recipes can be modified to personal tastes.
      MioMat uses a similar system.

4:46 don’t submerge the bottom jar because there are electronics inside

Yes, this is good advice. I do not submerge the bottom jars nor put them in the dishwasher.

THINKING: That's what I'm famous for. Try soaking your beans and using the DRY BEANS mode. I'll bet it's for better grinding. Just try it and see.

Thank you for the great idea! I'll be trying that soon.

The MioMat sounds way quieter in this video, can anyone confirm in person?

    • @HappyHealthyWife

If you mean to compare the sound of the MioMat to the Tayama, when they run the blades to grind the beans, they are about the same in terms of loudness. In my opinion, the difference in sound is not great enough to make me buy one over the other.

They look like a soup machine.

The MioMat is designed to also make creamy or chunky soups and I guess you could do something similar with the Tayama.
