I'm from Phx and have made this drive many times. While the 179 itself always gets mentioned for obvious reasons, the I17 never seems to get any attention on sites and blogs about scenic drives. Glad you included it. I especially like the stretch between New River and Sunset Point rest stop. The Verde valley is awesome too.

the only prob is if theres a accident ya the whole stretch will be shut down for god knows how long ive sseen it 5miles long before recently headed up there but the southbound was jammed up real bad lol

The scenery is a bit boring a few minutes in the beginning of the video after you leave Phoenix. Then it gets better. I am pretty sure the scenery looks better in real life and this camera quality is not perfect enough. Great video though! AZ is my tertiary choice of where I want to live after college.

Sir It’s the camera. The Saguaro and the mountains just outside of PHX are still a beautiful thing to look at.
