- Shanee Stopnitzky has been loving the sea ever since she was kid. She's turned her passion into a career as a complex systems marine scientist and then took things up a notch by starting her own submarine collective, where anyone can use the submarines (including a homemade one called Fangtooth). Her next mission if to build an underwater house, which is already in the works. To find out more about the community submersible project visit:

This video did not age well
At least they're not made of carbon fibre
Not same….. you are the one didn’t aged well 😂😂😂
@fathermatanube7158 At least I know how to check my comments for spelling errors, lol
This channel is so underrated hope season 3 brings more subscribers
Thanks! Us too! Got some cool stories coming up for sure.
There’s no license because if you’re going to build your own submarine and get in it it better freaking work
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Big thanks to Shanee Stopnitzky for having us in California! We are out this week shooting more regular Coolest Thing I've Ever Made episodes for Season 3! Follow out IG to see what we are up to. Cheers- Guy
It's all fun and games until a journalist turns up dead?
She mentioned having the skills to build a underwater house. What’s the chance y’all gonna do a follow up episode mtv cribs style of that underwater house when she’s done @CoolestThing? That sounds amazing!
Pretty dang cool!! I hope they continue their development!
it's so cool to see this, espacially to see how much fun she has diving down.
Yes! Agree! Thanks for watching. More episodes coming out soon!!
Great video. Shanee is an inspiration!
Thanks Lincoln!!
Extremely cool.
Thanks Chuck!
This might not aged well.
Awesome projects!
This'd be cool to explore some mountain lakes.
Supercool. Amazing collection of subs 👏🐠
AWESOME 👏
I think of underwater houses too 😊
That’s so cool
That’s awesome! Welcome to the SF Bay Area!
Thanks for watching! It's such a cool endeavor!!
@@CoolestThing Been watching for years! Glad to see you back to making videos! 👍🏼
Reminds me of that ride at Disneyland that was sooo cool- I can’t remember the name but you went under water 💦
How is it homemade when they bough them? Just curious
This was a “profile” episode so not really a Coolest I’ve Ever Made show( I know it’s confusing, lol) One was homemade in Michigan before she bought it. The other she bought and her team retrofitted it.
@@CoolestThing Ooh, thanks for explaining! I thought she meant to say it cost her that much to build or something like that. Makes more sense now. Cheers!
Been a while hasn't it
It has, although hitting the road for 7 more stories this week! -Cheers-Guy
@@CoolestThing looking forward to it
oh no
BUILD THE HOME PLZ BUILD IT
Rip oceangate😮
Am I the only person that’s noticed the youngest brother from the show Home Improvement is the guy in the submarine with her.
4:36 look up "The Lineman's splice", congrats on being self taught and doing so much
😂 keep up the expiration America ✊🏾
OceanGate 2023
I have experience in a swimming pool full of liquor and I dive in.
Wow.. she can build these homemade submarine for mexico cartels 😂😂😂
Maybe take it down to see the Titanic 🤣⛳
Yeah .. umm no thanks 🤣🤣
Why would you want a certification agency, seems like something that would create a barrier to the bobby
So people don’t accidentally spend thousands of dollars on a sea casket
Yes - we need another license and agency and people to enforce all that 🙄🤦♂️
All our great forefathers who built this country ….
They would have never made in todays time and age ….
Where is the american spirit and freedom to do dumb and risky things as you like ?
Seriously, They're like.. look how cool this is, It was so easy get into it..... Then... But, now we want to regulate it so it's harder to do so.... It takes next level arrogance to think that way.
haha subject here, who said anything about mandatory and enforcement?! do we seem like cops to you?! the idea was to create an *elective* license and central training/certification agency for trust reasons because it turns out most people dont want to pilot or be in a sub with someone without formal training, and no formal training exists. so its a big barrier to participation that one doesnt exist. that doesnt mean we are trying to deprive yahoos like ourselves or you of tinkering and experimenting, it means that the people who arent comfortable with that (turns out this is most people) have an option for exploring this magical world.
I imaging you consider a hand railing on a staircase a barrier
Doesnt creating a license make it less accessible to poor/disabled/marginalized people ? That contradicts ur whole goal
She should stick to making subs and let the professionals handle her hair.
Interesting video! Maybe I can find something unique to buy from Craigslist and then say "It's The Coolest Thing I've Ever Made" too!
You're uploading after 7 months? Be more consistent, friend.
that's pretty cool
