I Would be concerned about the loss of strength from kiln drying. Musical instrument wood is air dried. It takes longer but does not compromise the strength. I would expect it to be the same un marine applications as well as aircraft applications
or build a plane from old bike frames . or timber ..two by four frame or ...some way simpler construction just crude wood and plyplates as wings , in a strong simple way l guess not glue then ,maybe just test strenght of timbers by weight test in middle see if cracks , .. would it work for a few flies at least , fun vid for youtube safer to remote control with man weight sandbag in seat. or old plane wings on old car drive till lifts no propeller.uj

Awesome video! Forget about buying from the hardware though. There is enough good wood flooring being thrown out in building renovation work.

EAA has all you need to know about different woods for aircraft.... glues also.
What about moisture content? Did you pre-dry your lumber before cutting and planning?
