Hello pastor Ryan. I had a question that I was reminded of when you mentioned the legalistic push of some on prayer. When learning about or reading the word of God, must we be in a certain position too: sitting vs laying down? Will God be upset if I learn about his word while laying in bed. I had a debate about this with my husband. Thank you for your work, I love your sermons!
We don't teach that God REQUIRES a certain posture in order to simply pray. But sometimes a specific posture is helpful to express our heart to God. A good example is lifting our hands in worship. It's a posture we take to show, with our bodies, what's happening in our heart. Kneeling, laying, etc. can be good postures to take at times but it's not required in order to pray to God!
Fortunately it's a simple command God gives to us to be baptized! Don't over think it and just do it! The only thing you need to do to prepare is to be a Christian and understand what God is doing through baptism!

What are some things I can do to go prepare myself for baptism aside from praying? 🤍
