It might be a good idea for miami to donate their old crown vic police cars to sweetwater police department. But its still cost the sweetwater police department money to have the police cars repainted and have the lettering changed from miami police to sweetwater police department.
Too many towns don't lease. They blow most of their budget by buying all new vehicles brand new. My hometown changed and leased it's helped open funds to put infrastructure first without endangering public safety

I bet it costs them no more then $500 a car to have the old graphics peeled off and new ones that represent the police department fitted
$2000 a car repaint plus $100 new graphics and they still have a POS 7 yr old worn out undersize, underpowered Taurus.
$2100 for a car that could last them 5 more years isn't a bad deal $420 a year is cheaper than the payment on a new car.
