Thoughts on solo traveling?! + Name a place you've traveled to, or would like to travel to on your own!!
My first solo trip ever was to Spain. Afterwards it was like a veil got lifted and I went to Miami, Switzerland, Hungary, Austria & Slovakia within 6 months. Currently making new plans for summer. It's so liberating as I don't have to depend on anyone to make decisions and even if I don't want to spend the entire vacay alone, I usually book a group activity/ tour for the first day of my trip and end up meeting hangout buddies that way.
I am French black woman solo traveling to Vienna tomorrow for 4 days ! I previously traveled to Helsinki and Montauban (south-west of France) and I loved it !
Solo travel is the BEST!!!
My favorite trip in all of Europe was to Nice. We stayed at a gorgeous hotel on the promenade and had the best time. We literally picked up new friends all over the place who served as informal guides. Of course that was when the U.S. had a great reputation and people were very interested in Americans.
Portugal to name one 😍
I have been doing solo travel for well over 20 years now and I love it! I got so tired of waiting on those, " yeah, girl..let´s do it and then when the time comes...crickets!" Ive met so many people who I still call friends to this day and experienced so many things traveling solo. I do have fun traveling with others from time to time but I seem to get the most of my trip solo.
Love to hear this!! Where has been your favorite place to travel solo so far? I had such a great experience I'll definitely do another solo trip soon!!
@@TiffanieDavis My gosh! so many lol! I will say my trip to Uruguay was one of my favorites...so amazing. I was eating one of the most delicious meals and one of the staff noticed how I wasnt afraid to eat..ha ha! next thing you know I had dishes coming at me, one more amazing than the other ( gratis). They also tipped me off to the Sunday Candombe, which is basically a barrio street party tradition ( from the 1800´s) featuring drumming and dancing started by former African slaves and Afro-Uruguayans.
Beautiful 🤩 😍, that is very nice ! I’m glad you are venturing out post Covid and enjoying the great summer weather 🌞 ☀️ 😎. Weird how I got to used to your signature hairstyle and every time I watch a video or blog it is your hair I’m like something is missing ! Right 😆😆🤣😂😅🤩🥂 sis !
Tiffany is it true, you have a new BF another UA-camr Jay Swanson 🤔⁉️
@@thepariswatchmaitresse5423 is it true? 😂 Let the girl live
I've been exclusively solo traveling for five years and its been such and experience and helped me to be more adventurous and independent. I don't hesitate when I have travel ideas or want to do things I just book a flight and go! as you do it more often it becomes a lot more comfortable and exciting☺️
where are you now?
I love your comment
@@carolinanu88 currently home in nyc but in the past 8 weeks Chicago, Philadelphia, and Cleveland next week I’m headed to Florida ☺️
I love traveling with my small group of girlfriends, but I’m going to MIA solo next month before I venture out of the country solo. I would love an app that let you connect with other solo travelers for dinner, or some excursions.
Solo traveled to many places including Paris and Nice is next on my list when I return to France . Enjoy Tiff and be safe .
Love that you did a solo trip to Paris!! How was it for you?
@@TiffanieDavis it was amazing this was my second solo trip to Paris. I just got back two weeks ago. First trip o was there I did a lot of tourist things. This time around I did more things like a local and I had an amazing time even with covid. I can’t wait to return back in a few months hopefully .
I'm strictly a solo traveler and on the rare occasion I'll travel with someone else. It's easy for me as a anti-social introvert 😄 but social people tend to love being somewhere new and making new friends easily
What ?! I live in Nice ! Hope you liked our city. ♥️
Oh and the place names (toponymy) Nice and Paris have in common are generic names: “Place de l’opéra” = a square located right in front of the opera house, “Hôtel de Ville” = City Hall. You’ll find those names in pretty much every big city in France. As for “Galeries Lafayette”, it’s a chain of luxury department stores. The first one was opened in Paris in the 1900s and there are several Galeries Lafayette in numerous big cities here, sometimes two since there is an additional one in Saint-Laurent, which is somewhat the suburbs of Nice (someone living in Saint-Laurent would resent me for calling the town “the suburbs” though - 😂)
Ahhh okay I see!! Wow I didn't realize Galeries Lafayette was a chain. Merci for this!!
W
So glad to that you took the plunge and going for it. I can see there will be more trips in your future. I have traveled solo to many places because like others I got tired of folks saying they were going to go but have a million excuses when it is time to go put down the funds. Nice was one of those places - loved it. Cuba, Galapagos, Ecuador, Morocco, India, I have been so many places that I won't name because I don't want to be hater bait. It is just that I really love to travel. I will be back to Paris in September on my way to Normandy.
Love that you love to travel solo! This is super cool
Having your hair down shows up the beautiful features in your face. Please, please keep your hair that way so that your smile and beauty shines💕
While you are there in Antibes take the train to Montpellier it is also beautiful.
Love solo travel! So empowering and so exciting you did it! I’ve solo traveled to Spain, Portugal, and Japan internationally. I kind of prefer it now since you have so much freedom to do whatever you want whenever you want.
ALSO! Being part of travel communities and online groups help with meet ups if you are having lonely days or want some company.
I much prefer to do solo travel - I can do whatever I want, go wherever I go, and I just love having time to be away from people. I think solo travel is so gratifying...you learn so much about yourself. I remember the first time I did it was in Serbia and Bulgaria for two weeks in 2018 but it was incredible. It felt so good to figure out how to get from point A to point B and just figure things out myself. 100% recommend doing it sometime.
I learned so much about myself on this trip for sure!! Thanks for sharing this!
Nice = A nice sample of Italy in Southern France. Categorically, no other city in France retains a cultural heritage and historical link to Italy (whose border is only 15 miles away) more so than Nice. I loved my sojourn there.
I'm a lifelong, inveterate solo traveler, both domestically and internationally. Profites de tes vacances. 👌👍
oui mais les bâtiments en Italie sont souvent en moins bon état donc ca retire du charme
I rarely travel with friends. Most of the trips I enjoyed least were when I travelled with inexperienced travellers. They can hold you back. Traveling alone sharpens your wit. You meet so many more people when you're on your own too.
How do you suggest meeting people safely when you're traveling solo
😭😭 the nostalgia. I love Nice, I went in 2018 and it was the best. We stayed for 4 nights and partied every night at High Club, ate breakfast every morning in old Nice at cutest little cafe that was owned and operated by 1 person 😂, and ate some of the most delicious foods. The food at every restaurant was just so good. I did most of my luxury shopping in Paris cause I didn’t realize they would have all of those stores but it was okay because that part of the trip was the most relaxing. It’s nice to see it coming back to life, it was crazy crowded in 2018.
I LOVED THIS! So encouraging for us young women to adventure on some solo travelling TO A GORGEOUS CITY! Love your haaaair ❤️
I'm on a solo trip right now in the Canary Islands🌞🌞also live in Paris.Honestly some of the best trips I've had solo trips give you an opportunity to make new friends and just enjoy travel exactly how you want to.I totally condone solo travels
My 1st trip to Europe was solo - schedules, interests, etc. can be difficult to manage and I went to Ireland for 10 days. I had a weekend wedding event attend and made it my last stop before returning to the US. Then Covid hit and I am dreaming about another solo trip, perhaps to southern France & Italy next! It really caused me to immerse and take in every minute!
Amazing experience. I have not traveled solo yet and I know it has stopped many ideas for trips. Good travel companions are hard to come by
I have been to both Paris and Nice, which is very lovely and calm. There are some great flea markets there.
Do you plan to go to St Tropez ?
I love Nice. And now that you mention it, that was my first solo trip too. This was back in 2012. I did Nice, Cannes, Aix en Provence, Toulouse, Marseille, Monaco, Menton, and Paris all by myself when I was there. Those are some of my most cherished memories. I pray I'm able to go back one day and show family and friends how lovely France is irl.
Nice is Nice !!! 🧡💛
Most of my trips are solo trips, i don’t know how people do trips in groups
Did my first solo trip to Paris in 2019 and it was amazing. Enjoy your vlogs so much and Nice has been on my wish list for some time 🧡
I started solo traveling internationally a few years ago and wouldn’t trade it for the world! The freedom and opportunity to self-reflect is life changing 🥰 I’m so excited about your first solo adventure, Tiff, and look forward to seeing the rest of your amazing trip!
I take solo trips all the time, partly because I think it's a good way to discover a new place that you like as opposed to receiving input from your friends and/or family. It's all about doing what is fun for you and a lot of cities offer tours and other group activities you can find if you want to link up with similar tourists that are out and about. I've traveled to Paris and Madrid that way and had a great time. Can't wait until I can travel again as the world has now opened up!! Loved this video!!
100000% agree!!! So glad you enjoyed :)
Nice is better than Paris, i hope you'll agree with this, otherwise...
I love solo travel. I’ve traveled to Paris, London, and Iceland solo. It was amazing. I felt completely safe & relaxed. It’s definitely a must do. I’m so excited to follow your travels. You’re giving me more places to visit 😊.
My first solo trip was to Paris, London & Berlin. All in 1 leg. 😭🤷🏽♀️😩🙌🏽 Bold move and I enjoyed it. 2015.
I haven’t been on a solo trip in a while but I’m bout to! Balcony rooms are my fave!
I did a solo cruise to the Mexican Riviera in 2007 and I went to Hawaii solo after college graduation in 1987. Thank you for reminding me how much I love Nice. We went there during our France trip in 1998. Love the beaches and those blue stripe umbrellas. I wonder if Le Crocodile Cafe is still there? We went for dinner and had the best paella. Can't wait for your vlog to Antibes!!
So brave of u to solo travel, I wish I could say that I will do this, don't know if Im boss enough! I know I should be, but I'm just keepin it real
Solo traveling is the way to go. It's so nice to be able to take the time to really experience your location and do things at your own speed. I've solo traveled to some of 🇨🇦's major cities. Europe is next on my bucket list, hopefully this fall 🤞🏾.
I travel solo 95% of the time.
Even traveling across the USA on train makes people ask ,is it safe? Post COVID might be a little challenging with so many crazy folk out.
Nice looks wonderful.
It was so beautiful there! The water was blue or maybe turquoise but whatever the color I liked it. Seeing those stores and you going to the restaurant was so cool.
This brings amazing memories when I was in the South of France in 2018/2019. Nice is such a beautiful city, loved my experience there.
Yes, years ago I went to Paris solo and had a blast. Want to return. I like solo sometimes because I can go where I want and not have to discuss with someone else! Nice is really pretty Tiff, thanks so much for sharing.
Congrats on your first solo trip! Had my first this January. I went to Vegas. I think I should have picked an island instead Lol
Beautiful solo trip Tiffanie!!! I want to try one also when the world opens up again, TX is showing out so bad right now though🤦🏾♀️. BE SAFE AND TAKE CARE Sweetie ✌🏾💕
I’ve always wanted to solo travel but have reservations being a woman and being a Black woman in other countries. I appreciate the encouragement and look forward to see the rest of your trip to the South of France!
I totally feel you!! Can't wait to share more :)
I’ve only traveled with a friend once, over 20 years ago. If you can be a single adult at home, you can travel on your own. It’s only something to get over in your head. America is one of the more dangerous countries. Anywhere more dangerous, you probably wouldn’t want to go. We’re good! 😉
Looks so ideal, I must visit Nice someday. 🙏🏿
Welcome to our city ! 💫😊 next time you should visit Cimiez with the Roman ruines & Henry Matisse Museum💫😊 !
Love solo traveling! The best solo travel was in Valencia, Spain! I had such a wonderful time alone there. Also love this video! NIce is of my favorite cities. It looks just like a postcard! Thanks for sharing!
I backpacked around SE Asia alone for 8 months and it was glorious!!! So proud of you for doing this 🥰 Nice looks incredible!
Even though I'm vaccinated, no one in masks is kinda scary. I have a solo trip coming up to South Africa. I'm traveling solo and stopping for a long layover in London to shop. I'm going with a Black female travel group so it may not count however I don't know anyone yet..so it's a solo trip to me, lol. My friends may not be able to travel as often with me but I learned you can't wait for everyone.
Tiffanie! I just had to come back and say thank you so much for this video. I watched it about a year ago and seeing you having fun in the city and eating out solo made me feel like I could do it too. I recently visited Nice on my own and it's amazing! Thank you for being the Black girl who could and inspiring the rest of us!
I wore the same sandals to SeaWorld today and they are sooo comfortable Tiffany!!!
Nice, the most italian city of France, this town is truly amazing.
You should go to Monaco from there too, it's very close, like 20 minutes by train
Very nice video. Going to Paris for 4 days next week, latin quarter, Hugernot st. hotel there!Amsterdam,4 days sept.airline crew(ret.),free.rented apt in Nice in November 3 weeks.want to walk, eat, enjoy being outside.thx for video of Nice and Paris also.♥️
Hey Bison 👋🏾 I've been on only 1solo trip so far and that was to London and I loved it! You did better than me for your first time tho, I forgot my credit cards lol but still had a really good time and met cool people
DAMN,that was is BLUUUUE!
also,I agree with a lot of ppl on here.traveling with someone/ppl that wanna share the SAME experience with you,is great.but man,is it a bitch when you wanna travel somewhere and your ideal itineraries don’t line up. Like Person A,wants to see museums all day, while person B wants to travel out the city or something.
I haven’t done it yet.but I feel traveling solo to a place YOU want to go to,will give you the chance to explore ALL that YOU want to.because other ppl might hold you back of being timid to travel from like Paris to Nice or something like that.
Congratulations on your first solo trip. 🎉🙌🏾. I do it all the time and just had a day trip yesterday to Durdle door Dorsey, England. Easy drive from London.
Enjoy the time safe travels. 🥂
It's my first time seeing you without (what I would call) your signature look, and halfway through the video, I felt like I was seeing your _face_ for the first time Iol!
I know, it's so silly!
But I guess I never even knew how mesmerized I was before!
Anywayyy, nice to see you! 😄
K, I'm gonna watch Part 2 now
Ahh so lovely! I’m moving to Nice in November hopefully. Applying for my long-stay talent passport visa now!! 💜💜
I love solo travel and have been doing it since 2017 so I have been fortunate to go to South America, Mexico, Canada. I am traveling to Europe in 8 months to France Portugal Spain and Italy. I want to visit Africa and China plus Alaska in the next three years. SOLO travel helps me connect with self and the world. I feel so grounded in new spaces and like life slows down which is my favorite part of my trips I have taken.
My only solo trip was to Whistler Resort in British Columbia, Canada and it was awesome!!!!
yes i have done some solo weekends and hope to do many more asap... the only thing i can't deal with is going to restaurants alone so i only eat take aways :) it might sound really selfish but i like to explore a city without having to OK everything with someone else... I just go where i want and at my own pace. nice vlog.
Very nice video 👏👏. Thanks for sharing. Please what App did you use for directions while walking? Was it offline or did you have online connection to use the App?
"Hôtel de ville" means town hall, so no wonder there's also one in Nice. And "Rue de l'Opéra" only signifies that there's an Opera on the street. So, no inspiration from Paris. Hope you enjoyed my city
Thanks for sharing this video. Was nice to see Melanin travels in areas we don't normally get to see a lot of.
Solo travel is my thing! I've been to 22 countries by my damn self. 15 of those countries were in Europe. I love traveling alone and going about a city at my leisure. A point of note....every city in France has the same buildings like Hotel de Ville etc. You must see more of the country...I've been to 9 departments in metropolitan France.
I love traveling solo! Awesome video. Is it safe to travel France right now? I want to go to Paris and then Nice in September but the news is scaring me a little, the protests against covid-19 pass ugh f**k covid 😩
Absolutely love your trip, girl! I had my 1st solo trip in the end of 2022 and I came to Paris
I want to travel to Nice so bad! My name is Fabron and I saw that there is literally a city in France called Fabron. This would be my first time out of the country. Was there a huge language barrier? Can I survive without speaking French?
We visited Nice and Cannes in May 2009. In Cannes, it was also during the Film Festival.
I came across your channel because youtube suggested your Antibes video to me (which is where i Live!). I have a friend who used to live in Paris and moved to Nice. She does not regret her decision :)
Hi Tiff
I always travel with a group. I would love to travel solo thanks so much.
Les vues à Nice sont magnifiques Tiff !
Thank you for inspiring me! Literally going to copy you!
Ohhh Tiff...can I come too?!!! PLEASSSEEEEE.
Hi Tiff. Have you been to Bordeaux. It is a mini Paris. Can’t wait to go back and eat at Entrecôte restaurant.
U are so adorable! Thanks for showing us The South of FrAnce!😚
Im gonna in solo travel in few mounths and thats what i need to decided to go to nice. And about pubs, and nightlife, do u know something about ? Will me my first time in europe!
Nice was also my 1st solo trip! Then I visited Monaco but didn't have enough time to go to Cannes
I solo travel all the time. It is restful and relaxing and you're free to meet new people and not be tied down to a group.
Hola 👋🏾 Nice is on my list of places to visit when I come to Europe!! Thanks for sharing - it looks to dreamy and picturesque❣️❣️ Safe travels and looking forward to your next stop 🏝
Hola honey how are you. Greetings from Ireland. Hope you’re safe from Covid. It’s a very good video. Wish you a lovely day and stay safe 😊🌹👍🙏 Michael
Been solo traveling for a few years now and I only wish I started earlier!!
I was doubting to go alone in Nice on septembre but watching your vidéo encouragés me to do it.
I’m retired. Solo traveling is a great retirement activity. I feel bad for people who want to travel to one place or another, but don’t do it for whatever reason.
Oh and I'm loving your very chic French look including the hair all down. Ingrid
Looks like you are looking at your phone for Directions? Were you just using google maps or some other app for touring a city?
Nice is nice ;)
Great video! I'm going there soon can't wait!
I didn’t know Nice was a plane ride away from Paris!
Looks incredibly fancy.
You raised Nice's stylishness by about 95% 👍
Lol! Thank you
Hotel de ville just means city hall lol… there will be one in every city
I enjoyed my trip to Nice, Monaco, etc
Just booked my solo trip to Nice!
Maybe ill meet you! Yay, idea!
I’m from NYC and my first solo trip was to Miami right before the pandemic hit. And now I’m in London solo. I plan on going around other countries in Europe solo🙌🏾
Yesss of course I took a sole trip! So fun.
Looks beautiful!😍 But I didn’t see many other black people… I guess Nice is just a place to visit, but not live. Hope to go there one day!
Yeah tbh I was typically the only black person at most of the restaurants that I went to but walking around I saw a few of us
The black people you may see aren't necessarily ADOS from the states, and they may not speak English.
Most of black people you may see in Nice are tourists, those from big cities like Marseille, Lyon and Paris, plus some refugees along the big central avenue.
But yeah, they aren't plenty but not uncommon tho.
I’m learning so much from watching your channel. You need your own show! Please do a video of St. Tropez and the 6th district in Paris. My family is considering France for an annual summer stay. (2 weeks in Paris, 2 weeks South of France every year) We’re learning French and Spanish now.
Solo a LOT! So I can do what I want!! LOL
This was such a throwback for me because my first (and only, so far) solo travel was to Nice and I recognise so many of the places you went to! I even ate at Chez Juliette, which you were standing outside of. You've reminded me of how much I loved it, I definitely need to go back. Glad you enjoyed it.
I personally don’t like solo trips . I’ve done it a lot and hate it, especially in France . I have to be with someone who knows the city or someone adventurous willing to try anything .
Go to Aix; Marseille.
Nice thank you
Autumn sunlight :)
