Racechip did a box for new M5 and the dyno results and acceleration tests proves it works. 750bhp on the dyno and half a second quicker accelerating from 100-200kph.

it worked good, real more power, until the turbo dead.
Same for me. My 118d engine got engine issue with this cheap system.
Thats why i will not buy this chip.I saw professional mechanics saying that this chip destroy the turbo and not only.

For all the haters: I bought this chip and installed it 3 weeks ago on my F10 535d. Results on the dyno: without chip 308hp and 660Nm, with chip on stage 7 (max) 338hp and 740Nm. So, not as promised by Racechip (+49hp and +100Nm) but the chip does work quite well. According the test engineer the results were quite acceptable due to very high temperatures today (33 Celcius). During the runs the air intake temp went up dramatically reducing the results with about 8-12hp, so he told me he was pleasantly surprised by the results of this chip! The installation was easy, about 40 min as it was my first time doing this, but the connections are very delicate and one of them snapped, so be careful! Fuel saving is indeed also true, from 8.2 to 7.6 l/100km. I'm satisfied.

Be interested to have an update of any issues after you have had it fitted for 12 months or so

Which one did you get? The GTS Black? I though the it gives you at least 75hp? I am planning to get the GTS, but seems like the numbers are not reliable.

there have been many test showing that these tuning boxes dont do shit, even the expencive ones. Remap is the only proper way to go without harming the engine

Go for dyno to see the results from racechip, i paid 560€ for racechip(67hp extra), when i test to dyno iv got 12hp, (Car porsche panamera diesel)
I think that racechip is bs . if you want to get a proper power and torque increase get an individual ecu tune..

Hp doesn't mean anything gasresponse and torck mutch more important but a Porsche with a Racechip don't do it and pay for a good stage tuning
I got exactly the same car but with an AC Schnitzer Box that claims to produce 360 hp. Would be interesting to compare both of them 👍

I thought it was conected to the OBD port xD. So I thought the point was that it was easy to remove when needed to. Allthough it is easier to turn it off or change modes, while a normal tune is constantly going to be how it's tuned. And if for some reason you need to have it off, you would have to go to that tuner again. So this is easier in that case. However this is a standard tune for this specific car. But normally they have to do some testing to see how well the engine is etc. So normally every tune should be unique and not just a base one.

I drive a BMW X6 and have been looking for a quick and relatively easy option for some HP without spending a few grand on some shit. I'm not trying to get 200 hp. but after a few mods i'd like to get 80-100 HP or so.
Will an ECU tune or whatever void my warranty, leaving me to go for the racechip even if it's 'not as good'?
My question is, are theese things made to handle the extreme heat from the engine?

Eu instalei no meu carro, é um VW 200Tsi. Sou do Brasil, e comprei Racechip Gts com comando por App ficou muito bom, porem sempre da um erro e à luz EPC acende e corta parcialmente o pedal do acelerador. Alguém sabe explicar o que é isto?

can you give us a quick update? Are you guys happy with the tune? Had any issues?
Well , best review would be to chip and than remap ( take chip off ) the same car and gauge power/torque at dyno before / after.
In the states, this isn't bad. Most tuning shops charge a minimum of 600 bucks for a tune, and I can't remove it if warranty work is needed. Or I can purchase an ECU swapped tune from lap3, but thats 1k and the performance isn't that much better.
I had the Racechip on my KIA Sportage 1.7D for 4 years now. One of the best money items I spent in my life. It has paid off due to better fuel consumption. Easy to get on and off. Dealer cannot detect any interference with EMS during servicing the car and warranty is protected ( 7 years on KIA). I remove it before I take the car to KIA for service of course. I get 30 bhp more and it is certainly noticeable. I will buy it again ( or perhaps I can send it back to Race Chip and get the software modified when I change car)
If your car had suffered a failure of some kind, engine, injectors, turbo, gearbox etc the dealer would be able to tell you've had a tuning box fitted. All they'd have to do is get a readout from the ECU and they'd be able to tell that the sensor readings had been altered. Not as obvious as a proper tune, but not invisible.
@@BluePixelMotorcycling I had a failure recently with an engine sensor ( don't ask me what). There was no power to the engine at all. The car had to be towed to the garage. I cannot tell if the reason was the Racechip ( personally I doubt it). While waiting for the rescue service I removed the racechip/wiring. Garage kept the car for three days , they replaced the faulty part , no charge no questions asked. Racechip is back on

I installed one on my t5 4motion. When I started it the van turned into Optimus prime and I flew round the moon. Absolutely bang on for 300 quid.

Everyone says ecu remap is better, and maybe it is, IF done by a professional. But I had my 320 cdi remapped, and blew the gearbox twice. On a separate note, I have used 2 powerboxes on a Toyota avensis and Skoda Octavia (from kueberl tuning and chipexpress), and done 240 000 km total with them - NO ISSUES! And I know that the promised 185hp from 150 on mu Octavia was true, because I raced my brothers Octavia 184, and my car was slightly faster. So, there you go, just sharing my experience...
Chips are cool and all and I really want to gets this but before I do soo what’s the cons?? More engine wear if your bagging it right out? Even with a stock engine that’s bad but how much more worse with a chip allowing more boost n what not else to the engine

Naja, ob das jetzt ein Werbefilm war oder nicht, sei mal dahingestellt. Wenn er damit zufrieden ist, ist es doch okay.
Zu den andern: Die alten Racechips sollen wohl so ne Art "Regeler" gehabt haben, damit konnte man die Leistung verstellen. Manche scheitern daran schon,bzw. wissen nicht das es diese gibt/ gab.
Ich will den Racehip übrigens nicht schönreden. Das Ding hat bei der Gas annahme bspw. verzögerungen verursacht. Perfekt isser also nicht. Wer sich den Racechip holt, kann eig. auch direkt eine KFO machen. Besser für den Motor, und auch nicht viel teuerer.

Ja nicht einbauen Leute! Diese Chips haben sehr viele Motoren kaputt gemacht. Bin KFZ Mechatroniker ... wenn ihr mehr Leistung wollt , dann lasst euch beim Chiptuningprofi euer Motoren-steuergerät umprogrammieren..
I am wondering how the gearbox fairs with the extra torque as it’s rated at 700nm, the car standard is 640nm. So this would push the gearbox over the limit! Has this gone pop yet?
The engine will be fine, so they can warranty that without issue. The gearbox however, totally different story!

Absolutely true if the remap is done perfectly by professionals , you can also fuck up more important things by performing a bad ECU remap , than by just fooling and tricking some sensors in between tolerances like Racechip does(not so good I think)...
The good thing about Racechips is that they can easily be removed and reinstalled whenever you want.
Nowadays Chiptuning is just a different term for ECU Remapping, basically no one is gonna put a chip in there anymore, it's all remapping.

There are many car guys out there who want to get the last bit of performance out of their cars yet don't mind bunch of boxes on the bonnet?
Id say that for the price of the expensive models, yes! Get a propper software tune
But the two cheaper models are quite compelling at 129€ and (at least for my car) 249€ for the 2nd chip
It gives you a little bit mor torque and in my case 30hp more. So why not 🤷🏼♂️ and there are many videos of dyno runs that show that it is working

I got a custom remap (375bhp) for £280.
Ecu remap is better and healtier for the engine 310 and 650nm running on my 530d (258 stock)
Why is it healthier?
You could do this with the 535d:
1) install the silver m550d front kidney grill on it. It'd look way better on a carbon black BMW than a black grill.
2) get a proper ECU remap. This RaceChip crap will eventually destroy your engine and/or transmission.

i have nothing with these Race chip i rather get a proper tune instead of the plug and play. they up the power but i doubt its good for the engine would not risk it rather tune it by a good company saves you headache.

My 2007 Audi TT 2.0TFSI With the racechip installed is now at the shop trying to fix a check engine light, Ofcourse it is not certain that the racechip caused it, but I have now removed it and will not be re-installing it again. Id say its a cheap and easy way to get a few extra horsepower but yeah, sure most people wont have any issues :)
Why not a remap ?
I know this reply is a little late but remaping completely overwrites the engines computer, so you have to remap it to change it again. On the other hand, you can reverse the racechip by simply removing it, so you could easily take it out if you have to have an inspection done. While these are legal, you'll be required in most countries to get a seal of approval for the chip to have it considered road legal (so it meets pollution standards, etc.) and this can be quite a hassle so i personally would just remove it before an inspection which wouldnt be possible with a complete remap

Had it on my golf 7R , difference is negligible and was advertised for 373hp , returned it and went Stage 1 APR the same week. This time around I thought I never had any power gains with the RaceChip gts black box just a placebo.Don't fool yourself , Stage 1 ECU remap difference is HUGE compared to any box ..
If i can describe it with other words , wasn't able to pull away from another stock golf 7 r with more than half a car at any speeds.
