Soil Health Stewards: Take your Soil to the Doctor: Soil Health Assessment

This webinar is part of American Farmland Trust’s Soil Health Stewards Virtual Training held for entities in Alaska, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Montana, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming on April 16, 17, 18 & 19, 2024. This session offers participants a chance to dig into in-field assessment and laboratory assessment approaches that can be used to find out if soils are healthy, and if not - what’s wrong. Participants learn about how an assessment is conducted (including some differences with NRCS Soil Health Assessment for grazing versus cropping systems) when it might be used, and how it might help with supporting farmer decisions on management changes.
