Dude... Putting China in A class instead of S class is already contentious, but placing it BEHIND India??! India MAY reach a state where this *might* be possible, but this is clearly going to take decades. One must be honest here: both military, economically and in terms of power-projection, China has clearly the upperhand.
Saying, in a speculative manner, "ah this may change in some decades time, so I'm putting them before China".... is....weird beyond normal logic. You either make a ranking of how it is NOW, or you do it as it will be in several decades... but you can't have it both. For NO other country, did you use speculation of how things might go in the future, yet you do for India. This just doesn't make sense.
I admire India and agree it has potential, but when making a ranking, one must remain realistic - and consistent, here.

    • @AniMageNeBy
      @AniMageNeBy 8 місяців тому +48

@@arcaakvira Right? I'm glad chauvinism doesn't trump realism. India certainly has potential to also become a superpower in the long run, but if one is being logical and realist here; now or even in the near future, they don't beat China. I mean, China has even surpassed Russia, except in the nuclear missiles domain.
I think the author of the vid did this on purpose, to introduce some contention and stir up some extra interest. But it's pretty clear that, China should be either considered the lower S-class, or the upper A-class.
Things may change in a few decades time, but since he didn't do this "futuristic speculation" for any other country, only for India - he's being disingenuous. What he basically is doing, is placing India speculatively how it might be in 20-30 years, between other countries how *those* are *today* . That's so nonsensically absurd, there must be an ulterior motive to it.

From Nehru to Modi, Indian foreign affairs establishment and diaspora abroad has been nonchalant, week and pathetic. Indians just don't care. China has banned Google and yet Googlies would not dare show China as cut up with separate Tibet, Turkmenistan (Xinjiang), Manchuria and more. India is B with potential to grow into A or fall into C (there are certain difficulties that might make it a bit irrelevant geopolitically compared to the US and China). My personal tip is also if EU integrates more, which is happening, develops european army, it might grow into A+ in a decade or two. Russia today is A- and it will probably even fall to B, i dont see any possibility for it to become S.

But now India is moving towards own manufacturing which will desaster for Chinese export as , India is biggest Import of Chinese goods. Russia will surely not have any competition with India at this point, Their economy is lesser than India and they are struggling with lots of sanctions which will eventually bad for their economy in long run. His arguments are weak. China's power is build on real economic power. They have a well educated workforce and build global influence through the Belt and Road inititave. The economic interests of so many countries are tied to those of China. They consistently outperform the US in bids for infrastructure projects in Asia, Africa and South America. They build factories and buy companies all over the world. These alliances are less coercive than the partnership with the US. China doesn't mess with the internal affairs of countries, they don't push reforms down the throat of developing countries.
China is innovative in key industries like the production of technology used in the military sectors. They are also a mineral rich country. Develop solar technology and make efforts of becoming less reliant on the import of energy. They're innovative in software development. Their Apps and the Financial industry are integrated very efficiently. They outcompete any country in the EV market. The Chinese economy is so much stronger as the one of the Soviet union ever was and the best part is, that they don't have to spend so much of their income for the military, because their real power lies in multually beneficial economic relations. Germany couldn't leave China if they wanted to. The US economies are reliant on China as a market and as a producer more than ever before and all the talk about finding other countries to produce doesn't happen in that way in practice. While Europe and the US might raise tarrifs on Chinese EVs, while they might ban Huawei and TikTok, the world doesn't revolve around like it did 50 years ago. Other countries in South America, in Afica, in Asia gladly buy the cheaper Chinese alternative. This in turn leads to these countries gaining a gradual advantage over the US and Europe, who have to pay extra, which is making these countries less profitable.
China is definitely S-Tier. It's the only country that comes close to rivaling the US.

They have economic might and some scientific and technological might, and right now that's about it. Also, the US is energy independent. China has no oil and can easily be crippled by blocking off the Malacca Strait, which is how oil tankers get to China from the Middle East. It is also surrounded by several hostile nations (India, Taiwan, Japan, SK, Vietnam). The US is surrounded by Canada, a friendly ally, and Mexico, a critical trading partner, and two oceans. 6:10 Ok, this is another gripe I have with this vid. What border dispute do they *ACTUALLY* have? Since you explicitly say "literally", they should, in effect, have a literal border dispute - which one is it, *precisely*?
I bet you can't name it, because... there is none, because at this point in time all borderdisputes between Russia and China have been resolved through the 1991 Sino-Soviet Border Agreement, the 2001 Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship, the border agreement between Russia and China signed on 14 October 2003, and the additional Sino-Russian Border Line Agreement of 2008. Each of these agreements dealt with a border issue, and since 2008, ALL border disputes between Russia and China have been resolved. So to what "literal" border dispute are you referring that they are having "right now"? Sorry, but this is sloppy investigative work. If you want to be more professional, at least you should put some effort into it. Including in checking your sources.
The only (rather gullible) substantiation I see is a statement in certain particular Western media (whom are notoriously anti-Russia/China) whom claim to have seen "secret documents" no one else has seen, which pretend to show "wargames" of Russia vs China... And this amounts to a "literal border dispute", how, exactly?

Canada vs. Australia: Canada was called a Middle Power since 1960s. During WW2 it had the third largest navy in the world. Take this: Canada is the second largest country on Earth with the second largest oil reserves (after Saudi Arabia), and the largest (60%) of drinking water (thanks to the snow) in the entire World. Canada has 28 Nobel Prize winners (one of the highest on Earth) while Australia has only 14. Canada is also a member of G7 (Great Seven - a Club of most powerful western nations), NATO (the strongest military club of the Western nations), has strong diplomacy with the West. Canada's geography is much better and closer to the Global powers (USA, Europe, Russia and China) than Australia's (the middle of nowhere to be honest). Australia is not a member of G7, and not a member of NATO, plus has big problem of water shortage (due to the climate). Canada traditionally has strong manufacturing and industrial base while Australia has almost none. Canada is not a prominent power for sure, but it is definitely more powerful than Australia. Don't get me wrong, Australia is a wonderful country, but it is certainly not a power by any means, due to its small size, and can boast one of the highest living standards.

I think you are dead wrong about the relationship between China and Russia. When was the last time China and Russia really had a war between them for territorial dispute? It was around 1969 and that is like 45 years ago. Also let me tell you about the demographic problem in China. What is the percentage of people in China that is over 65 years old? what is the percentage of people at the over 65 bracket? 14% of Chinese people are over the age of 65 and for the US 16% . India and China, they do have similar populations but what you and western think tanks often overlooked is why India and China have developed differently in the past 40 years considering up to until 1990 India was a marginally wealthier country than China. If we are looking at number of working people in these two nations we will be seeing a big difference, despite having the same population the labor participation rate in India is just around 35% and in China it is 72.1%, as the result China has a working population of 740 million and almost 40% more than India. USA has a working population of 172 million. Out of its working population China has skilled or trained work force of 200 million and out of this 200 million, 60 million are highly skilled, India has a skilled or trained work force of 27 million, this is actually caused a gap or shortage of skill workers of almost 150 million. In education China has a literacy level of almost 100% in 2023, India's literacy rate is about 80%. Tertiary enrolment in India is at 28% and in China is about 70% of secondary students. the government investment in education is also huge, China spent 3.3% of its GDP on education and India spent 2.9%. So there is a giant gap between number of well educated Chinese and Indian population. I think what I posted should really highlight the demographic issue that we are seeing in China and relative advantage or disadvantage that India has with its larger population. Scientific research and development is what will also set apart this two countries, China's investment in research and development is around 660 billion compare to India at 62 billion. When it comes to debt, China does have debt but China also saving country, Chinese saving is equivalent of 45% of its GDP that is unmatched by any other country, if we look at the deficit the country is running China is running a budget deficit of 200 billion while the US is running a budget deficit of 1.2 trillion. When you talk about Chinese navy, you need to remember they have the 2nd largest navy in the world, they are also have one of the top 2 ship building industry in the world. I would put China far above India, Germany, UK, France. When we consider where China is in term of its military and economic power, it is far above the other four, in term of richness in natural resources China is considered the 6th best nation in the world. In the next two decades we are going to see China as the nation that consolidate its supply chain.

Which country is the biggest manufacturer and exporter of goods. This country is even considered as the most serious competitor by the most advanced countries . Which country has lifted 800 millions people out of poverty in only a few decades. Their industrial is such, that the advanced economies are now pleading it to slow its production capacity. These are a few of the foremost criteria to consider before making your classification. As regards demographic there are many solutions to address this issue and it is not an unsolvable problem.

The idea that any European country is more powerful than Japan is a ridiculous notion. It straight up doesn't make any sense. Japan's economy is bigger than all of those and it being the most indebted country doesn't matter much as it's mostly owed to itself whilst having been the world's biggest creditor for last 33 years. It's military is also vastly more powerful than France, Germany or UK such as having a bigger navy than UK and France combined. Germany's military is extremely weak compared to Japan. Politically, it influences more people than UK, France and Germany. Just the fact that it's a much more important diplomatic partner for India, China, US and ASEAN and close to EU gives it more leverage than the 3 European countries. It's birth rate is along the same lines as Germany, Russia, UK and it's always blown out of proportion for Japan for some unknown reason when it's clearly a global phenomenon and it'll still have a larger population than the European countries and comparable to Russia in next 50 years. It's cultural power through games, anime, manga, tourism, food and more is only matched by the US and in Asia, where most people in globe live, it even beats out the US.
It's impossible to say that France, Germany, UK are more influential WW than Japan as they don't beat Japan in any metric. India is also less influential still. Russia is debatable. China and the US are the only countries more powerful than Japan. It just seems very strange to me how you'd consider these countries as being more powerful?

Only two things Japan has in their court against india is their soft power and geography. Japan has got anime, manga, and games. Whereas india is known for its food and movies. The three super powers (US, China, Russia) belong in the S-tier.
    1) China is the industrial superpower that could outproduce the entirety of the West militarily if it so chose... much as the US outproduced Germany and Japan in WWII.
    2) Russia is the world's 4th largest economy by PPP terms - a recent thing, as the IMF recalculated its formula); has the best air defense and military industrial base in the world (with the possible exception of China); is the world's largest producer of commodities; has the greatest number of nukes; and has extremely good relations with the Global Majority
The US, on the other hand: is reliant on obsolete military technology (aircraft carriers, and a huge number of obsolete aircraft); has hollowed out its industrial base; has completely destroyed its moral authority and soft power abroad due to its blatant support for Israel's genocide; and is in the process of seeing its financial supremacy fail as the world de-dollarizes at an accelerated pace.
Yes, the US is still powerful, but it is no longer in a class of its own.
And FFS, the UK as a A-tier power? With less than 100 working tanks and a flagship that can't leave port anymore? This was a lazy hack job.

Kudos to Indiafirst for actually replying with an intelligent comment.
Regardless, the fact that the world consists of three superpowers (with the US as the prime superpower, China as a close second, and Russia as a distant third) is not simply my estimation. Rather, it is the opinion of the world's most respected geopolitical analysts, such as Professor John Maershiemer.
I simply agree with him in this instance.
      To address Indiafirst's points:
Diplomacy: India has sought to position itself as a leader of the non-aligned movement, with moderate success. This has not worked out for India as well as India would have hoped, especially in a world being divided between the West and the Global Majority.
Russia may indeed be on the outs with the West, but it has some very strong partnetships/alliances with China, North Korea, Vietnam, Belarus, Iran, and even India. These are allies that have demonstrated the ability and willingness to stand with Russia even in the face of intense pressure from the West.
India's allies lie on both sides of the global divide, and that is an enormous problem. India's foreign policy was formed during more naive times for India, and it is only now becoming clear to India that being an 'ally' of the US means being subordinate to the US in foreign policy matters, and being willing to sacrifice Indian national interests in favour of pursuing the US' geopolitical interests. Japan discovered this with the Plaza Accord, and Germany discovered this when the US blew up the Nord Stream pipelines.
Demographics: Demographics mean nothing if they can not be leveraged properly. China had excellent demographics under Mao, but is doing far, far better now with much worse demographics.
However, India's demographics may indeed be coupled with better industrial and economic policies in the future to propel India into the ranks of the superpowers. Hopefully that day will come sooner, rather than later.
Best of luck, India. Choose your allies more carefully though.
