Roccat really is doing everything in thier power to not be taken seriously in the gaming peripheral space.
I feel like at this point the best options are either the Wooting or just building a custom at whatever budget you set. There’s no real reason to be buying these branded “gaming keyboards”
i guess now that rapid trigger got added to the apex pro/razer huntsman analog, these boards are at least worth considering if u want the pure gaming performance of the wooting where it is unavailable/significantly more expensive.
but besides that, i completely agree with you
agree, came from razer blackwidow 2019 to IKBC CD108 to my own build around 50usd, I regret that I bought razer keyboard and green switch

Though supposedly the new Blackwidow is at least decent from a keyboard enthusiast perspective. And if you care for such things, the RGB is massively better than any of the QMK based keyboards.

I swear Roccat has to make products not just for Roblox and Minecraft kids. They need to focus on the burst and kone shapes. They can have something amazing if they even do half of what logi and razer do.
They have so much potential
minecraft is where most their consumers come from so they mostlikely wont change. Why change and risk ur profit when u already have a consistent market?
I mean, focusing on the Kone and Burst shapes for 15 years got them taken over by Turtle Beach, so I'm not sure that was working either.

makes sense, out of all the gaming stuff ive ever used, turtle beach had the worst build quality out of every other brand and by a wide margin
Im no expert, but im pretty sure making the keycaps low profile doesn't reduce the keyboard's height if the switches are still full sized.
Safe to say Roccat wont be sending you anymore of their products to review 😂
problem with roccat is they focus more on aesthetic than form and function, their stuff looks pretty on a desk but that's where the pros end
I think weight would've been a good metric to include in the video.
You should do the DrunkDeer keyboard. They seem to compete with Wooting, to an extent.

I would say that Roccat fell off, but the fact is that they got left behind. Over the last several years gaming peripherals have improved a lot, but Roccat never did.

actually the roccat kone pro is not bad for a light weight mouse. The keyboards are aweful tho.
I had the bigger version of this keyboard (an older version) and its even more terrible, some keys that were used often just stopped working and also do the keycaps just deterioate after some time

Theyre just glorified workspace keyboards with RGB, that companies then aggressively brand by calling it 'gaming keyboard' to trick consumers. Not a wooting fan btw, waiting for a competitor release
Not really, because office keyboards use cheap schematics and controllers, there are limit on simultaneously pressed keys, often it's horrible, like 4 keys.
A few days ago Razer made a Keyboard with 0.1 actuation and rapid trigger. SteelSeries Apex pro line also has rapid trigger now

I tried this keyboard since I love lower profile keyboards, and the switches felt so terrible like I dont even know how to explain how bad it felt
The DrunkDear keyboards might be good to check out in the future as a competitor to Wooting

I really, really dislike this style of keycap *especially* on keyboards that are not specifically low-profile. Even moreso when the keyboard has absolutely zero bezel, making it immediately obvious how thin and un-proportional they are aesthetically.
It's amazing how little companies focus on the typing experience for this price, I guess they'd rather focus on marketing wank.
I just want low latency and good quality.

what happened to gaming keyboard in the last couple years? All the shown keyboards except for the wooting maybe, look like they have some very fragile keys consisting of some sort of flat piece of plastic sitting on a piston sort of mechanism. No leading on the movement no nothing. And why are they all so tiny?
My roccat aimo i had for more than 5 years now started making some funny noises on some of the overused keys. And when looking at the options i have with the current generation of keyboards, which cost around 150-200 dollars, have the wierdest most fragile looking key mechanics and the aesthetics of a old school microsoft or cherry keyboard... I think funny sounding keys are alright after all.
I think it’s not that bad except for the key caps but tbf, I got that keyboard for 50€ 😂
