Do I understand correctly that by taking an elemental bow most of our damage is not chaos and hence does not benefit from withered. 2. If above is true, is it correct to skip Nature's Reprisal now? I see you are still using it, maybe I am missing something. 3. If above is true, is it worth it to use tinctures as a pathfinder? We get more damage from our bow, but lose a flask slot and withered?
Wither is inc chaos dmg taken. Poison is chaos dmg. Using an elemental bow to deal poison dmg does still benefit from the wither "increased chaos dmg taken". Of course your elemental hit damage does not benefit from wither, but neither does hit physical damage.
your poison is always chaos damage. the hit elemental damage will not be buff by Withered, but the poison obtain from elemental damage will benefit of it.
Because of the "all damage can poison", will could do this build with any bow skill. As exemple, we could try to replace Scourge Arrow of Menace, by Lightning Arrow, or Tornado Shot, or one of the "native balsta skill" like Siege Ballista (and free 1 support gem)...
"All damage can poison" doesn't mean all damage poisons. It means that besides phys and chaos, all ele dmg can also poison. You still need the chance to poison. 40% of that comes from the gems, so you'd still need to invest in those somewhere.
If you go scourge arrow i recommend the celestial mtx as then you can roleplay as the least subtle member of the Illuminati ever, constantly spamming hundreds of symbols over the map
I am using a Icefang Orbit ring. It has some nice poison mods, 25% chance to poison on hit, 59% incr damage with poison. Take a look. It may be OP for SA of Menace leveling

I got TR of sporeburst and almost max roll dendrobate, so that's what I've been playing. I also got a timeclasp, wondering if that would be a good choice... I'm pretty sure you don't get a dot anymore, and you want the spores to open faster but it's hard to tell
How would you compare this to just regular tornado shot? You fire an arrow and it explodes into more arrows, but with tornado shot you don't get the 50% less damage secondary arrows, and their damage scaling is around the same ~120%. Scourge arrow does give a bit of flat chaos. All in all regular tornado shot seems a bit ahead?

hey Palestron, not sure if you are aware of this but there is an insane tech for builds using Wilma's. Basically you anoint spiritual command on your amulet and then on your bow you craft or unveil the "minions have X attack speed/cast speed" suffix. This will give a whopping 76% global attack speed (with perfect rolls) and the bow can still have a local attack speed suffix. Better than the 28% dot multi suffix imho
Are you sure this works? Please let me know the math behind it. Tried doing the calculations in PoB, does not seem like the minion cast speed has any affect at all. Since spiritual command does not grant you the minion cast speed craft on the bow craft. Jus the minion attackspeed. So it would be +8% attack speed from spiritual command annoint. 28% from the bow itself, and lets say T1 19% AS flat on the bow. Where's my math wrong?
have you thought about using the empty flask ascendancy to scale the tincture? My DPS is happy. Im scaling poison non poisoned enemy increased damage. Right now im almost 800%+

Caustic arrow of poison fell off hard in maps for me, so I swapped to Explosive Arrow. The poison prolif is disgusting with those big hits. Here's hoping Tinctures stay in the game in some form.
@@spaghetthands7043 It's still kind of mid tbh, but it's not getting stuck at least. I haven't played in years though and totems aren't really my thing. Just buy a Quill Rain and a decently leveled EA if you want to try it. The only builds you'll find are Elementalist Ignite ones. The biggest mechanical difference to the Ignite version is that Barrage support is actually viable.
@@spaghetthands7043 Yeah, totems targeting the closest enemy is horrible for clearing. Looks like a good bosskiller, but I'd rather do Shrapnel with Sniper's Mark and Return shenanigans for endgame.
I played this today and found that the 300% increased damage poison mastery helped me break into yellow maps with bad gear, even if on pob it doesn't make sense to invest into clear. Also we should take the dirty techniques cluster with the duration mastery. Another thing I noticed is that we're probably over-investing into chance to poison, so I'll test swapping deadly ailments with chance to poison and clean the tree to see how many points we could save.
If you deal one hit with cold and lightning damage it will poison the enemy two times, one for the cold damage and one for the lightning damage, or one time with for the total damage of the hit?
To people wanting to flip the qual of support gems. Be careful about the content you do after flipping the ballista totem support. The totems are so squishy for a while.
So if all damage can poison requires 100% chance to poison because causing poison is not innate to the damage type, for the all damage can shock/chill/ignite do i only need to crit to trigger that effect? Or would i also need to get 100% chance to inflict the elemental ailment
i just made the swap to a (730) dps bow with the tincture and it doesnt feel any different than my bow with nothing but 20% bonus poison damage on it, is this normal (4 link caustic arrow)? magic packs pretty annoying in just yellow maps, >100% chance to poison.

Not rly, it's kind of a feel thing. One is really good at singletarget and "ok" at clearing and one is "ok" at singletarget and insane at clearing. I'd honestly keep both in your arsenal, but the new vid coming out soon might give you a little bit more of a feel for it!
The defensive component of this build is much the same, you can slap a coil/taste of hate, etc on this build as well, it's just currently early enough that a 6L coil is probably the next goal
Caustic arrow felt great in the story and likely wouldn't be so bad far into maps if you could get some pierce but unlike normal caustic arrow that doesn't seem to work at all. Even with 3 pierce they still just explode on the thing they were shot at. Also wish we could go for the charm one because giving up a flask as a pathfinder feels pretty bad. I don't even think Nature's Concoction will even do anything for us unless you remember to frenzy every 1-4 seconds and I'm for sure not giving up more flask for intensifying suffusion, Barkskin doesn't seem to strong for 25% mana reserve that also can't be linked to enlighten. So really just leaves getting small points and detect evil for the radar I guess. I guess when you have 20-40 div to speed on a weapon you could likely essence spam with flat phys for high % phys then aug/reforge for t1 flat chaos damage and then stop using a tincture but that will take some time.

How do you get the 3rd magi ascendancy, i got the 4k wisps there is no quest showing for the next one. Ive hust been continuing to collect yellow when i can but not seeing any update etc
@@mitchellsmith2674 if you'r too low level when you finish the 4k wisps quest, you won't get the next quest (happened to me. I don't know the level requirement as it took me ages until I saw the master again)

it is a spell, so would be totem instead of ballista. i don't know if the totem work with minion skill. if it work, it will be an hell to find what interactions work and what doesn't, to scale the damages.
I have a question. Poison dmg is chaos DoT dmg based on Initial physical or chaos hit damage. If you use "all damage can poison" tincture, will it make all "elemental" hit dmg to scale this "poison" chaos DoT dmg? Or does it simply mean, elemental dmg can proc poison but won't scale it as it is not physical/chaos dmg?

@@MagikWithMikeTR is also fine in campaign. If you get the CA of poison or scourge arrow of menace from lab or can afford to buy it, I would swap most definitely. If you’re a poison TR setup, shouldn’t be much different, priority is extra projectiles on passives though.
There are a bunch of self attack poison scourge arrow builds, most of them will still use a ballista for Withering Touch but should be ez to find a poison scourge build that focuses on the attack

yes. But the base (average) damage of the explosion are 653 at skill lv20 (985 at lv 24, 1474 at lv28) ; then, 50% of the bow damage are added to this base. (then this base is multiply depending of the number of arrow on the ennemy) so most of the time, with this gem, we only rely on the base damage of the gem, and try to scale it with gem level. a bow will 650 damage per arrow will only add 300 base explosion damage compare to one with 50 damage per arrow.

For how to enchant flasks: you need 5 Instilling Orbs and 5 Glassblower's Baubles. The crafting recipe is in Karui Shores once you kill act 10 kitava, so don't worry about it until you're done the campaign. You can convert Enkindling Orbs to Instilling Orbs by vendoring 2 Enkindling Orbs, any trigger gem (I prefer reckoning, it costs 1 wisdom scroll) and an alch. Other misc flask notes: Choice of enchant is up to you, mostly "use when charges reach full" or "reused at end of effect". Reused at end of effect is technically slightly better, since if you don't have 100% uptime you'll have the flask for ~2 mins straight, rather than having intermittent downtime throughout, and you can probably finish whatever you're doing in that 2 minutes. You do need to tap your flasks at the beginning of every map though, so I prefer "use when full" For mods blue flasks: For prefixes, I'd go for "Increased duration", "Increased charge recovery", or "Reduced charges per use". The hybrid mods that give these while also reducing flask effect aren't that great. For suffixes, I ideally you want "Inc evasion rating during effect" and "additional Elemental Resistances during Effect" specifically. This basically caps your resistances and gives you a huge defensive benefit. Beyond that, "Reduced effect of curses during effect", "Reduced effect of shock during effect", "Movement speed during effect", are all good options, pick whichever one you think is the most useful to you "Chance to avoid being stunned during flask effect" is nice as well, between one of those mods, Heart of Oak on the passive tree, and the Perfectionist wheel you can become stun immune, which is nice Also, because this tripped me up at the beginning: you don't need "inc evasion during flask effect" on the evasion flask specifically (in fact if you're buying these on trade, that specific combination is probably more expensive!) So long as you have the suffixes you want somewhere on your set of flasks, it doesn't matter which one has which.
The skill itself is pretty damn good for ultimatum. The hard part is surviving, it's super early league so the build isn't very tanky yet. It's by no means squishy but Ulti gets pretty rough in red maps.
No league starter is good for ultimatum, however, PF can become fairly tanky later on with optimal flask setups and gear, which should be able to do it no problem.
Yea i use a 700dps bow with 1.65 attack speed I go back to CA my RTX 2060 and rayzen 2600x cant Handel this skill So i get covenant and going to play it
This is the first time I haven’t enjoyed your build or found it to be well-rounded; it seems like a work in progress and far from a league starter. I’ve never been so vulnerable, and the single-target performance is not good.
@@chaiper Scourge arrow has far less damage than Poison arrow. It compensate by hiting a mush biger area, but is a bit weak on single target without strong stuff.
Sir did you know those "claw nodes" have global chance to poison with any attack, not just claws :) Thats why he is using them(as well as global dot multi node), he explains it in the video.

The poison still does chaos damage, withered is just as good as on any other poison build
Wither is inc chaos dmg taken. Poison is chaos dmg. Using an elemental bow to deal poison dmg does still benefit from the wither "increased chaos dmg taken". Of course your elemental hit damage does not benefit from wither, but neither does hit physical damage.

He’s just using Vaal Haste, which you don’t need to reserve. For bossing you could swap off Grace, and use Haste or Malevolence.

Yes , make sure u got 55+ proj speed. The the pod arrows did ricochet im pretty sure .
Looking at it, I feel an urge to stack flat ele dmg with it, it just looks like it could be fun.

Im playing menace with ele dmg deadeye setup and returning proj , god tier clear speed and meh single target .
would chance to poison/poison damage mod be worth getting for your bow or is it not worth the mod slot?
It’s very good, saves passives (fairly certain it also applies to ballistas) The high flat damage is more of a priority though

it is a spell, so would be totem instead of ballista. i don't know if the totem work with minion skill.
if it work, it will be an hell to find what interactions work and what doesn't, to scale the damages.

I have a question. Poison dmg is chaos DoT dmg based on Initial physical or chaos hit damage. If you use "all damage can poison" tincture, will it make all "elemental" hit dmg to scale this "poison" chaos DoT dmg? Or does it simply mean, elemental dmg can proc poison but won't scale it as it is not physical/chaos dmg?

@@MagikWithMikeTR is also fine in campaign. If you get the CA of poison or scourge arrow of menace from lab or can afford to buy it, I would swap most definitely. If you’re a poison TR setup, shouldn’t be much different, priority is extra projectiles on passives though.
@@MagikWithMikeyou also would want to do league mechanic to get the all damage can poison tincture, which you’d need to spec into the tinctures.

There are a bunch of self attack poison scourge arrow builds, most of them will still use a ballista for Withering Touch but should be ez to find a poison scourge build that focuses on the attack

@@lvh5981can just do manaforged blast rain with withering touch, don’t need totem setup. 95% use totems though, so not many self attacking

yes.
But the base (average) damage of the explosion are 653 at skill lv20 (985 at lv 24, 1474 at lv28) ; then, 50% of the bow damage are added to this base. (then this base is multiply depending of the number of arrow on the ennemy)
so most of the time, with this gem, we only rely on the base damage of the gem, and try to scale it with gem level.
a bow will 650 damage per arrow will only add 300 base explosion damage compare to one with 50 damage per arrow.

the tincture says all damage can poison so we stack all damage.
The idea is that with the tinctures ele damage can now poison. This makes it so we can just stack loads of flat ele
It just stacks all types of damage it can get, as everything can count for poison with the tincture.

becuse this a pretty heavy flask build any chanche you can show us noobs what to get and how to enchant them . loving the build so far .
For how to enchant flasks: you need 5 Instilling Orbs and 5 Glassblower's Baubles. The crafting recipe is in Karui Shores once you kill act 10 kitava, so don't worry about it until you're done the campaign.
You can convert Enkindling Orbs to Instilling Orbs by vendoring 2 Enkindling Orbs, any trigger gem (I prefer reckoning, it costs 1 wisdom scroll) and an alch.
Other misc flask notes:
Choice of enchant is up to you, mostly "use when charges reach full" or "reused at end of effect". Reused at end of effect is technically slightly better, since if you don't have 100% uptime you'll have the flask for ~2 mins straight, rather than having intermittent downtime throughout, and you can probably finish whatever you're doing in that 2 minutes. You do need to tap your flasks at the beginning of every map though, so I prefer "use when full"
For mods blue flasks: For prefixes, I'd go for "Increased duration", "Increased charge recovery", or "Reduced charges per use". The hybrid mods that give these while also reducing flask effect aren't that great. For suffixes, I ideally you want "Inc evasion rating during effect" and "additional Elemental Resistances during Effect" specifically. This basically caps your resistances and gives you a huge defensive benefit.
Beyond that, "Reduced effect of curses during effect", "Reduced effect of shock during effect", "Movement speed during effect", are all good options, pick whichever one you think is the most useful to you
"Chance to avoid being stunned during flask effect" is nice as well, between one of those mods, Heart of Oak on the passive tree, and the Perfectionist wheel you can become stun immune, which is nice
Also, because this tripped me up at the beginning: you don't need "inc evasion during flask effect" on the evasion flask specifically (in fact if you're buying these on trade, that specific combination is probably more expensive!)
So long as you have the suffixes you want somewhere on your set of flasks, it doesn't matter which one has which.

The skill itself is pretty damn good for ultimatum. The hard part is surviving, it's super early league so the build isn't very tanky yet. It's by no means squishy but Ulti gets pretty rough in red maps.
No league starter is good for ultimatum, however, PF can become fairly tanky later on with optimal flask setups and gear, which should be able to do it no problem.
Pathfinder without flask 100% uptime?
I like the mechanic of this build .. but the dmg is very bad agains rare mobs. at that point and cost just play lightning arrow

with poison arrow, you should never lack of damage, if you do, you probably do something wrong.

It compensate by hiting a mush biger area, but is a bit weak on single target without strong stuff.

Sir did you know you are using claw nodes with a bow :)
He is doing it for the poison chance. It works for any weapon and the 10 dot multi. W/o those nodes the build has 95p chance to poison
Sir did you know those "claw nodes" have global chance to poison with any attack, not just claws :)
Thats why he is using them(as well as global dot multi node), he explains it in the video.
