Beautiful razors. Thanks for the masterfully told history lesson of sharpness and quality.

I agree a very good grind on a factory razor is beautiful, and not as common as most would think. I have had limited exposure to Thiers, but one vintage brand that impresses me time and again is Henckles, their grinds are a thing of beauty.

Nice video Matt. I have a Thiers-Issard Spartacus and it gives me a great shave. The quality of my razor is excellent. Take care.

I got my first straight razor from The Art of Shaving, and it's a Thiers-Issard. Since then, I've expanded my product exploration, but TI is the only razor brand I've bought. My newest TI came from you at Christmas, and I still love this brand.

I have TI singing eagle razor exactly like the one you have pictured for sale. Beautiful razor the sharpens easily with no problems and give a superior shave. The nice thing is I got mine from Ebay for a fraction of the price and looked like it was never used with a leather case. But then this was years ago before straight razors were fashionable. 😊

Out of the razors that I currently have I always find myself going back to the TI Grelot as it seems to give the smoothest and most effortless shave.

You look so different without the goatee, Matt. I'm still trying to get use to it even after watching several videos. Lol!
I own several TI straight razors.
Two Le Grelot, both 6/8 with half hollow grinds. A couple 7/8 and several more 6/8. They are full hollow and extra full hollow grinds. They have various point styles and some have ornate spine work. Overall, the grind and hone work is typically excellent. My biggest gripe with TI compared to other brands I own... warped spines. However, this doesn't seem to be nearly as much of an issue with more current production models.
TI are a favorite of mine. But I place Boker and Ralf Aust above TI in regards to the factory edge. Otherwise, I think TI is a leader in the scale options and decorativd blades.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy another TI myself. I'm a big fan of their C135 steel.

I have several Dovo's, and some old, rather decrepit blades I used for learning...but these are beautiful blades, and I'll bet they're beautiful shavers.

I own a couple Ertrans and a Dovo and some vintage blades. I don't own a TI or Gelot...yet, but I've honed quite a few. 😊

Hello Matt. TI was actually the first SR I owned, a Gregor. I have picked up another since then.

Hi Matt, I have a collection of straight razors and most of them are DOVO's but I also have a Holy Black, a Portland Razor Company and one Thiers-Issard Sheffield Silver Steel. The tang says Thiers-Issard Made in France but the scales are rounded and not angled. Did TI ever make rounded end scales? I'm curious. My collection sits in a nice lacquered TI case. Great review.

Still scared of these. I use French Atelier no7. 1.5 for my heaviest growth. One pass is all it needs.
