I guess Rats was the one responsible for the previous records sound and riffs being so filthy, raw and menacing. This just sounds like typical run of the mill black with only slightly raw production. Sorry Herve, it is what it is. I really liked Shotgun Prayers. I have the limited edition white vinyl.

Do you listen sound or music? I can't listen any single track from Morguiliath, because it's very boring. Except song "Black Legend" album "Shotgun Prayers" is also ws boring a bit, demo was better.

@finvarg2 both. Music and sound play off of each other. If you produce your record in such a way as to generate feelings of sorrow or war or whatever it adds to the riffs. In the case of Shotgun Prayers, I would say that the very harsh and muddled production gave the riffs an extra bit of dirt on them. I can see what you are saying in terms of boring but it is the mood that you are in that will make it more lasting.
