dont understand the blackrose in g1 when he had 2 honests in hand... could've easily take out gortz or the token on enemy attack. :/ or am i missing something?
Guess I'm too used to modern Yugioh, but I've just been watching some Edison duels lately and I don't understand most plays. Like why not flip Ryko to destroy Lyla? It was such a big tempo loss and the DAD guy needed dark monsters in GY. Besides, it allowed for a big Celestia and basically lost him the game in the long run.
I recall this format most players playing EXTREMELY conservative most of the time, almost to the point where they put themselves in losing positions over it.
no i think that was just a misplay overall, nothing format specific. i'm sure they had a thought behind it, but idt not flipping was correct, even without expecting a celestia @@sWrd_Master
IMO it because there is no point in destroying Layla, it's super early game and his hand isn't doing anything for a big push. Dropping DAD early doesn't do much even if u get 3 dark from flipping Ryko as it can get snatched or removed. Flipping Ryko and setting another also loses to plague + caius.
well there is a point. you set up your own gy (no need to drop dad asap), prevent further milling, synchros, reduce the risk of herald, and ofc the celestia. and thanks to the turn 1 mill you are aware of what to expect (to some degree, and i suppose it was fairly known what the opp was playing as is). the caius point is fair, but is not AS relevant imo + rather costly for the opp. overall i think vs that kind of deck you really don't want to be too conservative, otherwise they can snowball you.
