I was just telling my daughter the other day how when we were growing up we used wax and cloth on our jams and jelly’s. Nice to hear from someone else that remembers that😁♥️
Thank god I've actually found someone from the UK that knows how to can in a pressure canner :) I've just bought a Presto 23 quart and I'm in central UK mainland there are very few people that do it correctly in the UK so thanks excellent video :) I also have a glass cooktop it takes my Presto abput 40 mins to come to pressure on it :)
@@helentolley2755 Hi Helen, thank you so much! I only started canning around a year ago and absolutely love it! What sort of things do you pressure can? I'm a member of the preserving and canning group uk on facebook where I've also gotten some good ideas from 😊 happy canning!
@@helentolley2755 oh nice job! It's great to see preserved jars on the shelf! I find beef stew is so handy to heat up when you don't feel like cooking. Happy canning!
@TrishasKitchenNI Im more of future planning canner. As an economist, I believe GOOD meat will be very expensive. I do can some meals but mainly single ingredient for flexibility. I also dehydrate and store rice, flour, pasta etc in mylar bags with 02 absorbers - after 10 years it has accumulated but it does provide peace of mind - so glad to find your channel (Lurgan area)
