The Most AMAZING Road Trip In The UK! - Motorcycle Camping The North Coast 500 - Part 1

- Solo Touring the famous NC500 route in the Scottish Highlands on my Triumph Bonneville T100 in 2022, Provably the best motorbike ride in Britain.. Probably the best road trip in Britain. The trip took 4 days to complete excluding a day either side to get to and from the start/finish of Inverness.
This video follows day 1 and 2 of the trip, from Inverness, up the east coast to John o' Groats for the first night and then across to Durness, stopping off at Dunrobin Castle, Cairn o’ Get, John o’ Groats signpost, Duncansby Stacks, Dunnet Head and Smoo Cave. Then landscape starts off pretty flat but gets more and more dramatic as the journey goes on. I wanted to complete this trip on a budget so decided moto camping was the way to go.
The campsites used in this video are Bunchrew Caravan Park & John o' Groats Campsite. Both sites where well equipped and maintained and very well priced for tent camping, see links below:

One thing that amazed me on my tour of Scotland was the amount of Dutch people there. :)
That did surprise me too, folk from all over Europe up that neck of the woods.
Great vid bud. Cracking shots of you and the bike at the signposts! Beautiful bike,

Thought I'd clicked on my own NC500 video for a second there 😁. Good to see another Bonnie being used properly, keep up the good work dude 👍🏻
Mate, your NC500 videos and your channel in general is one that inspired me to start making videos and my own channel. What an honour to have you watch and comment 😁. She’s not quite as clean as yours but I doubt many are compared to your immaculate machine. Thank you very much Matt, same to you mate, I’ll keep my eyes peeled for your latest 👍🏻.
@@GLoveMoto That's quite the compliment, thanks!
No problem mate 👍🏻.
Great shots.
Thank you! 👍🏻
Great video well edited Well done
Thank you kindly. Glad you liked it 😀.
As you were riding up the hill at Berriedale Braes viewpoint on the A9, I could still see the tram lines in the grass where our van got stuck in the mud and had to be towed backwards onto the road by a rescue truck. We had come around the bend at the bottom and our portable toilet rolled over onto it's side, so in a blind panic, i stopped at the side of the road in an emergency, thinking that there would be sewage all over the inside of the van. There wasn't and I put the toilet vertical and bungeed it safe but the damage was done, we were stuck in the soft earth up to the suspension brackets because of the reconstituted ground on a very wet day. It cost me £120. Won't make that mistake again !
Oh no mate, sounds like a bit of a disaster.. could have been much worse if the toilet relieved itself all over the inside of the van mind. At least you got a decent story out of it though 😂. I’m going to have a watch back and look out for them tram lines now. Thanks for the comment Steve, much appreciated 👍🏻
Sick drone footage!
Glad you liked it!
Lovely watching your video nc500 on my list roads look amazing hopefully one day take my bike up there to 😀
Thanks Carolyn 😊. Get it ticked off the list. It’s a cracking trip, unreal scenery, everyone is lovely. I’m looking forward to doing it again the other way round.
@@GLoveMoto I love too those views looked amazing 😍 im on a 250 atm may I
Hit them roads next year 🏍
They really are, keeping eyes on the road can be a struggle at times 😂. Very nice 😊, more than enough power for those roads. Would you go camping too? Yes, make it happen 👍🏻
I say I would be stopping all the time to take in the view's , camping yeah why not
Awesome trip. Love to do it one day. Long way on a 125 though. 🤪😁
Thank you mate, It was unreal. A must for bikers. I did see a good few 125s on the route, in fairness most of the roads are narrow and windy so I think you’d spot on 😁👍🏻
Gavin good to meet you today. Just watched your first vlog and it’s brilliant! Look forward to the rest, keep up the great work and maybe see you out on the road soon for a bacon butty or a pie run?
All the best cheers!
Thanks a lot Gary, I appreciate you taking the time to watch it, part 2 & 3 of the Scotland trip are already on the channel. Got a few other videos in the works too. You too, as soon as I saw the Triumph t-shirt I knew we’d get on 😁. Absolutely, sounds like a plan 👍🏻 thanks again.
Have another classic bike arriving next week. A Moto Guzzi V7 Special, Italian Bonnie as they call it, perfect for pie and cake trundles around the Lakes and North York’s!
😍 Beautiful bikes the V7. I must say I’m rather jealous. If you’re ever passing by during work hours you’ll have to pop in so I can drool over it 😂.
Won’t be able to ride it mind, only had a knee replacement 6 weeks ago, knee still won’t bend enough.
Rode our Royal Enfield 350 Meteor Yesterday, but thats a feet forward position so it was fine a short distance. Roll on when I can bend my knee lots more, be no stopping me then, I’m a stubborn git and I’m working so hard at it!! I will ride my Tiger and new toy within the next 3 weeks, and worst case, who needs a rear brake 🤣, soon as I can ride it, I’ll bend into to Lloyds and show ya! All the best cheers
Go on the loving well done esquire
Cheers mush. Second half coming soon
It makes me do moto vlogs in Europe.
I’ve got plans to tour Europe too. I want to ride to Monaco for the Formula 1 one season. 🇲🇨🏎
@@GLoveMoto Very good idea
