these guys could make a double album with nothing but demos and it would be one of the greatest rock albums ever, the lyrics and melodies are so amazing, insightful, beautiful, why don't they release these songs? I don't understand it
+Alex Seelig you and me both. It was some board with the out of the vein theme if I remember correctly. Was an amazing place to grab alot of their underground/un-released songs.
hey hey. arion salazar here. stephan and i made this demo in 2001 i think. took about four hours. stephan on drums,a 4 bar loop, and finger picky guitar. i played bass, most of guitars, including that bizarre flutey guitar riff. i also wrote at least half of the music. listening to it now, it sounds good. no big deal just wanted to set the record straight.
Arion we love you and miss you! You're the reason I picked up a bass in 4th grade, hope you're doing well, brother man. Saw you once with XEB in Chicago and it was truly magical.
I hope they make their fifth album out of songs like this. Because this is back to their roots. Back to what they were on their first album but new at the same time. I love it!
Lyrics: I thought about it lately The way you tried to save me Wasn't much to me I just wanted to have my fun All of my damage done, It wasn't much to me Now I'm stuck inside The changing of the time And maybe it's not too late To change my mind Because now I don't know Now I don't know Reinvent myself, Didn't care about no one else You're not touching me Just wanna rock the crowd And live my life out loud, That's it for me Always wanted to have you around Now I wonder, Did I let you down? Because now I don't know Because now I don't know Did you get what you wanted? A little voice that says be careful what you wish for now Always whispering in my ear (Always whispering in my ear) These wishes may let somebody down (Always whispering in my ear) I always wanted to have you around Now you don't know Did you get what you wanted? Cause now you don't know Did you get what you wanted? Cause now I don't know Did you get get what you wanted? Cause I don't know
i like it. it would definitely be good on their fifth album. if not they could releaseall their unreleased songs on a compilation. i'd buy it. especially the alternate version of london.

I don't know (Did you get what you wanted) I don't know
Wholy shit! Can't believe I haven't heard this before. Definitely made an impression on me...kinda sad or something. 3eb gotta release all their demos and unreleased stuff!
I remember when the fifth album was supposed to be Ursa Minor but just an expansion off of Major but now two years later and we've got nothing haha. Thumbs up if you want a new 3eb album!
hahah.. i love that word troll.... yeah its me. i dunno youd have to ask those guys about studio recordings. but then hed have to share writing credit and probably wouldnt and then a big drag for me. but good for youse. providing the rerecording was done well. id be happy if 3eb fans were happy. :)
@007una if this is indeed you, arion, i have to say this is one of my fave unreleased 3eb tunes. man you guys could have made many more great albums. oh well, here is to xeb!
No man it's probably too late.., or hell, I don't know. .I love Third Eye Blind I love the songs that you guys right I really wish you would have kept I prefer Tony of the guitarist but Kevin was amazing on the first two albums but I really love out of vein I love all your stuff I wasn't a fan of dopamine but we are drugs that's really good to love you dearly not queerly and even if it was clearly who cares right sorry it's not but love you guys love love love is all I'm trying to spread
I dont think this will ever see an official release. Its all about money unfortunately. If youre talking about the alternate version of london that i think youre talking about, thats actually a cover by a band called ekoflo.
ursa minor was to be made up of cuts and b-sides and tracks and demo's that didnt make ursa major or any other album, jenkins said in an interview that the album will not be named ursa minor and consist of all new songs. honestly i'd rather have allllll the content i named in one big 30 song album!!!! LIKE IF YOU AGREE!
In my opinion, 3eb is the best alternative band. (Next to Smashing Pumpkins) 3eb is so diverse. Idk, maybe it's just cause the lyrics speak to my soul, but, they ring true. a lot of what Stephen talks about, i can either relate, or i feel pain. There is my soulfull rant for the evening.
theyknowme111 my friend that's the purpose of Music buddy go with it love it laugh cry punch nothing relate don't relate just love it or hate it it's all there for the taking thank God for music
@kstavin410 message me ill send u link...sj never meant for this to leak and was pretty stoked it wasnt made public or on youtube bc its still in contention for minor..guess not anymore lol
What's everyone's hang up with Kevin Cadogen? Yeah he was talented but Stephan Jenkins is was and always will be Third Eye Blind...he's a genius, this is my favorite unreleased song btw
Stephan Jenkins is basically Third Eye Blind because he kicks everyone else out of the band over and over. Only the drummer has survived (great drummer, btw), but there were two drummers before him. Jenkins is a very talented songwriter obviously, but it's the debut album that people love the most and Cadogen co-wrote 10 of the songs on there (Losing a Whole Year, Graduate, How's It Going to Be, The Background, God of Wine, etc.) and those songs have big memorable guitar riffs that he created. People just loved that sound he helped create (which was also a big part of "Blue" as well).
these guys could make a double album with nothing but demos and it would be one of the greatest rock albums ever, the lyrics and melodies are so amazing, insightful, beautiful, why don't they release these songs? I don't understand it
That would most likely involve SJ having to dish out credits to past contributors. That's not really his style.
We really do need a proper collection of these bangers
I remember seeing this on a board of recorded songs during the making of "Out of the Vein"
+Alex Seelig you and me both. It was some board with the out of the vein theme if I remember correctly. Was an amazing place to grab alot of their underground/un-released songs.
+euno17 Yes! Heady days...
Still and over a decade later, I love this song.

This song is awesome. They played it in June 2010 when I saw them and said it was gonna be on their next album. Who knows with them, though.
If they do this song right it'll be on the radio. It should be released as a single this summer.
I hope they make their fifth album out of songs like this. Because this is back to their roots. Back to what they were on their first album but new at the same time. I love it!
I just now discovered this song and probably my favorite Third Eye Blind song of the moment
What the flip?! This song is flipping brilliant!!!!!!
Love the instrumentals, and the lyrics are good too. Great song! Been a fan for years now...
I agree. Let's get this stuff out there for us. I love this song!!!
Love this song.... 3eb needs to just release a cd of all there demo's and unreleased songs!
Lyrics:
I thought about it lately
The way you tried to save me
Wasn't much to me
I just wanted to have my fun
All of my damage done,
It wasn't much to me
Now I'm stuck inside
The changing of the time
And maybe it's not too late
To change my mind
Because now I don't know
Now I don't know
Reinvent myself,
Didn't care about no one else
You're not touching me
Just wanna rock the crowd
And live my life out loud,
That's it for me
Always wanted to have you around
Now I wonder,
Did I let you down?
Because now I don't know
Because now I don't know
Did you get what you wanted?
A little voice that says be careful what you wish for now
Always whispering in my ear
(Always whispering in my ear)
These wishes may let somebody down
(Always whispering in my ear)
I always wanted to have you around
Now you don't know
Did you get what you wanted?
Cause now you don't know
Did you get what you wanted?
Cause now I don't know
Did you get get what you wanted?
Cause I don't know

Little voice that says be careful
Once you fall down
Those wishes may...
lying down
I always wanted to have you around
And now you don't know

sselemaNrM ... loving mr. Jenkins
Lil Bit of a The Cure vibe
His lyrics are very thoughtful. If this is where the 5th album is going then I approve wholeheartedly.
Great tune.
OMG...my soul is melting into puddles. God I love third eye blind
I love you for this song........... britty and third eye blind...
something about his voice just captivates me...
Awwwww.. So sweet.. Something I hope SJ can capture again.
Wholy shit! Can't believe I haven't heard this before. Definitely made an impression on me...kinda sad or something. 3eb gotta release all their demos and unreleased stuff!
