I liked Shanna on 4, Falcon and Swan 5 and then rearranging the small army of one costs on 6 with maybe a back up Kazar.

In theory that's great. But is it necessary?
My best Swan deck is the one Bynx played on day 1: Swan, Okoye, Nakia, Crystal, Mysterio, Monkey, and six 1-cost cards. Boost your hands and increase your chances of drawing Swan before dumping EVERYTHING on turn 6. Works more often than you'd think!
Yeah this makes sense, Alex. I kinda was thinking, well, cost-reduction always wins in the end, but I couldn’t see how - was waiting for someone to show me the way. But if Thanos doesn’t need her, zoo can’t go tall enough, and Hit Monkey needs too many pieces in place to be dependable, I don’t see where she fits. A month of weekend missions with her is looking like a long month.
I wouldn’t be so sure. Took a bounce list with her to infinite. Honestly, she feels essential to bounce now. The key is running Iron Man and Hit Monkey. That way you have two different types of pop off cards on turn 6. Iron Man surprises so many people, and if you are low on board space can still go tall with demons, etc. I am loving the Swan!
It’s rough to see her not as good as we though but with her and skaar being decent but not overpowered it’s nice to see an array of cards in the battle pass
Been playing around with zoo for two seasons, trying to make something work, Valkyrie has been my undeniable MVP, she can clean up a lot of the verticality problems with zoo.
I've been loving my bounce move deck with it. Getting multiple forge, move/human torch, and hood hits is great and then dropping a final turn flourish of demons, and a giant torch while already having a bishop on the board is great and very fun.
Extremely inconsistent
@rezzytheskyguy definitely hasn't felt that way at all to me. Even on the occasions I don't get my bounce options I'm putting big points on the board.

When she was a 2/3, she was wacky in bounce because you could drop her on curve, and then drop all your value 1s and Beast them on curve AND get another Black Swan ready for whatever you draw after. Ofc Beast was 3/4 and would let Kitty stay free then, so that got messed with too. Oh well, was a fun 15+ ranks to get a head start on the season.
My initial bounce list had these one drops but I put in Hawkeye, who can get pretty big power, and Nico, who can do things like copy big hawkeyes/monkeys or at least help you draw. I think it's pretty solid, just not meta-shaping, which is fine

I've had a blast with Black Swan. I made a Bounce deck with her and Havok that is kicking ass for me. Obviously, Hit Monkey is the heavy hitter in there, but it's a deck you have to exercise a lot of patience with.
I am so glad I'm not the only one playing her with Havok! I'm still trying to nail down the perfect 12, but I'm having fun and (slowly) ranking up with it.
@@buddy318 I keep telling people Havok is wildly slept on. Definitely one of the hardest cards in the game to maneuver around, but the reward is massive for a 2-cost.
I have a bounce deck with Hit Monkey Havok but it does not need Black Swan. I had high hopes for Black Swan but with the nerf to Beast that bounce deck just sucks even though I don't want it to. Yes you can win matches, yes you can win conquest but it will be consistently under power against most matches.
@@JamestheXennial absolutely is. Wanna give credit to Jeff Hoogland for putting Havok with Bast. Playing a Bast'ed Havok on T5 ends up with him at 11 power, so as long as you can manage T6 with only 5 energy, it's pretty good.

the thing is you normally want to play your 1 drops on turn 1 and 2. With Black Swan, it encourages you to play them on the last few turns. But playing your 1 drops on turns 5 or 6 is so weak compared to playing other higher cost cards. The Black Swan effect is good but only if it was already active on turn 1 or 2.
I have a version that you may want to try the deck contains: Forge, Iceman, Nico, Yondu, Elsa Bloodstone, Falcon, Bishop, Hit Monkey, Beast, Kazar and Blue Marvel Ive had some success with the deck, had a little struggles here and there but overall I had a good performance with the deck. made it all the way to Plat with it so far.
I never even thought about using this card so not surprised. Supergiant on the hand has been surprising. Interesting moves being made there.
Oh I absolutely love black swan, I went like 40 ranks on day 1. I’ve had 3 losses bc the deck failed (maybe 10 due to getting excited and messing up play lines or not checking priority, dumb mistakes I don’t like to put on the deck) I think she may be the best card of the season.

Going up 40 ranks if the dude is low rank is still pretty good, my first couple of seasons I was pleased to get to 60

This is the card that makes my Hit Monkey deck more competitve and I really enjoy the power swing with it. It's one of my better decks now, early on in the ladder.
Fun play line, ramp up some one cost - Hawkeye -> Forge -> Nico -> Falcon. Turn 4 hit monkey + 1 cost. Turn 5 Swan + Beast on Monkey lane. Turn 6 -Mysterio, HitMonkey, another 2 cost card and a slew of 0 cost 1's. Printing 8 cubes, catching even destroy decks by suprise.
Try her in move/bounce, feels good to play fist/torch/ghost-spidey for free. Combo centric yes but but it’s a free 6 power if you have two of the three. Assuming you didn’t get to play them early and bounce ‘em back
I always just get the season pass cuz the value is so good and the variants are always fire the card is kinda just a bonus
For sure. How good the card actually is doesn’t make much difference on whether or not you should buy the pass, it’s still a “free” S5 card and you get so much extra currency and stuff. Definitely worth the money every time!

To me there is an important note; sometimes a deck is good, it missing 1/2 cards that connect the two packages, so finding a deck like the anihulus one, where it’s decent but not the side carrying, is actually still strong. Those are my brews I have the most fun with where the two packages and be intermingled and played a variety of ways
Definitely a tough card to evaluate. I managed to get to Infinite with a Black Swan / Supergiant deck, where my 1-drops were Nico, Nebula and the Stones from Thanos. The idea was to play Swan turn 3 and Supergiant with Stones on turn 4 to hold initiative and drop Alioth where necessary, giving myself some room to play counters (Shang, Rogue, Echo) or the BBEG himself.
It wasn't a bad deck but it wasn't great either. I often found myself playing Swan and then only playing Stones next turn because I didn't draw what I wanted, making her a bit unnecessary sometimes.
I do believe Black Swan is very draw-dependent and many times it is just a helping tool rather than a big play.

The deck I've been running is very successful the last 48 hours and VERY close to you annihulus deck. Take out forge and Nico, replace with beast and Selene.

I know it sounds crazy, but what about Electra as one of the drops? quite a few decks use important one drops to kill late (sunspot or nebula). And it would be useful early game for black knight decks.
Honestly...the Death variant makes the season pass worth it this month more than the new card, but I also always get the season pass because of the value overall. I mean a new card, gold, several variants, credits, and card backs. I will say, they missed an opportunity on the infinite card back....we could have had the golden infinite gauntlet card back, that would have been such a flex lol. The gold skull does look cool. We will see if I can get it this season..

Big Deadpool Destroy fan here, I’ve been trying to cook up a viable Black Swan Deadpool deck and it’s not the worst, it’s just classic destroy package with Arnim Zola and no Knull, you’re relying on cheating out Deadpool/x23/nico/forge with your Black Swan and you’re relying on Venom into Arnim Zola combo. Probably not the best but I like the direction it’s going in
Beast Swan and Monkey deck has been slaying for me
hit monkey style decks are my favorite in the game but it feels like every time they start to gain any sort of ground they get nerfed into the ground again. elsa is still lamenting in limbo and a bunch of locations hold the play style back already as is.
I’m a Thanos Zoo OR Thanos Destroy type deck player. I watch these videos REPEATEDLY to keep the decks that I HAVE FUN WITH somewhat competitive against the “META” I’m here for a good time and a long time. Thank you for making these comprehensive breakdowns ENTERTAINING my guy.
I think a lot of the complainers around this card didn't really think about it in practice, which is understandable. It's a powerful mana-cheat effect but only if you run a bunch of 1-drops. I think it's just gonna be a card for Midrange Thanos and Mini-Move. I do like the Annihilus synergy though, I hadn't considered that one. I think she's got really huge potential with Moon Girl and Werewolf By Night, but the curve currently just doesn't work out. We need a really good On Reveal 1-Drop or a 3rd win condition to round out the Hitmonkey/WWBN package they seem to be trying to promote.
try destroyer deck. im running one with ebony maw and titania but i feel im a card short to make it pefect. its winning righy now
When we have a Black Order card more, or 2, a Thanos deck could be interesting to test: Super Giant, Black Swan, another Black Order member or 2, Thanos. A theme deck. I believe that the issue is that we try to push the new card into shells that we are used to 🤷♂️ Could probably be a little time before Black Swan gets to where she is a prioritized card in a deck.
I actually think legitimately you need to be running at least 6 1 drops to make her viable. I’ve had a ton of fun and success with a list that runs the 1 cost move package (Ghost Spider, Iron Fist, Torch) + Nico and Forge (for more buffs/move synergy) and splashing in Titania.
The rest of the deck is just solid zoo cards (Ka-Zar, Blarvel) a couple tech choices (Shang Chi and Jeff have been good), Bishop, and finally, Hit Monkey.
It’s been working very well and consistently. If I don’t draw Swan and/or Hit Monkey by turn 3 I slam down a few one drops, then curve out with my Ka-Zar and Blarvel. And then sometimes by that point a turn 6 Bishop and two more 1 drops seals the deal. I was surprised by the consistency. The move package is so underrated.
I'm enjoying her in a classic zoo decks. With that said I feel like she's better as a 2/3 over 3/5.
A sub par season pass card is always a bummer, but it's still a fair deal for the price and hey, maybe she'll get buffed.
Black Swan unlocks my favorite thing…Sunspot in Zoo decks
Here's my combo centric idea. Falcon, Collector, Grand Master, Black Swan, Hit Monkey, Maybe Beast because of Grandmaster then add one cost cards. Grand Master should help hit monkey and collector and it would probably require some high level thinking
Is the Anni deck better if you swap Swan out for new Beast? I think it might be.
what if you start bouncing things other than 1-costs? Maybe Ironheart and Grandmaster. Beast the Middle location after Granmaster. Hmm. IDK I think I'll try that when I get the pass.
Bast instead of ham. Add Sentry or Nico? Just my thoughts on Thanos Hit Monkey. I guess it's nerfed for Thanos now though
I don’t have martyr, but I think C5 could be fun. Can play ghost, supergiant, this, gives you lots of options to keep Titania and martyr where you want them

Shes been great to pair with Supergiant to try and grab priority with some 1 costs. Shes also great in any Thanos deck.
Turn 3 skipping stones to play a 3/5 to then drop free stones felt pretty good.
I've won so many games with a 20 power Thanos, even copied him and played him on a lane I got hobbed and beat Galactus. Felt great

@@MasterKynar and I haven’t met a Thanos deck I’ve lost to yet. Even the good Thanos/lockjaw deck. Just storm them, or if I have a supergiant/alioth or doom combo just flood them with stats or erase everything they play. So far (prolly just luck) but the abs man bug hasn’t effected me yet.

The other thing to consider is the players that are not above rank 80 and have high collection lvls this card could work from them but unfortunately as everyone is above rank 80 all you will get is the meta so unless you are playing a meta relavent deck cards like this will seem to suffer

From my point of view, I really liked Black Swan, my only difficulty was controlling where Werewolf ends up.
Was playing discard hela and high evo and wrecked every deck with her. Even a 3/5 she just doesn’t scale high enough with the competitive decks

I love these type of season pass cards because people try so hard to make them work and I just farm cubes playing stuff that I already know works😅

Just reached infinite with a Black Swan bounce deck. The thing you're missing is that you don't cut Beast, like EVER. You're also using all the 1 drops that don't scale and give you extremely low value on replay. You're also not including enough payoffs and power cards: not just Hit Monkey, but also Bishop, Dazzler and scaling one drops such as Hawkeye. You don't need to always beat 40 power plays; if you stay into a destroy pop off, or a Living Tribunal pop off, that's kind of your fault. That said, I consistently put 20-25 power across multiple lanes, which for the average game is more than enough. Supergiant is a bit tricky to play around, but you can manage. You're also completely fine with playing Black Swan on 3 into a bunch of 1s on 4 + a Beast or a Falcon. She accelerates your plays, she's NOT always a combo card

I think actually can only be perfect in Thanos deck, now you dont need to hurry playing stones trying to draw fast and dont lose so many energy meanwhile your good play is comming. Just Mind Stone for draw stones and wait Black Swan if posible.

Black Swan in a vacuum is a really good card, has a decent statline and accomplishes exactly what she's intended for as an engine for the zoo archetype.
The problem is that she's a victim to the fact that "fill the board with 1-drops and buff 'em up" strats right now fall short to "unga bunga win with single big card" strats. Even the best Thanos decks right now, which should be her home, are more focused on cheating big cards than filling the board with stones. And Swan was also probably designed around Firestar (6/4 every card you played last turn gains +3) as a proper zoo-finisher but that card got scrapped.
So basically, Black Swan requieres a deck that invests heavily into 1-drops, and the only one that actually performs in the current meta is the bounce deck archetype, which doesn't really need her to enable their win-condition (generate a bunch of Demons and making Hitmonkey/Werewolf big).

Second dinner is very protective over their season pass cards? Maybe I misunderstanding what you're saying but they've literally nerfed a majority of them. I believe at this point they overtune the season pass cards to get the people to buy them and then a couple weeks or a month down the road. They nerf them after everybody has bought in. I didn't buy last month season pass for the very first time and I'm not buying this month season pass either.
Honestly, I think Black Swan is better off as a 2/4 than a 3/5. In my experience she is situational and the 3 cost makes it feel just a touch more than you want to use to play her. For example; In Bounce, if Black Swan was a 2 cost, you could play her and Bishop Turn 5, and flood the board Turn 6. Of course Allioth would present a bit of an issue, but that's just the risk you take with bounce anyway.
What I don’t like about Black Swan is she only affects the cards in your hand and not the cards in your deck. I thought she would of had synergy with Jane Foster.

It's cause they nerfed her to be a 3 cost which they said was buff clearly not knowing what buffs are. She would be much better as a cheaper card. 2 cost for her is just better, then if she was 1 cost I think she would be busted you could even get a copy of her and redo it again in that case. Which is honestly the fun way to have her.

I honestly wonder how you could change Black Swan to make it a playable meta card without adjusting the effect entirely. Making the cost discount an ongoing instead is probably way too strong and goes against their current design philosophy, but at least the card would be exciting to play with.
It will get buffed for sure it’s two awkward or some 1 cost card will come out that will make it busted

they Should have made swan reduced 1cost cards to 0 cost next turn, +1 power for each 1 cost cards played.
Ebony Maw's ongoing should also be changed like after turn 3, the card costs 3.
It really sucks beast got hit the same week this card was released it brought back old school Serra hit monkey bounce decks. A time I found to be some of the most fun in marvel snap but instead it’s just a card to help werewolf
I think it speaks volumes that almost every Snap content creator had videos and deck lists about Supergiant before Black Swan.
This is the first time where I didn’t immediately by a battle pass on day 1.
I think you guys get a little blinded by cost reduction before considering where it is useful. Example - Release Ravonna.
I'm so annoyed they nerfed Beast right after I bought the season pass. The one single day I got to play them together, it worked beautifully.

Generally speaking, Nico is an irreplaceable card in any deck it is in. There is no other card in the game that does its effect

I faced black swan once on my journey towards infinite, and that time I played mobius in my darkhawk deck so the opponent retreated lol. I think she sucks honestly, she will be buffed mid season :P

Black swan has felt pretty good at being greedy with silver surfer, easy way to throw in a nova you didn’t want destroyed too soon or a forge same turn as sera
The Beast nerf hurt this cards potential. I tried to play Black Swan for like 3 days and she just fell flat. I agree, she needs some time, and good 1 drops
First Skaar and now Black Swan. I personally think that the devs are going into a habit of "People are going to buy the season pass anyway cause the rest of the deals suck so we don't have to put effort into season pass cards anymore"
