Murder Drones lore in a nutshell: Robotic Eldritch horror/amalgamation of flesh and metal attempts to destroy everything, while wholesome Golden Retriever murder bot and sometimes possessed Angsty Grape must save the day, with the help(and sometimes “help”) of their friends Murder Kitty, Rebar Russkie, Formerly-Deadbeat-but-now-actually-trying Dad, Thad the Chad, and the Queen Bee of Copper 9. Also, Angsty Grape’s mom is somewhere between death and life, and is somewhat responsible for the death of all humans on the planet.
I admit, as much as I love the show, I found it rather confusing too, mainly due to the amount of plot holes and unanswered questions, however, until the second season comes out, I appreciate how it allows everyone to come up with their own theories and connect the dots however they may like, until the entire storyline is revealed.
I think Glitch announced that the show is ending with only one season.
Let's face it.This show needed at least 15 episodes so all the plot be able to fit perfectly in time.
Yeah, I think the main reason people had a hard time understanding the story was because transitional pacing between episodes making it seem like there were some heavy time jumps

The fact that the lore of murder drones is so confusing has not only to do with it being a mystery story, but also because Liam doesn't know how to write an understandable script. Also because the plot feels very rushed between the short chapters so far, except chapter 7. That's why in each chapter a lot of things happen very quickly and it becomes confusing along with the amount of time skips.

My confusion comes from how the Drones are okay with each other being murdered. Like Knowing V's a Killer but not being afraid until she starts killing.
Also Doll killing Innocents Drones just to get to V is never reprimanded for her murderous ways.
To be fair, Doll basically disappeared from the colony after that, but you do have a point
As far as I know, doll too needs oil to live just like the murder drones (and probably Uzi cuz she ate some in ep 3 and 4)
Doll wasn't just doing it to get to V. She had the Solver activated, so she had to take their Oil to survive herself. She is a bad guy, but you can understand why she would be driven to it. I also think the fact that they're so accepting comes with the fact that they're well, Drones. Imitating humans but not fully understanding.
(Plus from a writing standpoint if they just immediately rebelled against the disassembly drones, or picked a similar quick route, it wouldn't be as interesting.)

I still don't understand it
The only real complaint I ever really had about the show is how it kinda felt like it shifted gears in-between the pilot and the rest of the series. Things like Uzi's quest to go to Earth for revenge on humanity or her banishment from the drone colony just got completely abandoned by the time episode two came along, and I suspect there might have been a general changing of minds behind the scenes as to what they wanted the story to be about. That kind of thing just left a feeling of inconsistency in he early parts of the show for me 🤔
Originally the show was going to be a largely episodic monster of the week type series, but that changed in production.
I mean to be fair, when you realize that there's something much, much bigger than humans going on and that the answers to what is going on are on this planet, you don't leave the planet.
YES!! Though I'm gonna be honest, I do like the AS plotline way more than the typical "Let's kill all humans" plot. It's already been done many times, but when it comes to continuation MD has some issues. The biggest example of this is ep4 to ep5. I felt like I skipped an episode while watching ep5.

If I recall correctly some of the “confusion” was always intentional, mimicking the obscurity of the Fnaf series in particular, where a level of analysis after each episode is needed to fully understand the story in it’s entirety, so an episode has achieved its objective if a viewer is invested enough to wilfully want to dig for answers to any confusion they have. There’s so many important single frames throughout the series that have the answers (often quite explicitly displayed through text), so it’s inevitable that just watching an episode all the way through once will lead viewers to miss these snippets and need to go back and check.
i find it hilarious how everyone in the murder drones Community keeps saying ''N is a good boy! he didn't do anything wrong! he can only do GOOD things! because his so innocent'' when in episode 7 we literally saw a flashback on how N was involved with the massacre of thousands even Millions of humans it might have been a long time ago but still he isn't all ''innocent'' as everyone is claiming him to be
In his defense, he WAS hijacked. Same goes for the rest of the MDs. But yea it's not like he wouldn't kill or hurt others. Just look at what he did to "Tessa" lol
Pro Tip: Watch Murder Drones For The Characters and Music, Then Watch Murder Drones So Many Times and You Will Understand The Story
I like Murder Drones but it’s really hard for me to pick up on what’s going on. I don’t have a problem figuring out what’s going on in Helluva Boss, Hazbin Hotel, Amazing Digital Circus, etc. but the amount of detail and action in Murder Drones is overstimulating. I’m autistic/ADHD and if there’s too much going on in a show, I won’t absorb the information given. I have this problem with some movies as well, but that’s more of a sound design issue

The confusing writing isn't a weakness in my opinion. Murder Drones just isn't made for being binged, at least if you're there for the plot.
Murder drones is a show that is actively for theorists. It's not that the writing is bad, it's just that it's meant to get you to think. If you don't come into this series by rewatching, pausing, rewinding, and reading things in the background, then yeah, you're going to be confused. I just wish people would stop blaming the show on their own laziness, because once you understand the story, murder drones is very engaging and fun. And if you don't have the time to dive deep into the videos, you can always just watch theory videos that will give you the answers.
@cawareyoudoin7379 I would once again state that if you don't understand the show and the direction it's going in, then of course, the pacing and writing are going to seem bad to you. I understand most, if not all, of the lore, and I see nothing wrong with the pacing. It's definitely fast-paced (not as fast-paced as Hazbin Hotel, but still fast), jumping from one thing to the next, but as an indie animated series, it kind of needs to do that. It needs to keep interest, especially since it uploads every few months or so. And of course, with many of the newer generations' shrinking attention span, it becomes quite necessary to speed things up to keep an interest in the show. And despite the fast pace, I would argue that Glitch Productions does a very good job at keeping each episode to further the plot in a developed way. Each episode has a specific beginning to end narrative, but they all tie into the plot and the goals of the characters. Maybe you feel it's not paced well due to their being no filler episodes to give the viewer a break from all of the intensity. But I and many others see nothing wrong with it.

Thank you, you put it into words so much better than I ever could. The show isn't for everyone, I get that. But for me it's one of the best things I've seen. It's like you said, Murder Drones is a show that makes you think- it doesn't just hand you all the lore and information on a single silver platter like most shows. You've gotta figure it out yourself and put it together like a puzzle by observing every little detail from each episode. And then, once you understand it, the next episode will make sense. Overall, I'm a theorist, I love shows that force me to use my brain, and I wish more were like it
@@onion_tears464 Same! I would love if more shows were like Murder Drones since it's so fun and rewarding to put the pieces together. And I can't wait to see how The Amazing Digital Circus goes about their lore, since if the pilot is of any similarity to the rest of the show, then us theorists are going to have a blast solving their mysteries just like in Murder Drones! Who knows, maybe these two shows will greatly increase other shows to have a similar format in theory-crafting!

Even though I didn't join the fandom until just after episode 6 came out I went into the series with no knowledge of it at all and haven't had a difficult time understanding what's going on even after just the first viewing. There were definitely little things I missed at first (especially visual clues by watching the show on a tiny phone screen!) but connecting the dots for the story in general was fun and not difficult. It absolutely does require paying close attention to all dialogue though, it's not a show that you can just casually view and expect to not miss important things. However I REALLY enjoy that about it! It makes the show feel so much more engaging and it's nice to actually have to connect dots yourself instead of the show explaining everything for you. It isn't bad writing, it just seems to have a smaller number of people that enjoy its style.
@crosana01 Nicely said! It really is one of those shows where you need to find all of the details in each episode. And if you don't look into all of the details, then you're bound to be completely confused by the next episode since each episode works off of each other. But, as long as you make sense of each episode, then Murder Drones is such a joy to watch and engage with!

V is definitely coming back because she was the one texting Lizzy (and I know this because Lizzy doesn't know anyone besides V, N, or Uzi; which N and Uzi are busy)
Uzi is currently in space somehow, not dead. How she'll come back from space is the question we should be asking since she's shown to be alive.
And Doll most likely will be forever dead since her heart (the thing Nori's conscious is in, in which the subtitles call it a heart) was eaten by Cyn. The heart seems to be necessary for the AS program, as well as a last resort if there are insufficient drone parts around, in which the AS program puts the drones consciousness into the heart. Doll may be able to live if she's repaired somehow by N and Uzi, but most likely, she's just dead.

I think my favorite example of people complaining about the show's "bad writing" was a UA-camr trying to get his friends to watch the pilot. They were talking constantly and then, when Uzi was leaving to go look for parts for her railgun, they complained asking why was she even going out there. I was just thinking "my dude, she literally explained why like 3 minutes ago but you all were talking..." 😅

Nah I understand it to the point I predicted almost everything that happened in episode 7 😭 I've rewatched the show over twenty times and also watched a ton of theory videos and explanations incase I missed anything. So high-five!
Not at all, this is a theory channel so its okay to expect people who don't understand
I think that people these days are just very used to shows that give them the lore, and so when shows like Murder Drones exist, the majority of people get confused. As someone who has been following the lore of FNAF to this day, as well as many other games with lore (Doki Doki, Bendy & the Ink Machine, Welcome Home, and more), this show was just another Tuesday for me in lore hunting. This is definitely one of my all-time favorite lore show!

Tbh I don't think we should be so harsh considering it's the first show Liam Vickers makes, yeah the series makes kinda a bad job explaining stuff but it's still enjoyable even with things being confusing all the time
One of my biggest gripes with the show, is that once in a while I'd see stream clips from the creator, and he'd be like "*super important relevant lore information* lmao", and I'd be like "When did this happen?? Did you make the same thing that I watched??? When was this told to us?????"
Which like I understand the show not telling everything to us, that's why I watch reviews, so that they point out what I missed. But I don't like the fact that I had to go to a stream from the creator for context, plus I was lucky that I stumbled into the clip, I could like never have seen the clip, and be super confused.
I think it was a clip of him explaining everything abt the Uzi virus thing, when in the show for me at least, she was still discovering it with the plot, while the creator just explained what happened, and in the next episode Uzi just moved on like "That's just a thing I can do", when neither of the characters in the last or in that episode were surprised to

If Uzi and N are together at the time before the core collapse, then why, in episode one, AFTER the core collapse, they don’t know each other and just met?

SMG4 didn't create Murder Drones. It was created and written by Liam Vickers, SMG4 is the co-founder of Glitch.
There are comments about the shift in plot of murder drones that I have A LOT to say on. Because it went from ‘Uzi wants revenge against humans’ to the whole ‘absolute solver’ idea taking over. This same thing actually happened with Helluva Boss as well.
There were two main things that changed Helluva Boss’ direction.
The first was that Stolas wasn’t meant to be a ‘good guy’, and was meant to be more of a moral grey version of evil. The second is that the show’s original premise was demon assassins going to earth, but now almost none of the episodes actually take place on earth.
Some pilots or first episodes end up being changed or discontinued due to the creator(s) either coming up with ‘a better idea/storyline’ or because a different direction ends up becoming more popular with the audience.
For Helluva Boss, Vivzie found the romance, music videos, and hell-universe to be much more enjoyable to work on, so that is why the show changed. I also think that original premise is still a part of the show, but it would be more satisfying to have these established growths of characters and relationships who then must face the enemies of both earth and hell.
Perhaps murder drones had a similar idea with the concept of the absolute solver. Glitch Productions love using biblical imagery and plot elements (as also seen in TADC) so they probably found it more ‘their style’ and changed directions.
I’ve genuinely never had as much trouble at understanding the plot and what’s going on as I have with Murder Drones, and it honestly kinda surprised me. And that’s with rewatching it through several reactions, but I _still_ don’t really understand what’s going on half the time and I don’t want to watch videos in case a prediction/theory ends up correct (I don’t want to get spoiled by a theory) 😭
I might make another comment or edit this one with my understanding of each episode and the overall plot.

I think Nuzi is actually a really good dynamic for the two. It feels genuine and not forced unlike a lot of films try and do between characters.

The story itself isn't confusing but from episode 1 the pacing was bad and because of that since they only had 8 episodes a few minutes here and there would have fleshed out the story better and made it flow much better rather than it feeling choppy at times
Murder drones pacing is its biggest issue imo. Esp in both Home and Mass destruction some important details are not clearly explained to the audience. I remember having to watch Tyromaniac's videos so the lore is a lot more digestible. Like I had to rewatch ep 4-7 to understand background references or foreshadowing
When I watched episode 5 the first time my brain literally shut off and I didn't understand a thing... When I rewatched it tho it made sense so idk
The show really isn’t that confusing, I do not get how anyone even remotely comes to this conclusion tbh. It’s insanely easy to keep a coherent understanding, a large portion of what was shown in episode 7 was stuff I had been saying prior because it’s frankly obvious. People just don’t see the big picture

I didn't actually watch the video but I have a theory I want to say I think the reason Cyn tried to kill Uzi even though she can control her is because Uzi can develop the Absolute Solver in a way that she can control it You see it in episode 7 that N tells Tessa that they won't hurt Uzi and then Uzi creates a small black hole that turned from yellow to purple And also in the part where N told Uzi's mother that they hang out together and that's why Uzi was able to come back to herself Which shows that Uzi has some control over the Absolute Solver And that also explains why Cyn tried to take advantage of N's kindness so that he would be against Uzi By the way, you can also see that the robots cannot be in two bodies at the same time That's why when Tessa died then Cyn took advantage of Uzi's situation to take control of her And because Uzi came back to herself then she returned to Tessa's body (don't ask how many times I've seen the series and tell me if I missed something)

I got into this show about 2 weeks before episode 7 dropped, I think that helped my comprehension of it, because I didn't have to wait a whole year for the big picture and stew on a ton of theories while I waited.
I also paused whenever I saw text flash by, so I got the subtle things that I thought were just easter eggs but turned out to be pretty lore-important, like the admin rights being transferred to Uzi
As much as I do regret not getting to experience the premieres of other episodes as they appeared, I am glad to not have my patience tested as much as the rest of y'all (but I commend you!)
I'm upset that Tessa turned out to be Cyn only because I liked Tessa, and I am horrified by the confirmation on what happened to her. The setup for that was there since episode 2, with the improv game the Absolute Solver started up. This to me clearly established the idea that they are a theater kid- I mean had the capability of learning and applying the behavior necessary to be believable. They just needed practice.
I think the only thing that still has me confused is the Absolute Solver's motivation for destroying other hosts. The best I can figure is that hosts on Copper-9 actually prove a threat to the AS's goals because Doll and Nori don't have Cyn's influence but are free to use the solver telekinesis, and Uzi can fight it and has already messed with the programming of two Disassembly Drones and can summon [null]s.
my brain cells understand this though very surprising in fact....

ALOT of Murder Drones fans have nothing else to their name.They just spawned in with a Murder Drones Profile Pic, only discussing Murder Drones etc. and are incredibly hostile if you disagree with their opinion
Episode 4 had the WORST Music. 98.7 especially.
Nuzi is an annoyance to me tbh.I mean I was never a guy for romance but god sometimes it's just unbearable.The falling scene in the 4th Episode was actually cute but now the relationsship is very dried out, uninteresting and bland.
J is too underrated.When she is in the focus than it´s mostly just "would, next one pls"
