      @@javierjuarez3826 Rap was already out before the 80's and there were no fowl language in the songs during that time. What you really meant to say was not until a european man identifying himself as a Jew named Jerry Heller used his connections in the entertainment industry and government to create a national wide, televised farce highlighting the explicit lyrics of an unknown rap group at the time called NWA who everybody in the hip hop community ignored because they felt NWA was planted in the industry to neutralize and derail the political, community empowerment, stop the violence, and self awareness movements that were promoted and spawned in the hip hop community by the greatest hip hop group of all time Public Enemy. Suburban America immediately adored and supported NWA because Suburban America was threaten by a black group spreading a message of black empowerment and needed NWA to neutralize Public Enemy by spreading their messages of destruction, violence, and crime. That's how bad words became the norm in rap music. So blame the european masterminds in America since you're so eager to point fingers!

      I don’t think this was so much a Latin freestyle song per se. It definitely was created as a way to cash in on Madonna’s early popularity. But it definitely was adopted as part of the subgenre.

    Remember when people used to mind their own business when it came to politics and they went out to be with other people and just DANCE? JOY. SMILES. LOUD MUSIC. MOVING. DANCING.
    I hope young people today are doing the same thing. I hear from college kids that there are places where they dance. It's just not as prolific as it once was. I know every city and town used to have dance clubs. I hope we are seeing a resurgence. Happy Spring and Happy Easter to all!

  • @jacknjill3000
    @jacknjill3000 2 роки тому +38

    I would play this song right when I was getting ready to hit the all night clubs in SF back when this came out. They would play this around 3 am. when the main crowd had left the clubs and that’s when the real dancers came to life and they would play the better underground music and we took back the dancedfloor.
    For some reason I couldn’t find this record at the dance record stores in SF and maybe it was a year old. But when I went to NYC in 1987 and walked from Times Square to the upper west side to Vinyl mania, they had it for like $3.99 and I bought like 4 copies. They even had a ladder in the store bc all the records were all the way up to the ceiling. Oh and I walked bc it was my first time in NYC and didn’t know the bus and subway system and where all the streets and neighborhoods were. Yes and I was driven to find all the records I needed and willing to get lost in a very exciting city and much like how it was in the video. Those were the days in NYC and so much excitement everywhere and so much going on. I’m glad I got to witness NYC in the 80s.

    • @OneAdam12Adam

      It really was a great time. NYC has been dying a slow death with the corporate types taking over. They're boring and don't have a creative bone in their bodies. I think NYC will come back very soon. Not sure we'll live to see it but I hope so.

      AIDS, crack, recession, urban decay.... music yes but a hard pass

    • @micai.j8920
      @micai.j8920 3 роки тому

      @@RCast-sc6fy To each their own. We all have our preferences. The recession if I recall was in the very early 80s (1980-beginning of 1983). And yes the AIDS epidemic was a terrible thing and still to this day even though it’s much more manageable now with better medication, But HIV/AIDS existed long before the 80s, it’s just in the 80s we learned more about it and became more widespread. And really there’s no room to talk so bad about the crack era when there’s even more addictive drugs out TODAY destroying families, there’s drugs now that literally make people lose their minds. And of course, we have a new disease, more rapid than AIDS, called Covid 🤷🏽‍♂️..Which had caused a recession within itself. There’s so much complication to today’s society I would be typing all night about it, and Yes we have come a long way in many ways. What I was *really* referring to when I made that comment was for 80s pop culture, it was much more superior compared to today’s. Pop culture today is pretty dull, Most music is lifeless, barely any soul or passion, all sounds flat and boring and I lose interest fast which is why I mainly listen to 70s, 80s and 90s music, but I have more of a soft spot for my 80s. I also love the fashion trends of the 80s and the hairstyles, the whole mindset and atmosphere of that decade, But also the simplicity of things. I even love the TV commercials back then, the movies etc..
      Idk, I just love the 80s and I always will.

    I am in love with Alisha. No joke, I would totally be with this woman if I was around back in the day. So beautiful and amazing. She is my favorite female singer of all time. This song is awesome, and yet I think "Bounce Back" is her best album, as she got even better with every album she did.

      “All Night Passion” was actually her first single in America and it was popular in dance clubs and was a local hit on New York radio. “Baby Talk” though became a pretty big hit in much of Europe and that’s how Alisha was first introduced over there. Alisha’s popularity never got very far in America beyond New York and the dance clubs.

      Likely because it wasn’t released until after “Baby Talk” became a hit in Europe and they re-released “All Night Passion” as the follow-up single there.
